The topic of the activity was 'Our Wishes for Aladdin's Magic Lamp'. There were 4 students in each group. Each of them in the group represented the wish in a drawing (using A4 paper). For the gallery walk, 2 students stayed in the group (hosts) and 2 students visited other groups (visitors). The visitors asked and the hosts answered about the pictures. I divided the class into five groups, each grup should be fast to answer every question in English. I'm ready to study" then they continue speaking with their answer. The reason why I give them this "password" is because I really want to help my students speak English at least telling the name or even saying simple words. I was so glad because the class was very active, each grup tried to be the best. After we finished the quiz I choose one grup with the highest score to be the winner, and of course the winner got the prize (just Snacks) hehehe😂😂

I divided them into some groups consisting 4 to 5 students, and they discussed how to make conversation based on the expressions I've taught. It's more like small simulation of group chat where they will talk casually to each other. They were very cute and funny, how they expressed their daily routines and asked the others, and also how they immersed their roles in the conversation (some of them made scenarios). Both of I and my students learned and laughed together, and I also learned to understand the characteristics of my students better. The material is, of course, important, but the process to get to it is way more important. The discussion not only made them understand the material; but also got them to know their friends better by debating how, where, or when to use the expressions better. It is indeed a classic way to teach, but sometimes the classic can be as fun as the creative way if we can handle it well.
