      <description>To one degree or another, I am sure all of you are readers and book lovers, so everyone can relate to Kelly Gallagher&#39;s concept of &quot;readicide.&quot;  Promoting books and helping to build reading skills are part of your instructional role at all grade levels.  I have added an interesting article for you to read about the difference between non-fiction and the term &quot;informational text&quot; which is a major focus of the CCSS for ELA. I suspect the concept of information text will endure in new mandated standards. The article may help you in explaining the difference between the terms to teachers. In addition, you have a wide variety of choice readings for blog discussion. I hope you enjoy this week&#39;s session and resources.
