This is important because if Paul von Hindenburg never appointed Hitler chancellor the Holocaust might have never happened or would have happened at a later date.

This camp was the first camp that was opened before WW2 it had killed at least 28000 people by the end of WW2. Dachau was the only camp that had remain open through all of the time the Nazi party was in power

The rioters destroyed hundreds of Jewish synagogues. Many of them were looted and burned to the ground. About 100 Jewish people lost their lives in these pogroms. The German government created many laws and decrees to try and keep Jews from practicing their religion.

This forced the Jewish people to change their middle names if they did not have a european first name. Jewish people essentially lost their Jewish identity. It also made it hard for Jews to escape to another country because many countries wouldn't take in Jewish people.

Helen wrote in her letters about what was happening when Hitler invaded Austria. Her March 14 diary entry talked about how Hitler placed flags all over the city which he then spoke to the city the next day.

This caused the Austrian Nazis to take over the government. The new Nazi chancellor of Austria signed a new law with Germany that meant Reunification with Austria and Germany which made them allied forces. Austria had applied the laws against that were against the German Jews against the Austrian Jews

Buchenwald's first prisoners were political people that opposed the german authorities trying to silence them. Close to 10000 Jews were sent to the camp along with Jehovah's Witness, Roma, and Gypsies where they were treated extremely horribly and many of them died.

This law targets the epoplebased in their beliefs and their lifestyle forcing them into losing their romani and sinti identity. This reflected how the Nazis seen others as inferior compared to themselves this also led up to Roma and Sinti people being imprisoned in concentration camps.

As a result of this ban Jehovah's witness still continued to practice the way of life as they believed in something bigger than temporary power. After the Germans found this out they imprisoned hundreds of Jehovah's witnesses in concentration camps and prisons. There were around 1650 Jehovah's witness that died in concentration camps from Austria, Germany, and Dutch

The reason the students did this was to try and create cultural control and censorship that opposed the German government in any way. This was one of many steps to come against other cultures leading up to the war. Through this event some of the cultural traditions may have been lost because the were written down and burned in the pile.

1933 germans really enforced educators to teach nazis ways and about how the should love the ways of them. Many Jewish kids were forced out of public schools and had to enroll into private schools to get an education. Some families could not afford private schools so some Jewish children were not able to have an education at a young age.

This plan consists of a plan to segregate Jewish people from Aryan society. Their plan was to take away Jewish rights and dehumanize them. Hitler stated that only german blood could be a citizen therefore saying Jews were not German citizens. Many years later when Hitler came to power many points he had made as goals were ignored.
