When we teach new vocabulary, we have to make the learning process enjoyable and interesting. There are many ways and methods, and one of them, in my opinion, is using games in our lessons. Games motivate our students to learn a target language in a fun learning atmosphere. In my lessons I like to use different kinds of games to learn and practice new vocabulary . While playing games, students' attention is on the game (message) and not on the language. When the weather is good I take my students outside and we play outdoor games, verb actions, ball games, sing and act out, go hunt, etc.

I do use games in my class while teaching vocabulary. First, it increases the kids' interest and motivation. Second, it is fun. Third, it's a great way of drilling and practicing new words, especially because learning a foreign language isn't easy for everyone. I usually combine games with the digital platforms I use (which basically replace games with flash cards), and I also use "Wordwall" from time to time, and Quizlet many times. (The games are used both in the teaching stage and later in the drilling stage). Gamification has become very popular in recent years, and I highly recommend every teacher to combine games in their lessons.

Sometimes the game takes more time then a few minutes so I use the game and the pupils' motivation, cooparation and enthusiasm to teach new words. I believe that games help pupils even the weak ones to open up, speak English and feel good about themselves. It doesn't feel like teaching for them. They wait for the lessons and for the games I use. They show respect for the culture of English and how to play without shouting the answer, they listen to one another. They practice English in fun and relaxing way.

For me the main key in teaching and practicing vocabulary is using games. I use games in my teaching on a regular basis. I introduce and teach the new words via physical flashcards using games to reinforce the learning. Then, we practice and review the words through various games each and every lesson using the flashcards and many other digital tools. We celebrate the words at the end of each unit through a lesson of games. We like to play ball games, tic-tac-toe, bingo, wordwall, hangman, find the smiley, memory game, spelling games, kahoot, quizlet and so on. Sometimes, they prapare the games by themselves. I truly believe that using games enhances and facilitates the learning. Games motivates the children to learn, participate and encourages engagement and involvement in the learning. Moreover, games add an important element of fun and enjoyment, thus creating a sense of success, meaning and a positive connection with the learning.

Rinat Harach and Dafna Goldstein

We love integrating games in our lessons. We believe that the best way to practice material is by playing games. It can be indoor games such as interactive games (word wall or wheel of names), or it can be card games, board games or outdoor games using a ball, hoops or any other creative ideas. By playing a game, the pupil implements what he learned in an experiential way. Due to the fact that a class has various levels and not all pupils find it easy to learn english using a book and worksheets, a game can give a fair opportunity even to the weakest pupils. It's a fun way to practice material and having everyone participate and for that reason we always look for new and creative games for our pupils.

I really like to incorporate games into my classes. I believe the best way to practice material is through games. I think there is no other way than that because learning a second language should primarily be experiential and done in a creative way. I use digital tools as Wordwall, Liveworksheets, Quizlet,Edpuzzel,Cram, Kahoot and so on. I also use card games, board games, or outdoor games using a ball, hoops, writing on sand or any other creative ideas.I think as an English teacher I have so many options to teach my students in a fun and experiential way. I am always trying to catch up on new songs and games that can keep my students engage.

I love to use games in my lessons for all levels. I also think that learning through games is very meaningful and helps the learners remember more, especially when learning vocabulary. In addition, I think that games can be given as homework to reinforce the vocabulary taught during the lesson if there is not enough time to play them during the lesson itself.
I usually use the online games, such as: Quizlet, wordwall etc. however, I also keep tons of games I made, such as: board games, reviyot, memory games and let students play with each other in groups by the end of lessons or as special "English game lesson".

Games are very important tool to teach and learn new words and phrases. We usually try to use different games. Pupils especially like Quizlet and Wordwall. Also we practice various cads or board games. These games and tasks are used as a learning stage and as a drilling. Also kids did their own vocabulary games and it was a great lesson! Even not strong pupils we motivated and did the tasks.
