Seaweed called sargassum is causing problems for beaches in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Florida.

It is hard to know which beaches will the seaweed affect and how it will affect tourism. Some beaches know how to solve the problem with the seaweed. Hotels are using special barriers. These barriers keep the seaweed from washing up on the beach. But some still make it through the barriers.

A recent report says that there are more clumps than usual coming from the ocean. They come from the Great Atlantis Sargassum Blob in the Atlantic Ocean. It is 8,000 kilometers long.

Difficult words: seaweed (a dark plant which grows in the sea), barrier (a long fence or wall which stops something from getting in), clump (a small group of things which are close together).
