They use mimicry and and eye movements in their dances. They also lift their eyebrows. The eye movements vary between speeds.Sometimes they are quick and then very quick. These eye movements are only found in Balinese dances.These dances are are dynamic in nature and in harmony with the accompanying music of the Balinese gamelan which is also full of force and power. Each movement in Balinese dancing, such as movements of the eyes, the head, the hand, the shoulder, the legs are in keeping with the rhythm of the beating of the gamelan. The position of the legs is usually open and low, even to the point of squatting. In some dances however, the legs are very straight.
