Until 1987, education continued at Çınarlı Primary School in Çınarlı District, but with the increase in population, a new school had to be built. Our school, the construction of which started in 1987, was put into service at the beginning of the 1988-1989 academic year. It was deemed appropriate to give the name of Nene Hatun, one of the National Heroes of the National Struggle, to our school.A prefabricated school affiliated to our school was built for the children of their families residing in the temporary earthquake residences built as a result of the earthquake on 17 August 1999, education started in the prefabricated building in the 2000-2001 academic year, and education continued in two buildings until 2005. As a result of the decrease in the number of students due to the evacuation of temporary earthquake houses, the prefabricated building was transferred to the District Directorate of National Education.

Our school has started to continue its education as a primary and secondary school since the 2012-2013 academic year.

Our school still continues education in the same building.

Our school was founded in 1938 as a 6-grade High School (Gymnasium and Lyceum) for Girls and until 1976 it was housed in the building of the current 5th Primary School of Kozani. In 1976, it became a 3-grade Junior High School (Gymnasium) and was renamed to 1^st Junior High School for Girls. In 1979, it became a Mixed Junior High School and later on it was divided into the 3rd and 4th Junior High Schools of Kozani. In 1984, the 3rd Junior High School was transferred to the newly constructed complex of Gymnasiums and Lyceums in the area of Panorama of Kozani, initially on the ground floor of the two-storey building that now houses the 2nd Vocational High School and in 1993 at the only ground floor building of the complex (eastern sector).

In 2018, it was fully renovated and its facilities are now energy and eco-friendly. School No. 14 Ion Ţuculescu Craiova has its genesis in the School with Grades I-IV from Bariera Vâlcii commune. In 1951, the City Hall of Bariera Vâlcii commune confiscated from the landowner Vasile Stanciu (called Filică) a pub, a warehouse and the afferent land, land that stretches from Bariera Vâlcii street to Ramuri street and had an area of approximately 2 ha.

In 1952, the pub and the warehouse were demolished, and with the resulting material, a school with two classes, a chancellery and a hall were built on the respective land. Between 1954 and 1955, another class was added. In the following years, three more classrooms were built.

Due to the reorganization of education, in the school year 1969-1970, School no. 20 from Teilor Street, composed of four classrooms and a chancellery, built in 1939, passed as a component part of School No. 14 Craiova.

In 1973, a new room with a ground floor and a first floor was built, consisting of 10 classrooms.

During 1988, School No. 28 and Kindergarten No. 35 in Şimnicul de Jos, built in 1927, came under the administration of School No. 14 Craiova.

A special event in the life of our school was the naming of Ion Ţuculescu on May 28, 1997, a day that was also declared the school day. The name of the great Ţuculescu was not chosen at random, our school being proud of authentic artistic talents.

An occasion of pride for teachers and students, the school is a second family in which everyone contributes, according to their abilities, for as many achievements as possible.

History of Our School

Construction of the school began in the summer of 1963 and was supposed to be finished on October 20, 1964. With the bankruptcy of the prime contractor, the erection of the building was transferred to another contractor. Thus, the construction period was extended and the school building was opened for education on February 28, 1965.
Our school, which started its education with 200 students, was opened as “Basic Education Boarding School” on March 17, 1965. Although the capacity of our school is 500 students, it was previously increased to 520 by ministerial orders and then to 580 in the 1994-1995 academic year. With the update made in 2017, the hostel capacity of our school was determined as 400, 220 male and female students. Currently, it is still being tried to provide services in the same capacity.
Families who live on a farm and do not have a school within 2.5 kilometers of their home, as well as families who do not have a school in their village, can enroll their children in our school.
There are 14 buildings in our school; two dormitories, an infirmary, an administrative building, a consultation, sixteen lodgings, a heating building, a generator room, a gym, two classrooms, a business workshop, a dining hall.
According to current data, there are approximately 600 students in our school, 350 of whom are boarders and 250 are externs.
