1. What is the Department of Forestry? It's a government agency that prevents and suppress forest fires and reforest bare lands.

2. The mission of the DOF is to protect and develop healthy, sustainable forest resources for Virginians.

3. One of my favorite core values they have is to "[exceed] customer expectations by delivering quality products and services in a response professional manner." It's my favorite because this shows that they go above and beyond for their customers ensuring high quality and protecting their integrity.

4. One of my favorite goals they have is goal #1, to ensure Forest Resource Protection, because they are conscious of the impact deforestation can have on the planet.

What is the Department of Forestry? What are their responsibilities?

The DOF takes on the task to protect the forest from fires and promotes a healthy environment by helping reforest bare lands.

The responsibilities include: the management of forest lands and grazing areas timber production, soil conservation, preservation of wildlife habitats, watershed protection, and development of recreational opportunities.

I found the Nursery Owner/Manager career opportunity to be the most interesting to me. They are in charge of growing trees for use in landscaping projects, such as parks and gardens, for all types of projects. I think this career can be very interesting because you have to be very careful to be able to have many things under control.

That it's portable! Imagine, you can go, for the most part, everywhere with a sawmill. It can give out a ready supply of lumber for free, and considering lumber prices, it can quickly pay for itself.
