Trail #1: Belle cautiously goes into the huge dark castle, and finds her father locked up in one of the castle dungeons! 

Trail #2: Then she meets the hideous, monstrous beast that inhabits the castle, and will not let frightened Maurice free. 

Trail #3: The only compromise the beast will settle for is if Belle takes her father's place as the beast's captive for life.

Belle had to stay with the beast as his prisoner, and at first it was very hard because of the beast's temper. Over time though, the Beast's heart was softened by Belle's kindness and unexpected love. The beast himself learned how to love and be kind again! He fell in love with Belle, but let her go so that she could see her father. Her magic mirror had shown her that her father was in grave danger.

She set out to save her father from Gaston, who had locked Maurice up so he could not warn Belle. Unfortunately, when she reached her father, Gaston also locked her up because he did not want her to warn the Beast that they were out to kill him. After Gaston locked up Belle, he and an angry mob set off to the Beast's castle to kill him.

The Beast mourned Belle after she had left, and did not care about the angry mob at the foot of his castle. They broke in and entered, and Gaston went directly where the Beast was, and tried to kill him. Thankfully, Belle and her father had broken free and went back to the castle to help defend the Beast and his servants. Just as Gaston had tried to kill the Beast, Belle defended him and the Beast got strength to fight back. Miraculously, the he pushed Gaston off the castle, and he fell to his doom. Belle and the Beast had saved the castle! The dishes and servants also helped ward off the angry mob.

After Gaston had been killed, Belle realized that she loves the Beast! She told him and they acknowledged that they both love each other, which broke the curse the Beast had been under! The Beast and all his servants were turned back to human form and the castle gets restored to its original glory. The Beast ( now a prince again) asked Belle to marry him and she accepted!

The Princess and her father came to live in the renewed castle with her prince. All the servants and dishes had turned, back to human and loved their human life.
