The challenge is to blog each day and also read and comment on three other blog posts daily. During this time, I wrote a blog post about my preschool teacher, Mrs. Skeggs.(http://couragedoesnotroar.blogspot.com/2015/03/thankful-thursday-sol15-day-12.html )
I wrote how thankful I was for her and how sad I had been to learn that she passed away years after I was in her class. One of Mrs. Skeggs' relatives found the post online and read it, sharing it with Mrs. Skeggs' husband. He wrote me a beautiful letter, thanking me for my post and telling me about his children and what they are up to now as adults. It was such a lovely correspondence. It felt good to know that my words made an impact- Mr. Skeggs was so happy to know that his wife's influence lives on in one of her students, who is now a teacher, too. I never would have made that connection if not for writing and sharing my blog post.

It was sold before she died, and I was devastated. Writing about it and why it mattered to me brought her to life again, and now I use that piece as a mentor text for my students when they write on the same topic.
