These students will begin each session with maintenance work, counting forwards and backwards to 20 and then up to 100. Saying the number before and after a given number. Solve problems up to 10 and then to 20. Students will also practise organising and sharing objects. They are then required to complete a maths number worksheet, finally they will also receive a copy as part of their mahi kāinga programme.

During small group tasks, students are asked to answer questions and display their findings. They are then required to complete a maths number worksheet and also complete a digital activity using mathsbuddy or prototec. Finally they will also receive a worksheet as part of their mahi kāinga programme.

A basic facts, multiplication worksheet is required to be completed as part of their mahi kāinga programme.

Your child will be learning to: choose appropriate methods to solve problems (using +, −, ×, ÷) and explain their methods to other people. They will be asked to use their basic facts to work out unknown facts. Mathsbuddy revision tasks activites for year 7's and 8's is compulsary for all students to complete online and as a hard copy.
