1#Kahoot!

Sharks, our first digital assessment tool is Kahoot!. Kahoot! turns traditional quizzes into fun, interactive games that keep students engaged while giving teachers instant data. In the classroom, the teacher creates or selects a quiz aligned to the lesson objective and projects the questions on the board. Students use their devices to answer multiple-choice questions in real time. This tool works well for grades 1 through 12, especially for quick formative assessments. Students receive immediate feedback, and teachers can instantly view reports to see who understands the material and who may need extra support. Kahoot! requires student devices, internet access, and a free account, although paid versions offer additional features. Teachers can download and share reports with administrators, and students can even access practice games at home. Kahoot! makes assessment fast, engaging, and data-driven.

2# Seesaw

Our second tool is Seesaw, a digital platform that allows students to show their learning in multiple ways. Seesaw is especially effective for Pre-K through 5th grade classrooms. In this platform, the teacher assigns activities and provides feedback through written comments, audio recordings, or videos. Students can respond by recording themselves reading, explaining their thinking, drawing, or uploading written work. This makes it ideal for inclusive classrooms because it supports different learning styles and abilities. Seesaw requires devices with cameras and internet access, and it offers both free and paid versions. One of its biggest strengths is family access—parents can view and comment on their child’s work, creating a strong home-school connection. Seesaw turns assessment into an ongoing digital portfolio that documents student growth over time.

Teachers, do you have third through sixth graders that you need to engage in assessments? Well we have the solution for you! Introducing Kahoot! All you need is a computer for yourself, a projector, individual devices for your students, and a good internet connection. The Kahoot! quiz can be anonymous or you can allow students to enter their name. Either way, you will be the only one with their personal information so they are safe. You can use Kahoot! as an individual study too, group study tool (game), or a check-in.

Google Forms is an effective, free, and user-friendly assessment tool that enhances both teaching and learning through efficient, data-driven practices. Teachers can design quizzes, formative checks, exit tickets, and surveys aligned to learning objectives while using auto-grading and instant feedback features to save time and increase student engagement. The platform requires minimal resources and integrates easily into classroom or remote settings. Al you need is a device, internet access, and a Google account. Teachers control the assessment design, analyze response data to guide instruction, provide targeted feedback, and manage privacy settings to ensure student data is protected. Access to results is limited to the form creator and, if applicable, school administrators under district policies, while students only see their individual results when enabled. By using Google Forms before, during, and after instruction, educators can quickly identify learning gaps, adjust teaching strategies, and improve overall student outcomes in a streamlined, paperless format.

In my future classroom, I’m pitching two engaging digital assessment tools that will turn learning into an interactive experience: Kahoot and Google Forms. Instead of traditional paper quizzes, these tools allow teachers to instantly check student understanding while keeping students motivated and involved. Kahoot uses game-based quizzes that work especially well for grades 2–6, encouraging participation and excitement, while Google Forms provides automatic grading and clear data reports that help teachers adjust instruction and share progress with families. Both tools are low-cost, easy to use, and accessible on school devices, making them powerful solutions for modern classrooms where assessment should guide learning not just measure it.

Or you can complete them as a class and call students up to click an answer. Kahoot can be accessed by teachers, parents and administrators.

Kahoot can be used in 3 important classroom activities.

1. To review before a test or quiz

2. A mid lesson check for understanding

3. You need a computer or ipad for each student and access can be given to anyone! Use this in your classroom to

check for understanding during a video lesson

assign videos for homework

or differentiate instruction for all students!

Together these two tools create a classroom where assessment is engaging, meaningful and helps students learn!

#1 KAHOOT

Teaching, imagine turning every quiz and assessment into…. A GAME SHOW!!!! Teachers become the hosts, students become competitors, and learning gets even more fun. With Kahoot, your upper-level elementary students get to participate, answer in real time, and get instant feedback. Teachers can launch and run the Kahoot, review and assess students’ answers, and even create follow-up questions for the questions that students don’t do so well on… Teachers, you can even adjust a different time clock for each question, depending on your students’ needs! While this is a superb tool for teachers, students also get in on the fun! Students can apply what they’ve learned in a friendly, competitive way! Students also get immediate feedback on their incorrect answer and can review the correct answer. The only materials needed for this is a FREE teacher account on Kahoot, an internet connection, a smart board, and student devices! If you didn't think it was good enough, parents can ALSO have access, if teachers choose. Kahoot as a whole is instructional gold; it allows teachers to check understanding using a fun, easy tool. Make teaching smarter, not harder!

#2 Imagine this, instead of pausing a video every five seconds to ask “Did everyone get that?” the video does it for you. That’s Edpuzzle. Teachers become the directors by choosing videos, adding questions right where students might get confused, and easily seeing who’s understanding the content, all in one place. Students become the stars as they watch the video, respond to questions as they pop up, and learn at their own pace with no skipping ahead or guessing. Best for 4th grade and up. With edpuzzle, teachers don’t just assign videos, they gain instant access to students progress, seeing exactly who watched, who understood, and where students may be struggling. Over time, Edpuzzle becomes more than a one-time assessment tool. Teachers can use the results to plan future lessons, reteach difficult concepts, support intervention groups, and track student growth across units, making instruction more targeted and effective. Edpuzzle turns videos into interactive learning moments and makes assessments feel engaging and meaningful for students.

Hello fellow teachers, today we are going to talk to you about two forms of assessing our students, quizlet and google forms! Quizlet is a digital tool that can be used for students in all grades. The teacher creates or chooses study sets and assigns them to students. Students use flashcards and games to practice vocabulary and key ideas. This is also a great study tool for students to use by creating their own Quizlet and reviewing material. Quizlet can be used on any device, and there is a free version available. Teachers can share links with students and families, and student progress can be viewed by the teacher. In the classroom, Quizlet can be used to help students practice vocabulary, review for quizzes or tests, and work independently during centers or as homework. Google Forms is a digital tool that can also be used for students in all grades. The teacher creates quizzes or exit tickets, and students complete them online. The teacher can see the results right away and use them to check student understanding. Forms can be shared with students, families, and administrators. In the classroom, Google Forms can be used for quick exit tickets, short quizzes, and student surveys or reflections.

Quizlet is a great tool for teachers to use that doesn’t require much preparation and it’s free! You can use it as a study guide, flash cards, practice tests, or games. This can be used for a wide range of age groups based on what activities/lessons you are teaching. The games and flashcards can be used for younger students since they are more straightforward, and practice tests and study guides are geared more towards older grades.

Padlet is another great (free) resource that is interactive where students can post their own thoughts and see their classmates posts as well. Students can even like or comment on their classmates posts to interact with eachother. This can be used in class live on the smart board or remotely as a homework assignment. Students can create posts with text, audio, video, or images. As a teacher, you control student permissions. Students can also make a post public, or post anonymously.

Quizziz- Quizizz should be used more in our classes because it turns regular lessons into something we actually look forward to. Instead of just listening to lectures or doing worksheets, we get to learn through interactive, game-like quizzes that make class more exciting. The friendly competition keeps everyone involved, and the instant feedback helps us understand our mistakes right away so we can improve faster. It also makes participation easier for students who might not usually raise their hands. By using Quizizz more often, teachers can make lessons more engaging, help students stay focused, and create a classroom environment where learning feels fun, motivating, and effective. It is also more accessible than kahoot because it doesn't require students to see the board.

Menti- Menti is an interactive presentation tool that transforms passive lessons into real-time, student-driven experiences. Instead of just asking questions and hoping a few hands go up, Menti allows every student to respond anonymously through live polls, word clouds, quizzes, and open-ended questions. For teachers, it provides instant formative assessment data, making it easy to spark discussion and adjust instruction on the spot. Since responses are anonymous, students are more willing to participate, especially those who may feel shy or unsure. For students, Menti creates an engaging environment where every voice is heard.

Look no further than EdPuzzle! The teacher assigns a video with stopping points to check for understanding wherever you choose. Edpuzzle is designed for students of all ages, ranging from elementary through high school, though under age 13, there is parental consent needed for privacy reasons. There is a free version for students and teachers, but a “Pro” version available for options to remove restrictions. You can also share Edpuzzle lessons with parents for viewing purposes so they are in the loop of what is being assessed. In your classroom this can be used as a pre-assessment for students to show what they know before you start a unit. During the unit this can be used as a formative assessment to see how well they are grasping a certain topic. After the unit is over, the EdPuzzle can also be used as a summative assessment that puts their skills to the test, and you can gauge how well they understood what you taught. What is also great about this, is you can give feedback to students on their fill in the blank questions. Try out this exciting platform!

Poll Everywhere-

Do you want feedback on your students' knowledge in real time? Boy do I have just the thing for you! Introducing Poll Everywhere! With Poll Everywhere, you (the teacher) can create questions that create an engaging academic environment. Student’s answers are posted anonymously to protect a student’s identity so that they may answer honestly. Poll Everywhere can be used across all disciplines because it is teacher accessible and fairly easy to navigate.
