The layout is conventional for a magazine advert in numerous ways. It does this by including the artists name, having an image in centre focus, the album name, as well as extra information like the release date and included songs. The artists name is placed directly at the top in a large font allowing the attention of the viewer to be triggered immediately as it stands out. The name of the album is lower down but still remaining towards the middle rather than the bottom standing out compared to the release date. The release date then features directly under the album name which the audience can the see after the other essential information has been given.

The colour of the album is bright which is unconventional for an alternative rock artist. The two main colours which are prominent within the album are white and blue. These two colours contrast well which is appropriate when wanting certain information to stand out for the viewer to see. There is also a clear link to the album as the colours used are exactly the same as the ones used on the album cover creating a direct link between the two; a convention of form.

Centre focus of the album advert is the image of the artist. This makes an immediate link to the audience when recognised of who the album belongs to. The image is the one which is the same on the album advert, a convention of form, which is purposely used. This allows the audience to make a link between the two and once seen the advert can easily identify the album.

The font used for the artists name is sans serif which allows the name to stand out and is prominent on the advert. The same font is then used for the title of the album making the clear link between the artist and their music. The font for the release date is different from the two in the form of a serif font; signifying a more softer approach and differentiating itself from the album name and artists name.

Conventions

Conventions of form have been used in the Lana del ray advert; having the artist name positioned at the top whilst the album name and release date is at the bottom of the page. The album also has a clear image which in terms of genre and form is conventional by it being of the artist herself. The contrasting fonts are conventional in terms of form allowing the advert to stand out. Similarly the two different font styles allow the adverts information to be bold and differentiate themselves in terms of information.
