Novel Title: "The Infinite Pendulum of Illusions"

I chose this title because education often feels like a constant swing between extremes — a pendulum that never pauses in the middle to reflect or find balance. Each year brings a “new” method, curriculum, or philosophy, often just a recycled idea with a new name and glossy packaging. Instead of building on what works, we toss out the old and chase the next big thing. The “illusions” are the promises of each new initiative, which rarely deliver lasting change or clarity. This title reflects the cyclical nature of education and the hope that one day, we’ll find a more grounded, thoughtful approach.

I chose this title because I have been given a difficult loop with a lot of behaviors. We have grown a lot together and this is totally a joke (most days), but I was worried there for a while! We have one more year together, and I think that the fruits of my labor will be seen in the area of classroom management.

I feel like my teacher career has been a Broadway play. There have been sometimes where I am the main character and other times I am the minor character. There has been some drama, sadness, and happiness throughout my career. Next year it will be a plot twist as I am moving to a new grade level. There have been highs and lows. There have been an udience and no audience at all.

Second grade is full of adventure and emotions! K-2 is when we learn how to problem solve and work through our problems. It can be a whirlwind as a teacher because it feels like an emotional rollercoaster ride that you are on all day long! In the end you can see how children start to solve their own problems on their own and no longer need you to guide them.
