I chose this title because education often feels like a constant swing between extremes — a pendulum that never pauses in the middle to reflect or find balance. Each year brings a “new” method, curriculum, or philosophy, often just a recycled idea with a new name and glossy packaging. Instead of building on what works, we toss out the old and chase the next big thing. The “illusions” are the promises of each new initiative, which rarely deliver lasting change or clarity.
