This quote represented a memory moment. Cadence has built a memory of the sea and her connection with her friends in which she will remember no matter her life's future. The visual I chose for this representation shows the sea as well as a group friends therefore, connecting the feelings of Cadence. If I was in her position I would be sad because a part of my life is now over. Lockhart's thriller, We Were Liars, contains many Words of the Wiser. When reading this book I believed that young teen girls specifically between the ages of 13-15 would enjoy reading this book because of the events taking place in the book. Teen agers wish that they could escape somewhere on a beach and to be surrounded by there friends. We Were Liars takes the beach scene story to the next level by adding romance and suspense. I think that teenage girls would enjoy reading this not because they can relate to the story but because of the excitement it leaves throughout the story. Lockhart's book, We Were Liars, explains the theme of strength through this quote, "I will prove myself strong, when they think I am sick. I will prove myself brave, when they think  I am weak." (Lockhart 142) This quote explains the importance of strength and perseverance in tough times. We see many famous people go through this theme everyday. For example, Nastia Liukin Olympic gymnast is known for her performances on the uneven bars and balance beam. These events were her way into the 2008 Olympics due to her placing first in these events at Worlds in 2005 and 2007. Many do not know that she suffered from many ankle and back injuries prior to the 2008 Olympic trials. But that did not stop her. She had worked her entire life to make her spot on the Olympic team and she was not ready to give up her spot. Nastia said in an interview, "when you feel like giving up, remember why you've held on for so long." She made the team despite her injuries and ended up with 5 Olympic medals at the 2008 Olympic games.
