My theory is that big scary Trojans attacked them and ate their heads off their necks. They then felt like it would be funny if they payed "jail". They didn't want to get hurt so they used the bodies instead. That's my theory.

My theory is the skeletons were prisoners of war. The reason I believe, is the prisoners were ordered to give valuable information about the other side. They obviously didn't comply therefore causing the removal of their heads.

My (first) theory is that the skeletons were beheaded before death, as some sort of human sacrifice to a god they worshipped. My (second) theory is it could have been a mass punishment for a group trying to overthrow the Emperor (or whatever title the ruler held). Like an American Revolution, except it was the Romans My (third) theory is that it involved an unrecorded event of the superstition that vampires exist, because of the placing of the body parts, as the people in the Middle Ages mixed the bones of the dead, because they hoped that it would keep the dead from rising again

My Theory is that the skeletons are from Romans that rebelled. Since the Romans clearly knew about anatomy then they must have beheaded them for a punishment. The reason that they moved the heads were to confuse the spirits of the soldiers in the afterlife. The man with shackles was to chain him in his grave, and the man that had his head turned into the ground, his head was placed that way so that his spirit would face the wrong way.

My theory is that the skeletons were the prisoners or slaves that were beheaded in death due to the superstition the Romans had that if the bodies weren't beheaded the souls would linger and haunt as they were angry souls who died a slow death rather than a soul that was put smoothly and quickly into the otherworld.
