This has been good in some ways because, we can warn each other about parts of a lesson that did not go as we hoped! This might include techniques, crazy questions, or how it was introduced by the series. One example is in science. Colored picture cards were not provided for a lesson that REALLY needed them. We made sure to get colored copies for the next time we were teaching the lesson. This made a big difference, and the lesson was much more successful. There have also been times when using the Go Math curriculum that a lesson is not going well. We were apprehensive at first, but as a team we decided to embrace it. We continuously implement it in more areas of our curriculum. Students are not only exposed to technology in a format of a standardized test, they get instant feedback, and we are able to gather data to drive our instruction. This is a great way to build community and learn new techniques. It was difficult to have to give up your prep time to attend pineapple chart lessons. Would it be possible to get a para to cover your room when there is a lesson you are wanting to see? We would love to have time to see each other teaching guided reading or other lessons.
