Gabby Tlapa / Three Quarter Profile

For the project, I had to draw a three quarter profile of a woman. The shading and shape of the face was the most difficult part because I had to get the right proportions for her nose, lips and chin. The shading around the eye was the hardest because I didn't want to push to hard but I also didn't what to have it to light. I ran into the same problem with the shading on the neck.

For this exercise, I had to draw preferably two mouths and noses, even though I only got to one nose. I used three different colored Cray-Pas when drawing to show the darks and lights on the face round the nose and mouths. I would of liked to get a second nose down on the page but I didnt have enough time.

Gabby Tlapa / Self Portrait

Having to do a self portrait was probably the hardest part about having to do this drawing. I did what generally almost everyone does when they draw a face, they make the eyes big and end up having a small nose and mouth and thats where I think I messed up. I didn't proportion the face the right way and made the eyes to big, not leaving enough room for the lips and nose.

Gabby Tlapa / Figure Sketch 1

For the figure sketches, we had 15 - 20 minutes to sketch a classmate that was sitting in a chair or doing a random position. I chose this sketch because I think I did a good job with the proportions accept when it comes to the legs. I tried to evenly proportion where everything would go but I messed up on the legs and mede them smaller, skinnier especially on the lower leg by the ankle and foot.

This figure sketch is my favorite sketch because I think I did a good job having the proportions even and look like they fit together. I think I could have done a little better job on the feet and the shoes but I like it the way it is. The hardest part was getting the head the right size and face down at the right angle.
