Stalin gained his power by skillfully and clever fully manipulating others to do what he wanted to do. He managed to take out Lenin from his competition and eventually "assassinated Leon Trotsky" so that himself can be the new leader. With this new power he gained even more power by replacing Lenin's New economy plan with his "command economy." This allowed him to gain more power over the people due to now the government making all decisions so he could do anything he wanted. To than maintain his power he killed anyone that he believed was going to go against him. This resulted in Stalin making trials in which people today say were just murder trials in public because millions died in these so called "trials" which were not really trials at all. This and along with him starving tons of people due to him taking away people's food in a event called Holodomor made people feared him which is what he wanted because now no one could stop him from doing anything he wanted. This shows how Joseph Stalin gained and consolidated/maintain his power.

Stalin gained his power by elimination all possible competition resulting him t be the only one left. He manipulated many people and expelled them. Stalin had the "ability to maneuver in the Soviet government" which gave him great advantages, so no one challenged him. Stalin consolidated power in the Soviet Union by changing various things like Lenin's New Economic Policy. He developed a command economy where the government took control of economic decisions. Five Year Plans were created and they were successful. They set "high production goals for industries like, mining, railroads, electric plants and manufactures." Lastly, Stalin maintained his power by making people fear him. Stalin had a secret police and he used those forces to "eliminate all enemies, real or perceived." He started something called the "Great Purge" and those who were a target had severe measures. They were either "banished to labor camps to execution after trials." Many of them were petrified of him that they even confessed to crimes that they didn't even do. It was easier and cheaper for the Soviet government to take them to the camps than to keep an eye on the person. With this, it depicts how Stalin gained, consolidated, and maintained his power.

Stalin had gained power through the "ability to maneuver in the soviet government." This meant that Stalin was keen and able to do things that others could not. He was best known for always getting a job done no matter the precautions he had to take. So being manipulative really helped him out a lot in taking out Trotsky and gaining the governmental right over the Soviet Union. to consolidate his power he created five year plans which were successful, and set high production demands. they had high goals which were met and helped further the Soviet Union. Staling managed to maintain his power through fear. After Stalin's assassination attempt he decided to create secret police to diminish those who opposed them. In this came the great purge where more than thousands died or send to labor camps. by putting fear into the hearts of others he could continue his reign and not have to worry about his opposing enemies.

Stalin had gained his power by making his competition look bad. Stalin made Trotsky look disloyal to their former leader Lenin. He made Trotsky miss Lenin's funeral, and brought up old disagreements between Trotsky and Lenin to poison the public's view on Trotsky. Stalin created a five year plan to consolidate power. The plan was to industrialize the Soviet Union, and produce more food. The five year plan was successful and set high production for mining, railroads, and other manufactures. Stalin maintained power in the Soviet Union by having the Great purge. Stalin created the Great purge to eliminate anyone who disagreed with him and his beliefs. This allowed Stalin to maintain full power without out anyone challenging his ideas, because everyone feared him. He even had a secret police force out to spy on citizens to see if they did anything suspicious. This is how Stalin gained, consolidated, and maintained power.

Stalin gained power by elimainating the leading leaders for the head of government. The only canindates suitable for head of government were Stalin and Trotsky. In order for Stalin to become head he had fooled Trotsky to believe that lennin funneral date was on a different day making him look like a disloyal person to lenin. Totsky was then exlled and elimainated giving Stalin the opportunity to gain power. Stalin was able to consolidate power during the great purge. He used espionage to his advange and created a secret police to assiasante anyone he wanted dead or totured. Stalin ofted used this technique to continue to consoliate power.Stalin continued to consolidate power by using praproganda and his five year plan. The people used arbritrartily to elimate people who they wanted gone or just to redeem themselves which made stalin more power. Stalin mantained power by making people fear him. He had those who didn't follow his rules to be killed or even sent to concentration camps. In these camps, Stalin had a famine where people were starving and dying. The camps were due to collectivisium, process of farmers working on land that was owned by the goverment, leding to a holodomor.

Stalin and his allies expelled Trotsky from the Communist Party and exiled him. To consolidate power by creating a secret police and purging all that did not support him and communism, the attacks and police took power from the people because they were now fearful of standing up against Stalin.

Joseph Stalin , a manipulative man who always tried to get the people to believe he was a caring strong leader who in visioned the best for the Soviet Union, has rose to power after Vladimir's death and sabotaged Leon Trotsky to secure his own place as ruler for the Soviet Union. Stalin's use of propaganda in his posters have shown that he is gaining power because he is earning the respect of the people so that they would choose him and so he could gain the full support of the people. Another way Stalin gained power is by taking it from Ukraine and the way he did this is by taking over Ukrainian land so that he could take the resources and food to support the Soviet Union but because of his commands he started the Ukrainian famine where thousands died. Stalin also Consolidated power by directing all of attention to improving science in the Soviet Union and he also gained more power by creating the "Five Year Plan" where the plans were "successful in increasing the industrial" and would then become the world leader in industrial goods as seen in doc 3.

Stalin gained power by using espionage (doc#5) and with the Great Purge. By spying on other countries and people he was able to take them down if he needed to, which is why he took Trotsky out, so that he wouldn't be a problem to him anymore. With the purge Stalin gained power because now people were more scared to oppose to Stalin no matter the situation. Those who did opposed got killed. Sometimes if those people were in textbooks or in posters they were taken off from them as a form of saying that they never existed(doc#5). Another from that Stalin gained power was with collectivization because with this he took full control over people and land. Stalin made people work for food and this help the Soviet Union to industrialize much faster, making it the world leader in Industry(Doc#4).

Stalin gained power by gradually eliminating any opposition after the death of Lenin. By eventually sending Trotsky, he had a better chance of replacing Lenin and he soon established himself as the new leader of the Soviet government as his" ability to maneuver in the Soviet government gave him a great deal of control and prevented others from challenging him.". After gaining enough power through his manipulative ways, he began to consolidate it or make it stronger by spreading propaganda to make him appear like the perfect leader. Special processes were used to make it seem as though Stalin also participated in planning the revolution. He made himself appear to be kind hearted man while in reality, he used very cruel and and brutal ways to maintain his power and newly established government. In his journey to completely set his power in place and maintain it, Stalin conducted mass executions and new policies which instilled fear among the people of the Soviet union as seen in document 5. In order to prevent any question to his power, he also prevented education to be 'tainted' with information that went against the the concepts of his established government.

Stalin gain power by using skill in the government. In document 1 it states, Stalin’s ability to “maneuver” in the government have him a “great deal of control” and “prevented others” from “challenging” him. This shows that he was able to manipulate people in the government to get what he wanted, control. This made people fear him because of what he can do.Furthermore, Stalin consolidated power by censoring information that could jeopardize the government and his beliefs. In document 6 it explains that writers and artists whose creation were “critical of the government” were “punished” often arrested or “executed”. This shows that Stalin would not allow anyone to jeopardize his plans. He did this so that people would become powerless.Lastly, he maintained power by eliminating people who may be an obstacle. In document 5 it states, Stalin “took use”of such forces, secret police, to a ”new level” in order to “solidify “ his power and “eliminate all enemies” whether or not they are “real” or “perceived”. This shows that Stalin did not like people who were against him. Those who may be a threat or seemed like a threat, would be eliminated. He did not like to compete with anyone and liked for everything to go his way.

Stalin gained power with his ability to manipulate others. He was able to" influence the beliefs and actions of the Russian people" with the use of propaganda's like "radio, posters, movies, lectures, art, education, newspapers, books, and theatre" as shown in in document 2. This was used to "influence the opinions of Soviet Citizens and to put a positive spin on the governments actions". In addition, he also consolidated power with the help of the secret government and the Great Purge. As shown in document 5, "Stalin consolidated near-absolute power" with a "Great Purge of the communist party". By doing so, he was able to banish, expel, and put into labor camps, those who were known for their "anti-Soviet activities". "Workers would report on his boss, son on his father, and a young man on his brother". Those accused would easily be in the "Cycle of persecution and abuse, often proceeding to interrogation, torture and deportation, if not death". Lastly, he maintained power with the use of ideological control with document 6. According to document 6, he made sure that "the government attempted to control the ideas and culture that it's citizens were exposed to ". He allowed the ideas of science "that did not contradict Marxism, Leninism, or Stalin's belief..". He also allowed "the art and literature that glorified Stalin and the state" and made sure that they were "encouraged". this is how Stalin gained, consolidated and maintained power.

Joseph Stalin used many methods to gain, consolidate, and maintain power. After the death of Lenin, Stalin eliminated his competition, Leon Trotsky by sabotaging his image with the help of two members of the Communist Party. After expelling and exiling Trotsky, he also ended up expelling these two members from the Communist Party. This was how Stalin gained power in the Soviet Union as stated in document 1, "Stalin’s ability to maneuver in the Soviet government gave him a great deal of control and prevented others from challenging him." As Stalin was very manipulated he got away with the things he did to the Soviet society because as he got control over the people he created fear within them. He consolidated his power by replacing Lenin's NEP with his own system called a Command Economy. This system allowed collectivization to happen which meant that all of the lands from the peasants and farmers were taken away and controlled by the government. They didn't have a say and were under political control, if a violent reaction was seen from them it was "heavily suppressed by the Red Army (Document 4)." Stalin consolidated his power because he used the Soviet government to control the Soviet people into giving him more power in where he could profit from. He maintained his power through the secret police and the great purges. Through these methods Stalin was able to eliminate those in his way.
