It help these people overcome mental illnesses. Eli’s place will  have a long lasting effect on people because mental illnesses can impact anyone in any society or community and most people live with their disorder for a lot of their life, so it is important that they know how to live with it happily.

They started Eli’s Place when their son, Eli, committed suicide at 30 years old because he was unable to live a happy life with depression bipolar disorder They learned a lot about how people's lives, and how many people around us are affected by mental illnesses. The organization has committees of people volunteering and a board of directors made up of 10 people.

Deborah and David Cooper's ultimate goal is to teach young adults how to live with their mental illness and cope. They want to help people who are 19-35 specifically because they believe that this age range is not helped as much as teenagers, or older adults or senior citizens.
