Hydroelectric power is a key part for development and wealth for nations with large amounts of river water and the economic resources to build dams. Hydropower is renewable, pollution-free alternative to other forms of producing electricity. It is largest and oldest renewable energy source for electricity generation in U.S.

Hydro-power is fueled by water- its clean- doesn’t pollute air like power plants. Hyrdro-power is domestic source of energy- allows each state to produce their own energy without being reliant on international fuel sources. Impoundment hydropower creates reservoirs that offer a lot of recreational opportunities. Some hydropower facilities can go from zero power to maxim output- quickly generate electricity. Flood control, irrigation and water supply.

Harnessing the power of water is the cheapest form of energy. Depending on how much power the system outputs is what determines the cost of building. It ranges from about $224,315 to $212,369,600.

It is produced from moving water. The volume of water flow and the change in election determines the amount of available energy in moving water. Water flows through a pipe and pushes against and turns the blades in the turbine to spine the generator to produce electricity. Hydropower relies on the water cycle. Solar energy heats the water on the surface of rivers, lakes, and oceans and that causes the water to evaporate. Water vapor condenses into cloud and falls as precipitations. Precipitation collects in streams and rivers, which empty into oceans and lakes
