         <description><![CDATA[<p>My students access Google Drive every day during Writers' Workshop and use this to not only access our classroom anchor charts, rubrics, links connected with our writing topic, and student examples, but they also have their own writing folders where they have a collection of their writing that they can share with myself and others. We never have the issue of losing papers or notebooks, especially when students have writing homework or if parents want to see the work students are producing (either collaboratively or independently).</p><p>I have included a photo of our current writing unit's folder.</p>]]></description>

Having the iPads allows them to always have access to their research and their writing. I love the ability to write comments to my students on their papers through the entire writing process from first draft to publication</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>For Civil Rights Day, our fifth grade used story boards in Discovery Education to gain background knowledge of important figures in history.  After working with the boards, students went to Answer Garden and posted ideas and thoughts they gained.  The Answer Garden then guided our class discussion.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Todd- We are just starting our Environments unit.  Jennifer helped me  design a doceri lesson. First we used Haiku deck to make the slides. We then did screen captures and pasted them in Doceri. I thne recorded me instructions for each page, including instructions for the students to pause the video and write in their notebooks.  I am now trying the same thing for Grammar lessons.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Instead of students copying information about cradle boards and travois, I found a website with information and pictures. The students recorded facts in their notebook then created a pic collage with a picture and the facts.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>My students used Pic Collage to make a diagrams with pictures of their seeds. They were able to track the growth process with pictures so they could later make comparisons. I find that by using the iPad as a science notebook, the students' notes are more organized and more accurate (due to picture data &amp; easy access to revising notes).</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>My students have been working on area and perimeter. This lesson was a reteaching of drawing 2 rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas. They have struggled with this. They built them with tiles and then I had them draw them in the iPad in Docier(sp?). They were much more successful than paper pencil.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>We created a unit on Colonial America. Students were assigned a colony and had to read a section out of their Social Studies book and answer questions. Next, they watched a video on their colony in Discovery Education and took notes. Finally, they put together a presentation using Educreations, Haiku Deck, Camera Roll, and 30 Hands. They did not talk on their video because they presented it to the class.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I have some students using Edmodo for student council and NOVA.  The idea for student council was for committee groups to report the progress of committees.  This has not been fully successful yet but a start.  Also my NOVA students are all on Edmodo now.  I would like them to enter ideas of what they are doing in their grade level groups.  Not sure what else to do with this.</p>]]></description>
