Material 1: Watercolor

Watercolor sparks a mind's creativity. Students can experiment with watercolor to allow their imagination to create while watercolor being a safe option. When the watercolor is fading into the color beside it, new colors and ideas come to mind, sparking more creativity.

Material 2: Play-dough

Play-dough supports student's exploring new textures, problem-solving skills while molding play-dough into something new, and recognizing different colors as well imagining the possibilities they can create

Students are able to choose a color of play-dough they want to create with. Cookie-cutter shapes will be provided for student's to shape play-dough into what they imagine, different sculptures, different colors of play-dough to create something greater. Students are able to use their creativity to mold play-dough into different structures and include learning material to create characters from books, settings, and more to understand better!

Material 3: Crayola Crayons

Crayola Crayons are a washable and safe resource for young students to use for all crafts and activities. Students can choose different colors, draw anything from their imagination and allow something to come to life. Students are able to express their thoughts/feelings through different colors, and new designs are to no extent! Students have no barrier to their imagination, and the ability to draw designs flowing from the imagination.

Material 4: Acrylic Craft Paint

Experience 1: Story-book Emotions puppet performance

What it entails: Students can choose a character from the story book, for example from my vision board (One More Story Tata!),

and act out their chosen character's emotion including specific details from the text. Students can work in small groups of 3-4 students to choose a scene from the text to act out with their finger puppet.

How this nurtures creativity: Students are able to envision their character's emotion by understanding the text and pictures, and use their cognitive skills to create a connection. Students express their creativity through their performance, and engaging in role-play.

Experience 2: At-home plant a flower

What it entails: Students are able to plant a flower of their own at home! Students can paint their planter, use a shovel to plant dirt, choose their flower seeds, learn how to grow a flower and use potting gloves to continue to care for their flower.

How this nurtures creativity: Students are able to use their creativity to design their unique flower planter, choose their unique flower, and must use critical thinking skills, memorization skills and motor skills to take care of their flower. Students can make a connection while watching a seedling grow into a beautiful flower. Students can make this their own, and begin to learn and make connections with their flower from beginning to end.

Experience 3: Melted-wax art with crayons

What it entails: Students can choose their favorite colors of Crayola crayons and lay them on a piece of paper or canvas provided. Using a hair dryer, this will work to melt the crayon's wax into a beautiful unique design of personal chosen colors to create a masterpiece.

How this nurtures creativity: Students must be creative in choosing their crayon colors for their picture, and let their imagination take them in their own, unique way of creating this project. Students can also work together to help one another promoting teamwork and collaboration skills.

Experience 4: "Telephone" reading

What it entails: Students chose a book of their choice to independently read to themselves, however they must read aloud into their "telephone" which repeats the sounds they are making back to them. This creates repetition and a quick way for students to work on reading comprehension and well as correcting their own mistakes while reading.

How this nurtures creativity: Students are able to hear and recognize their own voice while reading aloud through their "telephone". Students can learn to emphasize certain words and the impact that has on a text. Students must think critically, use their imagination while reading to make connections, and altogether they are able to improve their unique way of reading a text.

Experience 5: Dance Breaks (GoNoodle)

What it entails: GoNoodle is an excellent resource for students to chose a song to sing, dance, and express themselves too! Student's will tact into their own emotion to choose a song that correlates in a positive way to dance too! Students are free to let loose, move their bodies, communicate with their peers, and connect with themselves internally to re-charge and be motivated and ready to go for the rest of their day.

How this futures creativity: Students are able to make that connection within themselves and their emotion to choose a positive-outlook song for the class to take a break with and dance along too. This engages classmates with one another, promotes communication, and allows for students to re-charge, while being creative with their dance moves.
