I chose the tree of life. This particular picture of the tree of life shows attachments to bacteria, molecules, vertebrates, insects, larger bugs, crustaceans, reptiles, animals, mammals, and many more. This image displays the cycle of life and how everything starts from The soil of earth and grows into plants/trees. Trees take away carbon dioxide and provide us with oxygen and food to other types of species. These species are consumed by others and even us. When animals and humans die they are given back to the soil and the process repeats itself. Tress are also used for shelter, warmth, and travel. With out the trees and plants the process wouldn’t start and we wouldn’t survive.

To be completely honest I initially picked this video on photosynthesis because it is entertaining(especially if you know the original song). Also, the video is a very catchy way to remember the process and the formula for photosynthesis. I watched several other videos that seemed to contain too much information and then the process starts to get muddy. This video gives a clear understanding of what is happening when photosynthesis occurs.

Below is a picture of an Abies Fraseri Cone. I got this image from http://facultyweb.kennesaw.edu/jmcneal7/courses/biology-4322/gymnosperms.php An Abies Fraseri cone is a Gymnosperm. This website breaks down the anatomy, difference in. the species, and genders of the plants. There are only three types of Gymnosperms is Georgia. Pinaceae is what we know as pinecones. Which is the species of an Abies Fraseri. I have also listed some characteristics of these plants, that got from https://golgibodygeorgiabio11.weebly.com/plants.html

Abies Fraseri

-female cones

Gymnosperms - vascular
- true roots
- leaves modified into needles
- needles coated with resin for antifreeze
- heteropory
- naked seeds (no fruit)
- pollen
- life cycle with dominant sporophyte stage
- not reliant on water for reproduction
- male and female cones

I believe grasslands are an endangered biome. Especially in places like Sydney, Australia. Australia has been experiencing intense forest fires. Forest fires are normal and expected for Australia’s dry lands. The climate change has been one of the causes of forest fires, but a 3 month long uncontrollable fire spread was unexpected. The lightening caused over 16 million acres to go up in flames. The fires even started to spread to population areas causing deaths and over hundreds of millions of animals to vanish away. The bushfires in Australia this season have burned about eight times as much land as the 2018 fires in California, which covered nearly two million acres and were the worst in that state’s recorded history. California also had extreme forest fires.

There are several positive effects of the first agriculture revolution. When farming was had became successful hunter and gathers started to settle in to land. So there was less migration more time for families. When the growth of people rapidly increased, social norms were needed to keep things civilized. Part of those social norms were new jobs and territory. Which lead to social classes and land that we now know as cities.

Originally the horse power machine was made to cut down and bundle crops. The horses pulled the machine along the fields but it was still manually operated and then much more physical labor by people was to be carried out after that. Eventually over time the combine developed and still is developing to fit the needs of today. Combines do the completely harvesting from reaping, thrashing, and winnowing. Combines economically save as they take on all the labor cutting down the need to pay people b y 50%.

As we continue to do that, we put ourselves and the planet in even more harms way of the sun, which causes rapidly increasing temperatures. The extreme heat is causing natural forest fires and melting ice in the coldest places. This video is settle but drastic view of what earth would look like and what cities, states, and countries we would lose.
