Please post your name at the top, not "Reflection" as the title before you respond. What did this make you think about? How did seeing all of this affect you? Do you now see what it means to help those in need, even if it means putting yourself in danger? Explain.

This made me think about how many lives were lost in the holocaust and how many more people died in the holocaust then in this pandemic. I also thought if people are freaking out this much about the Coronavirus than how much did people panic from WW2. Seeing all this made me really realize how terrible all this is and what really happened. Yes I know that if you helped someone by hiding them away if they were a Jew and you got caught you would die too.

This made me think about how I would feel if this happened to me and how I would have responded. Seeing this affected me because it shows me how lucky I am to be in a free country. Now I see why it is really important to help those in need even if I could be harmed. Sometimes it is just worth helping someone out.

What this makes me think about is how terrible people have been treated. How terrible people can treat other people. Seeing this affects me because it makes me think about how I should treat people. I should treat them with respect and as an equal no matter what culture they come from. Yes I see what it means to help those in need, even if it means putting myself in danger. Everyone should be kept safe and if they are not safe it is only fair to help them.

This made me think about how cruel people can be to someone just because of nationality (it also applies to race and gender as well). This really made me feel bad for everyone that had to deal with this and it also made me feel enraged over the way that innocent, young, kind, and just very good people were getting treated. This would make me more likely to stand up for something. For ex. Someone is speaking their belief about religion and someone else starts making fun of them or they get called stupid for believing that. Even if it was just a thought that they had in their head or an idea, it doesn’t make it right to do that to someone. I would have stood up for someone before but I would do it more often now or try harder so that person doesn’t get bullied or harassed over something that they believe or something that they can’t control.

It helps me see that I need to help those who are in danger even if it puts me in danger. After reading this it has made me feel bad and wish that I could help some of those people that were in need during those terrible times.

Hearing all of those facts about the Holocaust made me think about what would do if I lived in Germany during that time. It made me sad that anyone had to go through what the victims of the Holocaust had to to go through. I think that helping those in need, even when it puts you in danger means fighting for what’s right and what will help everyone even if it puts you in danger.

Seeing this did affect me into becoming much more grateful for what I have and more mindful when it comes to comments about the holocaust. I do now see what it means to really help somebody in need even if it is at the cost of endangering myself.

This made me think about World War 2 very differently. What I mean by this is, usually when I watch history shows about World War 2, it really just talks about the Allied forces fighting the Axis Allies. But in reality, there was a whole nother fight going on. I don't think the Americans really knew anything about this, I mean they probably had an idea of something that was going on in Germany, but not to the extent that we now know. So that's what affects me the most, besides all of the innocent lives that were lost, how did they keep all of that a secret? And yes I would try to help those in need, even if it does mean putting myself in danger. If you watch any war show with real vets, they usually say, “ the best way to function on a battlefield, is to accept the fact that you are already dead.” So if I had to do that to save people that went through that, I would.

This made me think about how awful the Holocaust was. It affected me by making me think about how we can’t let something like this happen again. Yes I do, if someone is in danger your can’t stand back and watch and this is an example of how bad it can get.
