Lyric analysis

Fireworks

Money just changed everything
I wonder how life without it would go
From the concrete who knew that a flower would grow
Lookin' down from the top and it's crowded below
My fifteen minutes started an hour ago

Truth over fame, you know I respect the blatant shit
When I hear dem talkin, I just don't know what to make of it
Hate is so familiar to me, I'm slowly embracing it
Doesn't come natural, bear with me it could take a bit
Yeah, and my dreams who I'm racing with
And you can see I'm pacin it so that I'm always chasin it

This songs speaks a lot and means a lot in one. The most important lyric that makes the whole song click together is "When I hear dem talkin, I just don't know what to make of it
Hate is so familiar to me, I'm slowly embracing it". The lyric is talking about how you're always gonna hear somebody talking about you sometimes you might not know how to deal with it you might feel a little angry, maybe even sad, but slowly you have to start embracing it. You cant let what people say bother nor affect you or make you feel overly emotional take it and move on. Other then that the whole songs talks about how things change life, you , and people. How you just have to keep lighting up like a firework and chasing the dream

I remember for all the dogs drakes album came out October 2023, around this time I was in a very toxic relationship, I was upset everyday, sad,mad all of the above. When I first heard this song it made me feel understood like everything I felt click in one song. It was on repeat for days, because I finally felt like someone actually knew how I felt, like they experience the same feelings. This is why this song means a lot to me.

Toronto name has never change when it was first founded in 1793. The name Toronto is believed to come from a Mohawk word meaning “place where trees stand in water.

Drake was raised in two neighborhoods. He lived on Weston Road in Toronto's working-class west end until grade six and attended Weston Memorial Junior Public School. He also played minor hockey, he then moved to one of the city's affluent neighborhoods, Forest Hill , in 2000. When the media asked him how it was in an interview he stated "[We had] half of a house we could live in. The other people had the top half, we had the bottom half. I lived in the basement, my mom lived on the first floor. It was not big, it was not luxurious. It was what we could afford."

He attended Forest Hill Collegiate Institute for high school, and attended Vaughan Road Academy in Toronto's multicultural. Drake described Vaughan Road Academy as not by any means the easiest school to go to. Drake said he was bullied at school for his racial and religious background. Drake started to act in high school but he saw that school was getting in the way so he ended up dropping out.

This album correlates with Drake album Thank Me Later and Take Care. In those two albums he's talks about the struggled to make amends on his old life and relationships with his new found fame. In this album it was still the same thing, but the tone in this album is no longer so sad or wounded or conflicted. He finally speaks like he adjusted, and found his place in his new life. The title of this albums mean the change that fame brought to Drake’s circumstances, but the lyrics the lyrics are stating on how Drake is still himself, that himself is the same. The album cover is also Drake looking at his younger self and his younger self looking at him, their both looking on how far they both came, Drake is reminiscing his younger self seeing how far he has gotten, while his younger self is looking on how bright his future is.

Drake, The Weeknd.

Shot For Me. Drake

I honestly love almost all the songs on this album, each are so different in there own ways, but make me feel the same. Each of these songs have a different meaning, but come down to the same thing, I interpenetrated them by thinking they talk about self love and succession. That motivates me to do better with myself and my life and that's why these are my top 5 songs.
