I knew I would have fun trying to recreate it using just candy. My materials included blue, yellow and red m&ms, as well as marshmallows and black licorice. My materials included objects I found all over my house, I even used a sheet to try and depict the woman's dress since I don't have a white dress. I used the most neutral shirt I have to wear in the recreating because obviously I needed to wear something on the top half unlike in the real artwork. Gathering the materials was a pretty quick process, the hardest part in my recreation process was trying to get the mirror angle right so you could actually see me in the reflection. I chose this because Nan Madol has always reminded me of Lincoln Logs in the way it utilizes stacked columns. Since I didn't have those, the next thing that popped into my head was using pretzel rods and sticks! I also used shredded lettuce because it resembles the greenery of the scene. The only materials I needed for this was myself, my dog, and some treats. I didn't have anything very similar to the base that the real Androgyne sits on, so I used the closest thing I had, the coffee table from my living room. I also chose to move the table to my foyer so I could get the sharp lighting that would show the details of his back like the original piece.
