I’ve learned so much from my CT, Ms. Meitler, so far. Classroom management has been a big one and emphasizing that every classroom will be different. She’s also been letting me help with guided reading groups which has helped me learn more about each student and their needs in the classroom! -Chloe Avila

I have learned a lot from my CT Ms. Logan, all or most of the proper ways to give assessments to students, while also working with small groups in readings.

I've learned so much from my amazing mentor, Ms. Callahan! She's included me and makes me feel apart of the 4th grade team! She's taught me what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to STAAR, planning, or even solving problems. She's giving me amazing chances and opportunities when it comes to working with the students. A few things that stands out to me is that she handles any situation that is thrown to her, she's always one step ahead, and always goes in depth when it comes to explaining what goes on. She always thinks of me when there is a learning opportunity and she is the best at explaining what is going on. I am already becoming a better teacher because of her and it's barely been a month. She has been nothing but amazing! I can't wait to see what the year holds!

I have learned tons from Mrs.Hampton! It has been a wild ride so far but I learn and grow more confident as a teacher everyday in her classroom. I never imagined being in a kindergarten classroom and I have learned about so much. I have learned daily routines, behavior management, holiday schedules, and so much more. Mrs.Hampton takes the time to walk me through what and WHY we are doing things the way we do in her class. She unfortunately has been out sick this week and I was able to really test what I have been learning with the help of the wonderful sub, the principle, and the kindergarten team. It was definitely a challenge but I have a lot to learn. Mrs. Hampton allows me to jump in when I feel comfortable. I spent the first week or two really getting to know the class and the students. I learned everyones names and created relationships with each student. Now I assist with their daily activities and walk around to help assist students with their work and stay on task. -Shea Vandeman

Ms. Locklear is a phenomenal teacher and I am so lucky to be learning from her. I am finding my voice as a teacher finally and feeling much more confident in the classroom because of her encouragement. I have been able to learn a lot about how to adapt teaching for individual students and to say that she can overcome all challenges in her classroom (which I have seen a few), would be a HUGE understatement. She is a PRO. She answers any questions I have and is very honest about the challenges about being an educator which I appreciate so much!! It is very obvious when someone is meant to be a teacher and I think Ms. Locklear is a perfect example of that. I cannot wait to see what else this year will bring for me. -Meagan Stovall :)

I have learned from my CT how important it is to have structure and a schedule for the students. She has also taught me how to be confident within the classroom.

I’ve learned tips about classroom management and parents. I also learned how to work the printer/ copy machine. I’ve learned about different programs and apps the teachers and students use.

My CT, Ms. Hornsby, is one of a kind in the best way. Almost immediately, since day 1, I was able to interact with the students, walk them through their assignments, and she allowed to me to help her with activities and read-alouds. I am gaining so much insight on how to be a teacher through her, and then I am able to fabricate my ideals as a future educator. I am a visual learner, so being able to see in-person the various ways to go about lessons, lesson planning, and executing that plan allows me the opportunity to recycle her methods or put my own twist on them that suits me. I truly appreciate her and her openness to me being in the classroom and assisting her wherever she needs me to be.

I’ve been learning a lot in my classroom with my CT Ms. Thomas! She’s given me opportunities to help with the students in the classroom allowing me to be able to practice guiding the students through their math problems!

She has also helped me to build confidence in the classroom and has been slowly providing me more tasks so I can gradually move out of my comfort zone. She’s also helped me to learn about structure and addressing behaviors in the classroom as well!

I feel like I’ve been learning quite a bit in the classroom and look forward to being able to help the students more often and more confidently!!!

Ms. Rivera has been amazing! I value her transparency and honesty. She has assured I am included in all things throughout the day and willing to talk with me about anything I have questions or concerns about. She has opened my eyes to seeing all sides of teaching and the different ways things can be done. Her encouragement and support has been greatly appreciated and I am so thankful to have her as my CT. It has only been around a month of us being together but within that time I’ve learned so much and it feels like I’ve been with the class and her for so long already :)

I’ve learned Mr. Saucedo advocates for the Spanish language in his class. He believes Spanish should be as important as English especially because Spanish is the first language of his students, he loves to see them succeed in their native language. He also taught me and started my portfolio of classroom activities sheets.

I have enjoyed my time at Lagos, and can’t say anything but great things about Mrs. Phelps & the fourth grade team. I like how they make an effort to bring the fun into learning. I have seen how well my CT can manage her students and their behavior. I currently help out by walking around the classroom and guiding students through their work when needed.

Working alongside my CT, Mrs Thompson has been a great experience! I've learned the importance of small group instruction. Mrs Thompson has provided me with opportunities to work closely with small group of students, allowing me to observe their individual learning styles. I have enjoyed cultivating relationships with the students. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow throughout this experience!

Ms. Jackson is an amazing teacher and I am so glad she is my Mentor teacher! I have learned so much about classroom management, establishing routines, and lesson planning from her! She has allowed me to jump in since day 1 and I have loved being in her classroom and at Bluebonnet Trail Elementary! She is so wonderful!!
