The black plague (1346 – 1353)

The black plague was a deadly virus that struck the city of Messina, Sicily, and it continued to spread out to all of Europe. It killed about 50 million people (30 to 60% of the population). It was so deadly that if you were to get the virus you were most likely to die because of how strong it was and because of the lack of advanced medicine to treat it. This was one of the most deadliest viruses to ever exist but now it is almost like it doesn't exist in the modern world today. People can still can the black plague but thanks to our advanced medicine we can treat it easily.

The Haitian Revolution (1791-1804)

The Haitian revolution was the only revolution in history where slaves won against their owners. The slaves were fighting against the french and actually won because of the lack of battle IQ. When the slaves won against the french everyone was surprised because France was one of the strongest of its time and it lost to slaves on an island with stolen weapons. The leader of the slaves was the only slave freed during this time but he was tricked into signing something and he was killed shortly after. The slaves were devastated when they heard that their leader had died but that did not stop them from killing all of the owners and the guards.

The invention of the Steam engine (1712)

The invention of the steam engine really made a big impact on the modern world today. If not for the steam engine we would not have most of the things we have today like cars and electricity. The inventor (Thomas Newcomen) was known for making very useful inventions like the atmospheric engine. This invention has a lot of pros but it also has a lot of cons the main con of this invention is air pollution. This is because the engines need fuel and the fuel needs to burn and when they fuel burns it makes gas and people made things called chimneys to make the gas go up so that they weren't breathing fuel into their lungs.

The Wright Brothers & the airplane (1903)

The wright brothers were the first two people to ever fly and to ever create a working airplane. These two people are definitely two of the most popular inventors because of the impact this had on the modern world. Without the wright brothers we would not be able to fly and get to places way easier than walking or by boat. these two are the most important inventors under Johann Gutenberg, the inventor who made the printing press. The thing that launched the plane off of the ground was a toy.

The Berlin Conference (1884 - 1885)

The Berlin conference was put in place because people with higher power all wanted a piece of Africa because of the rich resources and because there is plenty of land that they could use. Almost all of Africa was being used up by Germany leaving no space for other continents. All of the

German nationalists were using the parts of Africa for a lot of things but the two major things they were getting out of it were slaves and rubber. In the early 1800's factories all over the world started demanding for gold, timber, and rubber. Africa and its inhabitants were always enslaved and used for the work of other people. By the start on 1945 Africa was a free continent and was able to do whatever it wanted.

Printing Press invented ( 1440 )

The printing press allowed for magazines and news papers to be more easily produced because of the amount of time it saved. The printing press helped out a lot of people because it was so time saving and it helped the churches out a lot because it allowed them to release a lot more Bibles. Before this invention was invented people had to write books by hand and that would take a long time, especially if somebody was writing the bible by hand. The inventor (Johann Gutenberg) was called one of the most important inventors in the history of mankind. Johann Gutenberg was the son of a goldsmith and he grew up with a lavish and luxurious life style.

Scientific Revolution ( 1550 - 1700 )

The scientific revolution lasted almost 200 years and it changed religion completely. It is said that by the end of this revolution science has replaced Christianity. People only started paying attention to science during the reformation and the Renaissance. The discovery of other things put a restraint on people trying to learn science because of the amount of information that is being told. The failure of present reports can lead to people thinking that the original report was fake and untrustworthy.

Storming of Bastille ( July 14, 1789 )

The storming of Bastille happened due to the king and his selfishness. The king at the time was not good because he would overspend the money the country had given him and he would demand higher taxes leading to the poor revolting against him and his armies. The poor decided to raid the Armory of Bastille because it had tons of weapons and supplies that the people raiding can use. Their plan was to revolt against the king and free the prisoners that were arrested due to taxes not being payed. This revolt was successful resulting in the prisoners being freed and the lower class winning.
