- The development of transportation has affected our daily lives by the innovation of engines. For instance, automobiles started from a steam-powered vehicle and could only move 2.5 miles per hour. In 1893, the first successful gas powered car was invented in the United States. During the 19th century, innovations such as hand brakes, multi speed transmission and better steering developed. In 1924, a car radio was introduced and Nowadays, we use basic gasoline car engine. Modern engines have a number of technologies in place to make them more efficient. 
- Helps us to expand urban areas and increase the travel distance.  In rural areas, cars were used for touring and recreation on the weekends.
