Pairing Up Students

My class now has 17 students (one student moved to a different class). I teach computers/technology, so my classes end up having a lot more boys in them rather than girls. So this class of 17 is 12 boys and only 5 girls.

However, I teach 6 classes during the day. So there are other students that I could have participate in this project so that every one of your students has one American partner. If you can tell me how many boy students and girl students you have, I can try to match those exact numbers so that all of the sets of partners are either two boys or two girls. I think that might be more comfortable for most students?

I tried to record my screen to show you how it looks. Also I wanted to test that feature out!

It would not let me add audio to the recording, it said "no microphone" and would not let me change it, even though I believe my computer has a built-in microphone.

But if you watch the video, you can see that on our padlet, I cannot click on the settings button. I created a test padlet that has no other members, and the settings option is available on that one. I think I selected the option on that one that I want to use for our collaboration. I assume it will be easy to monitor and approve student posts and comments when they come in. We just need to make sure that I'm also listed as a moderator on the student padlets.

Here's another screen recording. I got a new email about being a moderator, but I still don't seem to have access.

I invited you to my test padlet and went to the screen to add you as a moderator. I wonder if you are able to access the settings on that?

Maybe as a moderator, I cannot change the settings, but I can still approve posts and comments? And then only people who are set to "admin" can change the settings?
