That's when the person called him a racial slur and walked away. This is significant to me because it raises awareness for racism today and how we can treat it. I'm Asian myself, and it's important that we try to stop all racism for everyone and prevent these things from happening again.

And that ability to sweep aside differences to find real people you can love is what Yang believes in more than anything.

2) To me, Yang's most powerful parts of the essay are when he shares his vision to the future. The "double victory" he lives his life hoping for - despite the bigotry him and his people have experienced - is the vision everyone must keep in mind. Any time injustice threatens to take over, I believe Gene Yang would want anyone who has read this writing or believes in the justice of the future to stand up. To take a page out of Superman's book and do the right thing.

It's essential to respect everyone, showing empathy and understanding regardless of what they look like, sound like, believe, or any other differences.

2) In my unprofessional opinion, Yang's most significant moments in this passage are when he shares his beliefs with the more modern Superman comics while fighting off the "evil" hatred that was spread. Another significant point in the essay is when the media pulled out the "double victory". Even in the present moment, the "double victory" should be at the forefront of everyone's despite the influential racism that almost everyone's own race has gone.
