十三位來自南一中雙語班的代表參加了由日本高津高校舉辦的跨國會議。來自台灣、日本、韓國和菲律賓的與會者，就貧困、氣候變化、氣候行動、水下生物、優質教育等可持續發展目標相關問題進行了討論。這次會議是三場系列會議中的第一次，其餘兩場分別於 9 月在網上舉行，1 月在大阪舉行。這次會議絕對是一次大開眼界的會議，所有與會者都抓住了這個難得的機會，走出了自己的舒適圈，開闊了眼界。

The bilingual program of TNFSH is in its second year, and junior students are as passionate about cultural exchange as their seniors. During the guided tour around the area of Confucius Temple, students from TNFSH explained the traditions and history behind various spots and attractions. This event not only boosted their passion for language learning, but also increased their confidence in speaking English. Students from abroad were equally fascinated, who are now more familiar with the history of Tainan and also more confident of their Mandarin proficiency.

這次視訊交流也強調了教育的國際性，提供學生們一個語言練習的機會。透通過視訊交流增進了他們的外語能力，也有助於提高對他們未來的國際視野和發展。

本校自從2018年開始和愛知縣一宮西高校交流,這次視訊交流是兩校長期合作的一部分，為兩校師生建立了更深厚友誼。我們期待著未來更多的交流機會，以促進兩國之間的文化和教育交流。

On October 26, 2023, students from our school's freshman bilingual class engaged in an online exchange activity with students from Ichinomiya Nishi High School in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. They shared their respective school life, learning experiences, and cultural characteristics. This activity not only broadened the students' perspectives but also fostered friendship between students from both sides, enhancing understanding and respect for different cultures.

This online exchange also emphasized the international nature of education, providing students with an opportunity to practice language skills. Through real-time online meeting, their proficiency in foreign languages was enhanced, contributing to an expanded international outlook and personal development.

Since 2018, our school has been engaged in exchanges with Ichinomiya Nishi High School in Aichi Prefecture. This event is part of the long-standing collaboration between the two schools, cultivating a deeper friendship between students and teachers. We look forward to more opportunities for exchange in the future, aiming to further promote cultural and educational interactions between the two countries.

Our first-year bilingual class students had an online exchange with Australian students. This is the first cultural exchange we've had with Australian students in the past two years. Both sides shared a variety of topics, including differences in festivals between Australia and Taiwan, as well as exchanging experiences about the differences in student life and campus life between the two places. It was a fruitful exchange! We look forward to using this exchange as a foundation for deeper future exchanges and strengthening the cooperation between both sides."

This is our second meeting with students from Narrabundah College in Australia. With prior experience, students from our freshmen bilingual class performed better this time, introducing not only various cultural festivals in Taiwan, but also showed our Australian friends around our campus with our own device. Hopefully, this will be the start to many more fruitful exchanges in the future!

Bilingual class students from the first and second year had their first video exchange with peers from the Oceanside School District in New York. Despite the challenges of time difference, over ten students willingly participated. During the discussion, students realized the importance of cultural differences and gained a profound understanding of the diversity of American ethnicities. The participating members from the other side represented various ethnicities, including Filipino, Armenian, Mexican, Indian, and Chinese, making the interaction rich and diverse. All the participating students had a fruitful experience and look forward to further collaboration and exchange in the future.

活動由 Cupertino 臺中友誼城市協會主辦，會長胡威妮致歡迎詞揭開了活動的序幕。胡威妮表示隨著科技日新月異，全球社會逐漸進入數位化時代，臺灣與美國的高中生透過網路，展開一場深度探討人工智能對生活的影響的線上雙語交流會。這場活動將兩地的學生連結在一起，透過跨越千里的網絡，共同思考未來AI發展的可能性。這次跨國線上雙語交流會不僅強化了學生對於科技的理解，也加深了他們對於文化差異的體認。通過這樣的跨文化交流，學生們不僅學到了科技的知識，更培養了國際合作和溝通的能力。

金山灣區文教中心主任莊雅淑感謝會長胡威妮，除了安排和臺中高中學生交流之外，更把這一個大愛分享到南臺灣的高中同學，相信透過這一個有意義的活動，一定能夠促成臺美之間年輕人能夠相互分享，也認識臺灣多元的文化。世界是一個地球村，透過語言開啟世界的鑰匙，她也鼓勵同學們多多發言表達自己的看法意見來交流。

美國學生分享其學校對於AI的教學與實踐經驗。同學藉由即時的線上演示，生動地展現了AI技術在校園中的應用，例如智能化的圖書館系統、智能教學輔助等，同時對繳交功課作業是否應該利用AI發表學生的看法。

臺灣學生也在活動中分享了當地在科技應用上的最新發展，包括AI在醫療領域的創新應用，以及在產業界的潛在發展前景。同時也以自動駕駛實際案例的分享討論，為兩地的學生提供了更豐富的視野，激發了他們對於AI應用的思考。

High school students in southern Taiwan and across Northern California held an online bilingual conference on the evening of November 30. With the growing influence of Artificial intelligence in our everyday lives, the topic of discussion was “How Artificial Intelligence is Shaping Our World”. 

Palo Alto Mayor Lydia Kou, Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Culture Offices in San Francisco (Milpitas) Director Sophia Chuang, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco Director of Education Division David Dong, National Pingtung High School Principal Kuo-Hsiang Chen. Cupertino-Taichung Friendship Cities Association (CTFC) President Weini Liem, and Chief Advisor Anita Fu all participated in this event to encourage the students.

The schools participating this time included National Tainan Senior High School and National Pingtung Senior High School. From northern California, there were Branham High School, Cupertino High School, Kehillah Jewish High School, Leigh High School, Lincoln High School, Prospect High School, and Valley Christian High School. 

Thirty high school students formed six teams to discuss AI in transportation, the impact of autonomous driving, entertainment, catering, learning, and life. The forum was divided into two parts. First, students from the sixth team expressed their views on artificial intelligence in English. Then students from the sixth team discussed the use of artificial intelligence and their experiences in using artificial intelligence in Chinese. 

除了文化表演，宮城一高還參與了南一中的各種課程，體驗了108新課綱實施後的臺灣課堂風景。交流不僅提升了學生的溝通交流能力，更促使他們瞭解了台日文化差異，學習理解差異、互相尊重的理念。南一中校長提到，明年將舉辦永續發展目標研討會，誠摯邀請宮城一高再次蒞臨府城，促進對聯合國永續發展目標的交流與心得分享。兩校期待未來深度的交流。

A group of 75 students and teachers from Miyagi First High School in Japan visited Tainan First High School in Tainan City on the 7th of this month for a cultural exchange. This marked the first large-scale student exchange event between the two schools since the lifting of travel restrictions. National Tainan First High School had previously visited Miyagi First High School in 2016, establishing a strong friendship. Despite physical visits being disrupted due to the pandemic, both schools maintained their connection through video communication.

Miyagi First High School showcased their signature calligraphy performance, combining music, calligraphy, and dance to demonstrate the beauty of body movement and written characters. The giant artwork created during the performance left a profound impact on the audience, fostering a deep appreciation for cultural and artistic exchange.

In addition to the cultural performances, Miyagi First High School participated in various classes at National Tainan First High School, including inquiry-based learning, AI drawing, home economics, and interactive English conversation. They also experienced the Taiwanese classroom environment following the implementation of the 108th curriculum. During lunch, National Tainan First High School prepared Taiwanese snacks such as shrimp rolls, danzai noodles, top-grade rice dumplings, hairtail fish ball soup, and pearl milk tea to treat their Japanese guests.

Principal Liao Tsai-ku of Tainan First High School mentioned that as Tainan City approaches its 400th anniversary, the school is actively engaging with the theme of sustainable development. They plan to host a "High School Students' Exploration and Practical Learning Conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" from July 8 to July 10, 2024. The event aims to invite Miyagi First High School to share their experiences and insights on the United Nations' 17 SDGs and international school exchange.

A Tainan First High School student, Wang Qianyou, who served as a translator, expressed that the exchange not only enhanced his communication skills but also allowed him to understand the differences in Taiwanese and Japanese cultures and thought processes. He emphasized the importance of learning to appreciate and respect differences. In February of the following year, students and teachers from Tainan First High School plan to visit Miyagi First High School in Japan, and both schools are looking forward to another meaningful exchange.

The SDG online conference is part of our long-term collaboration with Kozu High School in Osaka. This marks the final session of our SDG online conference for this academic year. In addition to continuing discussions from previous meetings, students also took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming in-person interactive sessions scheduled at the end of the month in Tainan.

On December 25th and 26th, students from the bilingual class of TNFSH, along with visiting students and teachers from Kozu High School in Osaka Japan and Tainan Girls' Senior High School collaborated on an ecological investigation along the Zengwen River. Kozu High School is a member of the Super Science High Schools (SSH) network in Japan, accredited by the Ministry of Education and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).

The ecological study took place under the Zhongzheng Bridge, with the entrance located on an industrial road adjacent to the bridge. Students from both Taiwan and Japan worked together, and throughout the activity, there was not only intellectual learning but also diverse cultural exchanges. Teachers and students from all sides found the experience highly beneficial, and there is a shared anticipation for deeper collaborations in the future.

明年適逢藤枝東高校百年校慶，本校特地邀請名法家王錫圭老師書寫題字，致贈墨寶，祝賀藤枝東高校百歲生日快樂！

112學年度本校重啟與日本藤枝東高校的交換生計畫，從學期初開始甄選交換生，分面試與家訪二階段來甄選，最終選出余宥希、鍾佳瑞和杜瑋修三位同學，並著手準備迎接藤枝東高校的交換生。

為確保交換生們能順利融入臺南一中的生活，學校貼心地為他們準備了全套的制服、運動服以及教科書。這次的交換將持續兩週，而此時也正值學校校慶期間，兩位同學也開心參與102週年校慶園遊會。希望透過這段時間的活動參與，能讓藤枝東高校的交換生們留下美好且難忘的回憶，共同見證兩校友誼。

Exchange students Shiyouyo Taishi and Narushima Kenma from Shizuoka Prefecture Fujieda Higashi High School in Japan arrived at our school on December 8th (Friday), led by Principal Fukuko Sano herself. They are expected to participate in a 17-day study program. Principal Liao Tsai-ku and the library staff warmly welcomed the visiting students.

Next year marks the centennial celebration of Fujieda Higashi High School, and our school has specially invited the renowned legal scholar, Professor Wang Xigui, to write a congratulatory inscription as a gift of calligraphy, extending heartfelt wishes for a joyful 100th birthday to Fujieda Higashi High School.

In the academic year 112, our school resumed the student exchange program with Fujieda Higashi High School in Japan. The selection process for exchange students began at the start of the semester, involving two stages of interviews and home visits. Ultimately, three students—Yu Xi Yu, Zhong Jia Rui, and Du Wei Xiu—were chosen and began preparations to welcome the exchange students from Fujieda Higashi High School.

To ensure a smooth integration into Tainan First Senior High School life, the school thoughtfully prepared a complete set of uniforms, sports attire, and textbooks for the exchange students. The exchange program will last for two weeks, coinciding with the school's anniversary celebration. During this time, the two students will also joyfully participate in the 102nd-anniversary carnival. It is hoped that through their involvement in various activities during this period, the exchange students from Fujieda Higashi High School will create beautiful and unforgettable memories and witness the strong bond of friendship between the two schools.

在交流活動中，由陳立偉主任與謝承霖主任負責授課，帶領兩校師生進行了探究實作課程與生成式AI應用課程。這些課程不僅促進了學生對於知識的探索，更加強了兩校之間在學術和技術方面的交流合作。我們相信這樣的交流活動能夠豐富學生的學習體驗，擴大他們的國際視野。

期待未來，我們將在6月份再次展開國際教育交流，期盼能夠再次與京都府立鳥羽高校見面，並進一步深化我們之間的合作與交流。

On March 21st, National Tainan First High School warmly welcomed students and teachers from Kyoto Prefectural Nio High School for a school exchange program. Representing our school, Director of Student Affairs, Ming-Han Chiu, extended a heartfelt welcome. Concurrently, we hosted an exhibition of Chen Chien-Chih's wood-carved lion sculptures at the Bamboo Garden Art Gallery. This event not only facilitated academic exchange but also fostered cultural integration and interaction between our two regions. As a token of appreciation, our school prepared commemorative lion souvenirs to be presented, symbolizing our hopes for further cultural exchange between our two institutions.

During the exchange program, Director Chen Li-Wei and Director Hsieh Cheng-Lin led sessions where students from both schools engaged in inquiry-based practical courses and courses on generative AI applications. These courses not only encouraged students to explore knowledge but also strengthened academic and technological cooperation between the two schools. We believe such exchange programs enrich students' learning experiences and broaden their international perspectives.

Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the next international education exchange in June. We hope to reunite with Kyoto Prefectural Nio High School once again, further deepening our collaboration and exchanges.

28日的交流活動，本校安排了豐富的體驗課程，包括107班台灣童玩活動體驗、117班台灣美食品嚐、董怡君老師敲敲打打玩音樂課程、陳立偉主任飛行種子的探索課程、徐敏凱老師排球課程、林倉億老師219的數學課、還特別安排了美國哈佛福德Javier 老師幫我們上了一堂辯論課程，之後則進行兩校的友誼辯論，分別針對「學校是否要穿制服？」以及「每天上學時間是否延到十點？」進行友誼的辯論賽。透過這些課程，哈佛福德的同學們能夠透過課程的體驗了解台灣的文化和傳統，同時也與一中的同學建立起深厚的友誼。

29日上午為本校多元選修課程時間，特別安排了美術黃逸民老師「拓碑」課、曾冠騰老師「飛盤」課、董怡君、楊秀蘭老師「赤崁樓樓導覽」課、蔡仲彬老師「木藝」課，讓美國哈佛福德的同學能在短時間體驗本校的多元的課程。

這次交流活動，也謝謝26個接待家庭的熱烈款待，不僅豐富了學生的學習經歷，也促進了兩校師生之間的交流和合作，為學生們帶來更多難忘的體驗和收穫。

On March 27th, 2024, our school welcomed 29 students and teachers from Harverdford School in Pennsylvania, USA, for a three-day exchange program. This exchange marks the first collaboration between Tainan First High School and an American school, aiming to foster cultural exchange and friendship between students and teachers from both institutions.

On the 28th, a diverse range of experiential courses was arranged for the exchange program. These included activities such as experiencing traditional Taiwanese childhood games by Class 107, tasting Taiwanese cuisine by Class 117, a music class conducted by Teacher Dong Yijun, an exploration of flying seeds by Director Chen Liwei, a volleyball class by Teacher Xu Minkai, a mathematics class by Teacher Lin Cangyi from Class 219.

Additionally, a special debate class was conducted by Mr. Javier from Harvardford, followed by a friendly debate between students from both schools on the topics of "Should schools have uniforms?" and "Should school start time be extended to 10 o'clock?" Through these courses, students from Harverdford were able to experience Taiwanese culture and traditions firsthand, while also fostering strong friendships with their counterparts at Tainan First High School.

On the morning of the 29th, during our school's elective course session, special classes were arranged including a stone rubbing class by Art Teacher Huang Yimin, a frisbee class by Teacher Zeng Guanteng, a guided tour of Chihkan Tower by Teachers Dong Yijun and Yang Xiulan, and a woodworking class by Teacher Cai Zhongbin. These courses provided the students from Harvardford with a glimpse into the diverse range of courses offered at our school within a short span of time.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the 26 host families for their warm hospitality throughout this exchange program. Their contributions not only enriched the learning experiences of the students but also facilitated greater communication and cooperation between the students and teachers of both schools, bringing forth unforgettable experiences and valuable insights for all participants.

This is the first curriculum exchange between National Tainan First Senior High School and AECS Magnolia Maaruti Public School in India. Through the flexible elective course for first-year students, discussions on SDG topics are conducted, with the theme being man-made disasters. This is the first session in a series of course discussions, focusing mainly on the characteristics and examples of man-made disasters in both countries. The Indian side is very dedicated, not only preparing slides but also using hand-drawn posters to complement the theme. Both teachers and students from both sides are looking forward to the upcoming video exchanges.

Continuing the discussion on man-made disasters from the last time, this session at AECS Magnolia Maaruti Public School focused on "The impact of man-made disasters on health, livelihood, and ecology." Apart from the 317 bilingual class students, this time, there were also senior students attending as observers. This series of collaborative classes is expected to have one final online video conference, during which the senior students will be involved in creating slides and sharing reports. After over an hour of discussion, both teachers and students felt greatly benefited from the exchange.

Carroll High School in Texas, America is the first school from English-speaking countries with which we attempted to establish exchange relations After taking a year off to regroup, Carroll High School plans to resume cooperation with us in the next semester. During a one-hour meeting with Ms. Li from Carroll High School, we discussed not only asynchronous pen pal exchanges but also synchronous online conferences, as well as future plans for reciprocal visits between the two schools, aiming to broaden the horizons for both teachers and students.

Tainan – May 24, 2024 – The bilingual experimental class of National Tainan First Senior High School (TNFSH) recently engaged in an online cultural exchange with The Narrabundah College in Australia. The event focused on campus life, cultural values, and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to foster deeper understanding and friendship between students from both schools.

Students participated in discussions about their respective daily school lives, explored different cultural values, and delved into the significance of sustainable development goals. Tainan First Senior High School Flexible Curriculum Students Engage in Cultural Exchange with Students from The Narrabundah College in Australia

Recently, students from the flexible curriculum class at National Tainan First Senior High School engaged in a unique cultural exchange with students from The Narrabundah College in Canberra, Australia. This event aimed to enhance cross-cultural understanding between the students of both schools and to encourage young people to be more open and inclusive in a globalized society.

During the event, students from both schools interacted through video conferencing, engaging in various activities such as cultural presentations and discussions. The students from The Narrabundah College showcased Australian cultural features and local lifestyles. On 6/13, Principal Tsai-Ku Liao of Tainan First High School, along with the faculty and students, engaged in an online cultural exchange with students and teachers from The Blake School in the United States. This exchange aimed to enhance cultural understanding and friendship between the two schools.

Through a video conference, students introduced their cultural backgrounds and discussed various cultural topics, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.

During the meeting, the American students shared their school life and the unique aspects of American culture, while Tainan First High School students introduced the local customs and characteristics of Taiwan. Everyone deepened their understanding and friendship in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

The American students expressed great anticipation for their upcoming trip to Taiwan and gratitude for the warm reception from the Tainan First High School students. Tainan First High School has arranged a rich and varied itinerary for the American students, including visits to historical sites in Tainan, food experiences, and cultural exchange activities. They hope that through this exchange, students from both schools will further deepen their understanding and appreciation of each other's cultures through real-life interaction.

Principal Tsai-Ku Liao stated that this online exchange is a great beginning and looks forward to more rich interactions and cooperation during the on-site exchange at the end of the month, promoting long-term friendship and collaboration between the two schools.

Today, students from the first-year flexible curriculum and the second-year bilingual class participated in the six-school online exchange event hosted by Takatsuki High School in Japan. The event aimed to promote cross-cultural exchange and understanding among students and to discuss the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Today, students from our flexible curriculum in Grade 11 and bilingual class in Grade 12 had the privilege to participate in an online exchange with AECS Magnolia Maaruti Public School – Bangalore in India. The theme of this exchange was "Man-made Disasters," focusing on key issues such as prediction, prevention, emergency preparedness, execution processes, and post-disaster recovery.

This exchange not only broadened our students' international perspectives but also facilitated deep intellectual discussions and knowledge sharing with their peers from India. Through interactions, both sides explored better ways to predict potential disasters, devise effective prevention strategies, and respond promptly and recover swiftly when disasters occur.

From February 17 to 24, 2024, bilingual class students and teachers embarked on an eight-day, seven-night educational trip to Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. During the trip, students experienced traditional rural life in Japan, visited natural attractions such as Lake Inawashiro and the Zao Snow Monsters, and learned disaster prevention knowledge in Minamisanriku Town while also participating in a homestay experience. At Miyagi First High School, students from both schools engaged in talent shows and classroom visits, deepening cultural exchange. The exploration of Tokyo allowed students to fully experience the vibrancy and energy of a global metropolis. This journey broadened the students' horizons and promoted international understanding.

In May 2024, exchange student Saya Okazaki from Sendai Seiryo High School in Japan came to Taiwan to participate in a two-week exchange program from May 19 to June 2. She attended classes in 211, the class of her host student, Tu Wei-Hsiu, where she actively engaged in learning and interaction with the students. During her stay, the school arranged for her to introduce herself to the entire faculty and student body during the Thursday morning assembly. Additionally, to help Saya better adapt to her surroundings, the school provided Mandarin lessons to assist her in learning basic Chinese.

With the enthusiastic support of Class 211's homeroom teacher, Cheng Sheng-Chang, and all the students, Saya gained valuable learning and growth experiences during her time here. The class held a farewell party for her on May 31, where everyone bid her a fond farewell. Saya returned to Japan with cherished memories of her time in Taiwan.

From June 5 to 12, 2024, students and teachers embarked on an eight-day, seven-night educational trip to the Kansai region of Japan. During this trip, they visited Kyoto Tachibana High School and Toba High School, fostering cultural exchange between students from both schools.

The group toured numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Horyuji Temple, Todaiji Temple, Enryakuji Temple on Mount Hiei, and Byodoin Temple. The students also strolled through Gion's Hanamikoji Street, the bamboo groves of Arashiyama, and the ancient shrines of Kyoto, immersing themselves in the historical and natural beauty of Japan.

At Miyama Village, the students experienced a homestay, gaining insight into rural Japanese life. This journey not only broadened the students' international perspectives but also deepened their understanding of Japanese culture.

The 2024 exchange visit from The Blake High School was successfully conducted from June 29 to July 3. On the afternoon of June 29 (Saturday), the teachers and students from Blake High School arrived in Tainan. After a welcome ceremony, the students went home with their host families. June 30 (Sunday) was a day for the host families, who arranged various activities and visits to different attractions, allowing the American students to experience Taiwan's diverse culture and scenery.

On July 1 (Monday), the students visited Anping Old Street and Guohua Street, followed by a tour of the Confucius Temple area on July 2 (Tuesday), where they gained deeper insights into Tainan's history. The school also organized a visit to the school history room and a "Flying Seeds" course, leaving the visitors with a profound and positive impression of National Tainan First Senior High School. The visit concluded with a farewell at Victory Gate on the morning of July 3 (Wednesday), marking the successful end of this exchange.

From July 8 to 11, 2024, Director Yang Hsiu-Lan led exchange student Tu Wei-Hsiu to Sendai Seiryo High School in Japan for a student exchange program. During the visit, they introduced National Tainan First Senior High School and Tainan's culture to the class and participated in a school-wide choral concert at Seiryo High School. This trip not only enriched the exchange student's cultural experience but also left a profound emotional impact.

The warm hospitality of Sendai Seiryo High School made us feel truly welcomed. Through the exchange, the students learned to appreciate understanding and tolerance, broadened their international perspectives, and created unforgettable memories.

From July 15 to July 19, 2024, six students and one teacher from National Tainan First Senior High School were invited to participate in a cultural exchange program hosted by Wansan Girls' High School in South Korea. In addition to experiencing traditional Korean culture, customs, and cuisine, they also engaged in classroom activities with students from Wansan Girls' High School. Besides National Tainan First Senior High School, representatives from Tainan Girls' Senior High School also attended. During the brief five-day, four-night stay, the group visited important landmarks in Seoul and Incheon. By the end of the trip, everyone was reluctant to part, cherishing the valuable exchange opportunity.

Kozu High School has been a long-term partner of our school, with three to four online meetings and two in-person events held each year. This September, we were invited to Osaka to participate in the Youth Environmental Education Forum. In addition to students from Kozu High School, students from Tainan Girls' High School and Angelicum College in the Philippines also joined the event. During the forum, students not only learned how to test water resources and air samples but also gained insights into the mysteries of Earth's environment. Each school shared the unique characteristics of their country and city and presented their reports on SDG-related topics, making the event both fruitful and memorable.

Carroll High School is the first American high school with which we established a connection. In addition to regular pen-pal letter exchanges, we also hold video conferences to discuss teaching content and strengthen our bond. After taking a one-year break, we have resumed our collaboration. Looking ahead, we also plan to arrange exchange visits, and we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Carroll High School delegation in June next year!

On October 30, 2024, Tainan First Senior High School welcomed a delegation of 42 teachers and students from Ritsumeikan Keisho Senior High School in Hokkaido, Japan. Through cultural exchange activities, students from both schools deepened their understanding and strengthened their friendships. During the welcoming ceremony, the Tainan First Senior High School Chamber Orchestra performed the melodious piece "South Wind," captivating all the guests present. Following this, the principal of Tainan First Senior High School delivered a welcoming speech, warmly greeting the visitors who had traveled from the cold land of Hokkaido and expressing heartfelt gratitude for their visit.

After the ceremony, students from both schools shared lunch together, engaging in casual conversations to learn about each other's lives and cultures. Post-lunch, first-year students from Tainan’s bilingual class guided the Japanese students on a campus tour, showcasing the unique features and historical background of Tainan First Senior High School. The library director, Mr. 謝承霖, and teacher Mr. 李俊文 were responsible for the pre-event training, ensuring the bilingual students displayed professionalism and enthusiasm during the tour. Throughout the visit, students from both sides exchanged joyfully, with frequent bursts of laughter echoing across the campus.

In the final session, Ritsumeikan Keisho students presented four traditional Japanese cultural activities, including kendama, spinning tops, origami, and a bean-picking competition. These games provided Tainan students with an opportunity to experience Japan’s traditional toys and culture. The students from Tainan enthusiastically learned new skills, mastering kendama techniques in a short time and spinning tops impressively far. They focused intently on crafting origami pieces like cranes and pumpkins. During the bean-picking contest, students demonstrated high levels of concentration and teamwork, making the activities both tense and enjoyable.

The event concluded with a group photo of students from both schools, as they bid each other reluctant farewells in front of the Victory Gate. The principal led two faculty members and 20 students on a two-week educational journey that began on October 12 with a visit to The Haverford School in Philadelphia. During the six-day exchange at The Haverford School, students stayed with host families of Haverford students, experiencing local life and attending classes. On December 3, 2024, a group of 81 students and teachers from Fujieda Higashi High School in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, visited Tainan First Senior High School for a one-day exchange program. 2月12日傍晚，學生們抵達御殿場，入住寄宿家庭，親身體驗日本家庭生活。Home爸Home媽熱情接待，準備豐盛的晚餐，讓學生們感受當地文化與溫暖的款待，體驗日本家庭生活，並培養跨文化溝通能力。

2月13日，師生告別寄宿家庭，前往姐妹校藤枝東高校展開正式學校與文化交流。藤枝東高校熱烈歡迎本校的師生來訪，特別安排盛大歡迎儀式，本校安排黃宥富同學以英語致詞、陳錫雍同學日語致詞，以及由詹安立、郭士瑋、林靖修和許容銓共同參與的歌唱戲曲表演，展現了語言能力與文化自信，贏得熱烈掌聲。午餐時，學生們與日本同學共進午餐，下午則共同參與英文課程，透過語言學習強化國際溝通能力，並進行分組社團體驗，涵蓋劍道、茶道、吉他和運動等多元領域社團活動，讓學生透過實際參與感受日本的課外學習文化，深化雙方的交流合作。傍晚五點，雙方學生依依不捨道別，期盼未來再度相會。

2月14日，學生們分組進行東京都市探索活動，透過實地的觀察和體驗來了解東京的生活與步調，培養自我學習與觀察能力。2月15日上午，師生參訪成田山新勝寺，體驗日本宗教文化與歷史，隨後搭機返臺，圓滿結束這場充滿學習與成長的國際教育交流之旅。

本次日本教育旅行不僅深化臺南一中與藤枝東高校的姐妹校夥伴關係，更讓學生透過跨文化交流與互動，學習國際溝通、增強全球視野，並理解多元文化的價值。

2025 Japan Study Tour: Enhancing International Exchange and Cultivating a Global Perspective   

To broaden students' international perspectives and strengthen cross-cultural learning, our school organized a seven-day study tour to Japan from February 9 to February 15, 2025. Through school exchanges, cultural experiences, and international interactions, this trip deepened our partnership with our sister school, Fujieda Higashi High School in Shizuoka Prefecture.     

On the first day, upon arriving at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, students and teachers visited Sawara Water Town and Sakura Samurai Residences to explore Japan’s Edo-period water management systems and samurai culture. Following this, students embarked on a cultural and natural exploration around Mount Fuji, including visits to Oshino Hakkai, Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha Shrine, and Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, before experiencing skiing at the Mount Fuji Second Station Ski Resort. 

On the evening of February 12, students arrived in Gotemba, where they stayed with Japanese host families. The host parents warmly welcomed them and prepared lavish dinners, offering students a firsthand experience of Japanese daily life. This homestay experience not only provided a deeper understanding of local culture but also helped students develop cross-cultural communication skills.

On February 13, after bidding farewell to their host families, students traveled to Fujieda Higashi High School for a formal school and cultural exchange. Our sister school extended a grand welcome ceremony for our delegation. In response, Huang You-Fu delivered a speech in English, while Chen Xi-Yong addressed the audience in Japanese. Additionally, Zhan An-Li, Guo Shi-Wei, Lin Jing-Xiu, and Xu Rong-Quan performed a traditional Chinese opera-style singing performance, showcasing their linguistic abilities and cultural confidence, which received enthusiastic applause.

During lunch, students dined together with their Japanese peers, fostering deeper interactions. In the afternoon, they attended English classes, strengthening their international communication skills through language learning. They then participated in club activities, joining various groups such as kendo, tea ceremony, guitar, and sports clubs. This hands-on experience provided insight into Japanese extracurricular activities and enriched both schools’ cultural exchange. By 5:00 PM, students reluctantly bid farewell to their new friends, looking forward to meeting again in the future.

On February 14, students engaged in a self-guided exploration of Tokyo, observing and experiencing the city’s lifestyle and pace firsthand. This activity encouraged independent learning and observational skills. On the morning of February 15, the delegation visited Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, where they explored Japanese religious culture and history before departing for Taiwan, successfully concluding this enriching international study tour. 

This Japan study tour not only strengthened the sister school partnership between Tainan First Senior High School and Fujieda Higashi High School but also provided students with valuable opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and interaction. Through this experience, students enhanced their **international communication skills, broadened their global perspective, and deepened their undersinternational communication skills, broadened their global perspective, and deepened their understanding of cultural diversity. 

臺南第一高級中學於2025年3月6日至7日接待日本仙台青陵高等學校師生，展開為期兩天的學術與文化交流活動。此次交流為兩校締結姐妹校後的首次正式互訪，內容涵蓋課堂體驗、專題簡報、文化表演與校外參訪，促進雙方學術與文化的深度對話。

歡迎儀式於小禮堂舉行，由室內樂團演奏《春天》與《南風》揭開序幕，象徵交流的嶄新起點。隨後，廖財固校長致詞歡迎，並與仙台青陵高校師長交換紀念品，象徵兩校友好關係。學生代表王謙祐、杜瑋修以流暢的日語致詞，表達對本次交流的期待與祝福。接著，學生帶來融合崑曲唱腔的《拾穗》，展現傳統與現代交融的音樂魅力。

課程交流方面，仙台青陵高校學生參與「電，上路了」物理探究課程，由王俊乃老師指導，透過實驗探討電流運作，並由余宥希同學擔任課程日語翻譯。翌日，他們進入博物館學課程，由董怡君老師聘請台史博專業講師主講，體驗「瓷器修復」的專業技術，認識台灣的傳統工藝。

此次交流的一大亮點是青陵高校的14位學生發表14項專題研究報告，內容涵蓋數學、人工智慧、環境永續等多元議題，並與臺南一中學生展開深入討論，激盪出跨文化學術交流的思維碰撞。

文化交流方面，仙台青陵學生帶來鋼琴演奏、茶道、書法、魔術及舞蹈表演，展現日本傳統藝術的獨特魅力。校外參訪則安排至臺南廳長官邸與知事官邸，並由王謙祐同學擔任日語翻譯，其流暢表達讓日籍師生驚艷不已。下午，學生前往成功大學，由成大博物館蔡侑樺老師以日語導覽，帶領學生深入了解成大的校園建築與歷史發展。

此次交流不僅增進兩校學生的國際視野，也為未來更緊密的學術合作奠定基礎。臺南一中期待與仙台青陵高校持續深化合作，拓展更多元的國際學習機會。

Tainan First Senior High School and Sendai Seiryo High School Strengthen International Academic Exchange     

March 6–7, 2025, Tainan First Senior High School (TFSH) hosted faculty and students from Sendai Seiryo High School (SSHS) for a two-day academic and cultural exchange. This visit marked the first official exchange since the schools became sister institutions, featuring classroom experiences, academic presentations, cultural performances, and off-campus visits, fostering a deeper academic and cultural dialogue between both schools. 

The welcoming ceremony was held in the school auditorium, where the chamber orchestra performed Spring and Southern Wind, symbolizing the beginning of a new partnership. Principal Liao Cai-Gu delivered a welcome speech, followed by an exchange of commemorative gifts with SSHS faculty, signifying the strong bond between the two schools. Student representatives Wang Qian-You and Du Wei-Xiu delivered a speech in fluent Japanese, expressing their enthusiasm for the exchange. The event continued with a Kunqu-style performance of "Harvest", blending traditional Chinese opera elements with contemporary music, creating a unique cultural showcase. 

In the academic exchange, SSHS students participated in the physics inquiry-based learning course "Electricity on the Move," guided by Professor Wang Jun-Nai, where they conducted hands-on experiments on electrical currents. Student translator Yu You-Xi provided real-time Japanese interpretation. On the second day, they attended a museum studies course, where Professor Dong Yi-Jun invited a professional lecturer from the National Museum of Taiwan History, allowing students to experience the art of porcelain restoration and learn about Taiwan’s traditional craftsmanship. 

A highlight of the exchange was the academic symposium, where 14 SSHS students presented 14 research projects on mathematics, artificial intelligence, and environmental sustainability. These presentations sparked in-depth discussions with TNFSH students, fostering cross-cultural academic engagement. 

In the cultural exchange segment, SSHS students showcased piano performances, tea ceremonies, calligraphy, magic shows, and dance performances, highlighting Japan’s artistic traditions. Off-campus visits included the Tainan Prefecture Governor’s Residence and the Zhishi Governor's Mansion, with Wang Qian-You providing Japanese interpretation, impressing SSHS faculty and students with his fluency. In the afternoon, students visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), where Dr. Tsai You-Hua from the NCKU Museum led a comprehensive Japanese-language tour, offering insights into the university’s architecture and historical significance. 

This exchange not only broadened students’ global perspectives but also laid a solid foundation for future academic collaboration. TFSH looks forward to deepening its partnership with SSHS, expanding international learning opportunities for students. 

第一天：開幕典禮與曾文溪生態調查

12月26日上午9時，日本來訪師生與台南女中及台南一中的學生齊聚台南女中國際會議廳，共同參加開幕典禮。典禮由台南女中校長洪慶在先生致詞，並在翻譯協助下圓滿完成。接著，台南女中代表劉容榕、台南一中代表莊馥鴻及高津高校雙語班教師分別以英語致詞，展現國際交流精神。在交換紀念品後，活動正式展開。

開幕儀式後，高津高校學生分享其在日本進行的河川生態調查成果，詳細介紹調查方法與研究發現，為台灣學生提供寶貴的學習經驗。隨後，所有學生分組進行破冰活動，透過遊戲與交流迅速拉近彼此距離。

中午時分，師生們享用午餐後，搭乘遊覽車前往曾文溪進行生態調查。抵達後，學生們換上裝備，手持調查工具，在指導老師帶領下進入溪中，採集生物樣本並分析水質。在台日學生通力合作下，成功捕捉到多樣淡水生物，並透過實作體驗深化對河川生態的認識。活動結束後，學生們依依不捨地離開曾文溪，為首日活動畫下圓滿句點。

第二天：生物分類與海報製作

12月27日上午8時50分，參與師生在會議廳回顧前一天的曾文溪調查過程。日本教師講解生物分類方法及使用方式，為當天的學術研究活動奠定基礎。

隨後，學生們分組進行生態分析，其中底生生物組負責分類前一天捕捉到的水生生物，並評估水質污染程度。學生們細心地將生物分類記錄，並透過水質耐受度分析河川健康狀況。接著，各組分工進行海報製作，部分學生負責資料分析，部分學生則投入海報設計，透過圖文呈現研究成果。

經過一上午的努力，各組完成精美的研究海報，並於走廊展示成果。學生們以英語向其他組別與教師說明研究內容，不僅增進環境科學知識，也提升跨文化溝通能力。最終，在閉幕式與頒獎典禮上，活動進入高潮，透過票選決定優秀團隊，各組學生也於台上合影留念，並與日本師生互道珍重。

深化環境意識，促進國際合作

這場為期兩天的河川生態活動，不僅提升學生對淡水生態系統的理解，也加深台日學生的友誼與合作精神。參與者皆表示收穫豐富，對河川環境保育有更深層的認識，並期待未來能有更多類似的國際交流活動，共同為環境保護盡一份心力。

Katsuo High School River Ecology Exchange Program Successfully Concludes   

From December 26 to 27, 2024, students and teachers from Japan’s Katsuo High School, Tainan First Senior High School, and Tainan Girls' Senior High School participated in a meaningful river ecology exchange program. Through academic reports, field investigations, and group research, students explored river ecosystems and fostered international collaboration in environmental conservation. 

Day One: Opening Ceremony and Zengwen River Ecological Survey

On the morning of December 26, Japanese students and teachers, along with students from Tainan First Senior High School and Tainan Girls' Senior High School, gathered at the international conference hall of Tainan Girls' Senior High School for the opening ceremony. The event commenced with a speech by Principal Hong Qingzai of Tainan Girls' Senior High School, successfully delivered with the assistance of interpreters. This was followed by speeches in English by school representatives, Liu Rongrong from Tainan Girls' Senior High School, Zhuang Fuhong from Tainan First Senior High School, and a bilingual teacher from Katsuo High School. After exchanging school souvenirs, the program officially began.

Following the opening ceremony, students from Katsuo High School presented their river research conducted in Japan, introducing their research methods and findings. This provided Taiwanese students with valuable insights into ecological investigation techniques. Afterward, all students participated in icebreaker activities in their respective groups, engaging in self-introductions and interactive games to foster friendships. 

At noon, after enjoying lunch, participants boarded a tour bus to Zengwen River for an ecological survey. Upon arrival, they geared up with appropriate equipment and, under the guidance of their teachers, waded into the river to collect biological samples and analyze water quality. With the collaborative spirit of both Japanese and Taiwanese students, they successfully gathered a variety of freshwater organisms. The hands-on experience deepened their understanding of river ecosystems. As the activity concluded, students reluctantly bid farewell to Zengwen River, marking the end of an enriching first day.

Day Two: Biological Classification and Poster Presentation

On December 27 at 8:50 AM, participants reconvened in the conference hall to review the previous day’s investigation at Zengwen River. Japanese teachers then provided an introduction to biological classification methods and guidelines for handling the collected specimens, preparing students for the day's research activities. 

Students then split into groups, with the benthic organism group focusing on classifying the freshwater species collected the day before and assessing water pollution levels based on species’ tolerance to water quality. Carefully organizing the specimens, students documented their findings and categorized them accordingly. They then divided tasks for poster creation, with some working on data analysis while others designed posters to visually present their research findings. 

After a morning of dedicated effort, students completed their detailed and visually appealing posters, which were displayed in the hallway for presentations. They explained their findings in English to other groups and teachers, strengthening both their environmental science knowledge and cross-cultural communication skills. The program culminated in an awards ceremony and closing session, where outstanding projects were selected through voting. Each group took commemorative photos on stage, exchanging farewells with Japanese participants. 

Enhancing Environmental Awareness and Strengthening International Cooperation

This two-day river ecology program not only enhanced students’ understanding of freshwater ecosystems but also fostered friendships and teamwork between Taiwanese and Japanese students. Participants expressed that they gained valuable knowledge on river conservation and environmental sustainability. Many look forward to more international exchanges in the future, continuing their efforts in ecological preservation together. 

114年3月25日，臺南一中接待來自日本的三所學校——京都鳥羽高校、東京成城高校與大阪履正社高校，展開一整日豐富多元的校際交流。活動包括歡迎儀式、校園參觀、特色課程體驗與文化互動，不僅展現臺南一中豐沛的教學資源，也深化雙方學生的國際視野與友誼連結。

上午九時，鳥羽高校與成城學園高校訪問團抵達校門，接受學生熱情歡迎，隨即移步至小禮堂參加聯合歡迎儀式。本校室內樂團以《春天》與《南風》兩首作品揭開序幕，營造溫暖氛圍。其中《春天》象徵交流與希望，《南風》則為校友謝銘祐創作的百年校慶主題曲，體現本校的文化與精神。

歡迎式中，廖財固校長親自致詞，歡迎日本師生蒞校交流，並鼓勵青年透過國際互動拓展視野。鳥羽高校中澤知里老師與成城高校有阪喜一郎老師也代表致詞，對本校的熱情接待表達誠摯感謝。本校210班羅祥禎同學以流利日文代表全校致歡迎詞。最後，由學生詹安立、郭士瑋及許容銓演出的崑曲改編音樂劇《拾穗》，更是融合傳統與現代，讓來賓留下深刻印象。

此次特地安排日本學生分組參與兩門深具特色的課程體驗。成城高校參加由科學班陳立偉主任授課的「飛行種子探究」課程，引導他們觀察自然界中種子的飛行方式，並由學生親手設計模型進行測試與改良，從中理解空氣動力與自然科學的原理與應用，培養動手實作與科學思辨能力。

鳥羽高校則參與由謝承霖主任與陳婉玲老師指導的「機器人訓練」課程。學生透過AI平台輸入角色指令與建立知識庫，訓練客製化應答機器人，進一步體驗人工智慧應用於自主學習的可能性，並激發對STEAM（科學、科技、工程、藝術與數學）領域的興趣與探索。課程中皆由本校學生協助翻譯與教學支援，雙方互動熱絡，充分展現跨文化學習的合作精神。

午後，大阪履正社高校抵達校，由本校師生再次以音樂與歡迎儀式迎接。除廖校長致詞外，家長會長楊榮哲先生亦親臨現場致詞，強調國際教育對學生發展的重要性，並表達家長對學校積極推動跨國交流的高度肯定。

履正社學生代表與本校208班侯睿宸同學分別致詞後，進行紀念品交換儀式。本校特別贈送大理石雕刻藝術品與在地特色點心「鳳梨酥」，象徵祝福與友誼。

課程體驗部分，履正社同學參與由黃逸民老師指導的「拓碑實作課程」。學生親自體驗碑文拓印流程，從鋪紙、上墨到壓印完成作品，深刻感受臺灣書法與石刻文化的藝術之美。許多學生對能親手帶回拓印作品感到驚喜。

本次三校來訪不僅強化臺南一中與日本姊妹校之間的合作關係，更透過課程體驗、文化交流與語言互動，促進學生跨文化理解與全球視野的養成。未來，臺南一中將持續推動國際教育，讓學生在實踐中學習尊重、理解與合作，走向多元與世界接軌的學習旅程。

Tainan First Senior High School Welcomes Three Japanese High Schools
— Unique Curriculum Experiences Deepen International Education

On March 25, 2025, Tainan First Senior High School warmly welcomed three visiting schools from Japan—Kyoto Toba High School, Tokyo Seijo High School, and Osaka Riseisha High School—for a full day of rich and diverse interschool exchange. The visit included a welcome ceremony, campus tour, hands-on curriculum experiences, and cultural interaction, showcasing Tainan First’s abundant educational resources and fostering global perspectives and meaningful friendships among students.

At 9:00 a.m., the delegations from Toba and Seijo High Schools arrived at the school gate and were greeted enthusiastically by Tainan First students. They then proceeded to the auditorium for a joint welcome ceremony. The school’s string ensemble opened the event with two pieces: Spring and Southern Wind. Spring symbolizes hope and the spirit of exchange, while Southern Wind—the centennial theme song composed by alumnus and Golden Melody Award winner Hsieh Ming-Yu—represents the school’s unique cultural heritage.

During the ceremony, Principal Liao Tsai-Ku personally welcomed the visiting teachers and students, encouraging youth to broaden their horizons through international interaction. Ms. Chisato Nakazawa from Toba High School and Mr. Kiichiro Arisaka from Seijo High School also delivered heartfelt speeches, expressing their gratitude for the school’s warm hospitality. Representing Tainan First, 210 class student Lo Hsiang-Chen gave a fluent welcome speech in Japanese. The event concluded with a captivating performance of the Kunqu-inspired musical Harvest, adapted and performed by students An-Li Chan, Shih-Wei Kuo, and Jung-Chuan Hsu—an impressive fusion of tradition and modernity that left a lasting impression on all guests.

The school also arranged two distinctive hands-on learning experiences for the Japanese students. Seijo students participated in the "Flying Seed Exploration" course led by Mr. Li-Wei Chen, Director of the Science Class Program. Through observing natural seed dispersal mechanisms, designing and testing seed models, students explored principles of aerodynamics and scientific reasoning, emphasizing hands-on learning and critical thinking.

Meanwhile, Toba students took part in the "AI Robot Training" course led by Mr. Cheng-Lin Hsieh and Ms. Wan-Ling Chen. Using an AI platform, students input role-specific commands and built knowledge bases to train customized response robots, experiencing how AI can assist autonomous learning. This engaging course also sparked interest in the STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Tainan First students provided translation and classroom support throughout, fostering enthusiastic cross-cultural collaboration.

In the afternoon, Osaka Riseisha High School arrived on campus and was received with another musical welcome ceremony. In addition to Principal Liao’s address, Mr. Yang Jung-Che, Chairperson of the Parent Association, also spoke, emphasizing the importance of international education for student development and expressing strong support for the school’s active global engagement.

After speeches by the student representatives—Mai Okuuchi from Riseisha and Jui-Chen Hou from Tainan First—the schools exchanged commemorative gifts. Tainan First presented a marble sculpture and locally renowned pineapple cakes as symbols of blessing and friendship.

The curriculum session featured the "Stone Rubbing Art" workshop, taught by Mr. I-Min Huang. Riseisha students experienced the traditional technique of stone inscription rubbing—from laying paper to inking and pressing—and gained an appreciation for Taiwan’s calligraphy and stone carving culture. Many students were delighted to bring home their own handcrafted rubbings as unique cultural mementos.

This visit by the three Japanese high schools not only strengthened ties with Tainan First’s sister schools but also provided valuable opportunities for cultural learning, academic exchange, and language practice. Through these immersive experiences, students from both countries cultivated cross-cultural understanding and global awareness. Tainan First will continue to promote international education, guiding students to embrace diversity, mutual respect, and cooperation as they step confidently onto the world stage. 

臺南一中於2025年6月11日至13日，迎來來自美國科羅拉多州知名私立中學——Colorado Academy的師生一行共21人，展開為期三日的教育與文化交流活動。此行由臺南一中全力籌劃，內容涵蓋課程觀摩、實作互動、文化探索及教育議題探討，期望透過實質交流，促進兩校學生之間的跨文化理解與國際友誼。

溫馨隆重的歡迎式　奏響交流序曲

6月11日下午3時30分，臺南一中在小禮堂為來訪團隊舉行溫馨隆重的歡迎儀式。儀式由本校室內樂團演奏揭開序幕，悠揚樂聲中傳遞著誠摯歡迎的情意。校長與家長會長分別上台致詞，向遠道而來的Colorado Academy表示歡迎，並勉勵兩校學生珍惜此次交流機會，彼此學習、共同成長。

Colorado Academy的教師代表與學生代表也以流暢的英文回應，表達對臺南一中師生的感謝與對交流的期待。接著，由本校301班何沅翰同學擔任學生代表，進行全英文的校園簡介與歡迎致詞，展現優異的語言表達能力與自信風採。

兩校學生互動熱絡，歡迎式中播放本校製作的介紹影片，介紹學校的歷史、校風與國際教育成果，讓來訪師生更深入認識臺南一中的核心價值與辦學特色。儀式尾聲，雙方學生代表互贈紀念品，並在歡笑中拍下大合照，為這段交流旅程立下充滿希望的起點。

校園導覽與接待家庭　真誠交流從生活開始

在輕鬆熱絡的氛圍下，師生們接續參加由學生會策劃的「校園導覽活動」，由本校學生分組帶領美國同學認識校園各處地標與歷史場景，透過交流互動的方式迅速破冰，也讓來賓對校園空間留下鮮明印象。活動結束後，Colorado學生由本校安排的接待家庭學生一對一接回，開啟第一晚的在地文化體驗。

本次交流的成功，接待家庭的參與功不可沒。每位美國學生都安排至臺南一中學生家中住宿，由家庭協助生活照顧與文化介紹。許多家庭更熱情安排了夜市散步、手作臺式料理或小型家庭聚會，讓遠道而來的學生們不僅僅是訪客，更像是家中的一份子。這樣的深度互動，也讓臺灣學生在陪伴與接待過程中練習英語表達、理解異文化，真正實踐「住在地、說國際」的交流精神。

多元課程體驗　跨文化學習啟動思辨火花

6月12日與13日，Colorado Academy學生依個人興趣分組，參與由本校教師設計的多元課程體驗。課程涵蓋理工、人文、藝術與體育四大面向，內容包括：

·         理工互動活動（蔡佳怡老師）：2年19班同學透過品嚐台南美食加簡報介紹，讓Colorado Academy的學生更了解台南。第二節透過球類活動，加深彼此的情誼。

·         社會文化交流課程（陳惠卿老師）：2年2班學生以小組方式進行互動，安排舞蹈表演、竹槍製作、書法體驗等活動和Colorado Academy的學生交流。

·         拓碑藝術體驗（黃逸民與董怡君老師）：介紹石碑與拓印方法和步驟，讓學生實地操作拓印，留下專屬作品紀念。

·         飛盤爭奪戰（曾冠騰老師）：戶外體育活動促進協作與體能交流，也在運動中建立語言與動作的默契。

·         飛行種子研究（陳立偉主任）：科學與自然觀察結合，讓學生親手操作模擬種子飛行軌跡，了解台灣自然與手作學習的趣味。

·         木藝創客課程（蔡仲彬老師）：這次配合摺紙創作的講座，透過摺紙的創作，理解背後的精神與設計邏輯。

·         南美館導覽與音樂創作課（董怡君老師）：結合在地歷史與藝術創作，讓學生對臺南文化有更深理解。

上述課程均由本校優異的師長主導，並安排本校學生協助翻譯與陪同，讓交流過程更加流暢。

交流活動中最大的亮點之一是由Colorado教師Dr. Hoffman主講的專題課程「台美大學入學考試異同」特別受到師生矚目。該課程邀請兩校學生依組別深入比較美國SAT、ACT與台灣考試制度差異，從準備歷程、升學壓力、教育價值等面向展開對話，學生反應熱烈，踴躍發言，顯示對自身學習環境的反思能力與對異文化制度的好奇心。課堂中不時傳來笑聲與掌聲，知識與情感在交流中自然融合，真正體現「以對話啟發理解」的國際教育核心精神。

圓滿道別　友誼的起點

在三天的深度交流過後，6月13日下午，Colorado Academy一行於本校勝利門前道別，依依不捨地與本校學生合影告別。離開前，Colorado教師Wei Ning特別留下親筆卡片寫道：

“Thank you so much for your warm hospitality. We all had a wonderful time. Although this visit was brief, I truly believe it marks the beginning of our friendship!”   

這段話溫暖人心，不僅是對本校師生接待安排的肯定，也象徵著跨越語言與文化的理解與情誼，正在悄悄萌芽。

Colorado Academy Visits TNFSH for a Three-Day In-Depth Cultural and Educational Exchange     

From June 11 to 13, 2025, Tainan First Senior High School (TNFSH) welcomed 21 students and teachers from Colorado Academy, a prestigious private school in the U.S. state of Colorado. The three-day program featured a series of well-planned activities, including classroom observations, hands-on workshops, cultural experiences, and discussions on educational topics. This meaningful exchange aimed to promote international friendship and cross-cultural understanding among students from both schools. 

Warm Welcome Marks the Beginning

On the afternoon of June 11, TNFSH hosted a warm and elegant welcome ceremony in the school auditorium. The school’s chamber ensemble opened the event, followed by welcome speeches from the principal and PTA chair. Representatives from Colorado Academy responded in fluent English, expressing gratitude and anticipation. Class 301’s He Yuan-Han delivered a full English welcome speech and campus introduction, impressing guests with his confidence and language skills. A school introduction video was also shown, followed by a group photo and gift exchange, setting a hopeful tone for the days to come. 

Campus Tour and Host Families: Learning Through Living

After the ceremony, students joined a campus tour led by TNFSH student groups. Through interactive activities, the guests quickly became familiar with the school environment. That evening, each Colorado student was welcomed by a host student’s family, marking the start of their cultural immersion. Host families played a key role in the exchange, offering warm hospitality, home-cooked meals, and enriching experiences such as night market visits or cultural sharing at home. These moments allowed real bonds to form while helping TNFSH students practice English and experience cultural exchange firsthand.

Enriching Courses: Hands-On and Cross-Cultural

On June 12 and 13, Colorado students participated in diverse courses tailored to their interests. Subjects spanned STEM, humanities, arts, and sports, and included:

• Tainan food tasting & sports – Students from Class 219 introduced Tainan culture through local cuisine and ball games.

• Cultural exchange – Class 202 organized activities like dancing, bamboo crafting, and calligraphy.

• Stone rubbing – Students created ink rubbings under guidance.

• Frisbee challenge – Outdoor team play encouraged communication and collaboration. 

• Flying seed workshop – Students experimented with seed flight to explore science and creativity.

• Woodworking and origami – Students learned about structure and design through hands-on activities. 

• Art museum & music creation – A cultural tour combined with musical storytelling.

Bilingual instruction was provided, with TNFSH students assisting as interpreters and learning partners throughout.

Educational Dialogue: Comparing College Entrance Exams

A major highlight was a seminar led by Colorado Academy teacher Dr. Hoffman, focusing on the similarities and differences between U.S. and Taiwanese college entrance exams. Students discussed the SAT, ACT, and Taiwan’s GSAT and AST, exploring academic pressures and values. Group conversations sparked enthusiasm and reflection, demonstrating students’ curiosity and growing global perspectives.   

A Meaningful Farewell

On the afternoon of June 13, the Colorado delegation bid farewell at TNFSH’s Shengli Gate. Students hugged, took photos, and exchanged heartfelt goodbyes. Before departing, teacher Wei Ning left a handwritten note: 

“Thank you so much for your warm hospitality. We all had a wonderful time. Although this visit was brief, I truly believe it marks the beginning of our friendship!” 

Looking Ahead

This exchange brought learning beyond the classroom. From collaborative lessons to shared meals, from cultural tours to personal conversations, students built understanding and lifelong memories. TNFSH will continue to expand international opportunities, helping students grow into globally minded citizens—rooted in Tainan, reaching out to the world. 

為拓展國際視野並促進青年跨文化理解，臺南一中於114年6月13日（週五）熱情迎接來自美國普林斯頓大學（Princeton University）師生一行共18人，包括15名學生與3位教師。當日下午，本校特別規劃一場簡潔隆重的歡迎儀式及校園導覽，展現台灣學生的熱情與人文底蘊，也為雙方交流揭開美好序幕。

歡迎式於下午五時在人文教育大樓多功能教室舉行，由學生司儀引導流程，首先由校長廖財固致詞歡迎遠道而來的來賓，並期許雙方學生透過此次互動能有更深入的理解與學習。接著，由普林斯頓大學代表教師Janet Chen博士發表回應致詞，表達對臺南一中的感謝與對交流的期待。本校學生代表317班吳育綸同學也以流利的英文致詞，熱情分享學校特色與校園文化，贏得來賓熱烈掌聲。

活動中，本校播放精心製作的英文介紹影片，帶領來賓深入認識校史與校風，隨後由普林斯頓學生簡要介紹其學校背景與學術精神。雙方互贈紀念品，本校準備具在地特色的「鳳盒子鳳梨酥」以及百校慶紀念熊偶，展現台灣人的好客與誠意。最後全體合影留念，定格這段跨越時空的友誼起點。

儀式後，由本校學生分組帶領普林斯頓來賓進行校園探索與校史室參觀，不僅親身走訪校內地標，也進一步了解台灣百年學府的深厚文化脈絡。普林斯頓學生對於校史室中豐富的歷史文物與展覽表現出濃厚興趣，雙方學生互動頻繁，展現活潑自然的交流氛圍。

原訂活動於傍晚六時前往臺南著名的夜市進行在地文化體驗，然而當日午後突遇降雨，考量安全與活動品質，臨時改至南紡購物中心（T.S. Mall）進行室內參訪與購物體驗。此項變更雖是臨時調整，卻未影響來賓熱情，南紡的寬敞空間與臺南特色商品，反而讓普林斯頓學生體驗到不同面向的在地風貌，也與本校學生在共同行動中培養更多互信與情誼。

此次短暫卻充實的行程，為雙方師生留下難忘回憶。不僅加深普林斯頓大學對臺南與台灣中學教育的認識，也使本校學生在實際英語應用與跨文化理解上有深刻體會。雙方皆期待未來能持續深化學術與文化交流，共同培養具備國際素養與世界公民責任的青年世代。

To broaden global perspectives and foster intercultural understanding among youth, Tainan First Senior High School (TNFSH) warmly welcomed a delegation from Princeton University on Friday, June 13, 2025. The group included 15 students and 3 teachers. That afternoon, TNFSH organized a concise yet meaningful welcome ceremony and campus tour, reflecting the hospitality and cultural richness of Taiwanese students and marking the beginning of a valuable exchange between the two institutions. 

The welcome ceremony was held at 5:00 p.m. in the multifunctional classroom of the Humanities Education Building, with student hosts guiding the program. Principal Liao Tsai-Ku delivered opening remarks, expressing his warm welcome to the guests from afar and encouraging students from both schools to make the most of this exchange to gain deeper understanding and learning. Dr. Janet Chen, the teacher representative from Princeton University, followed with a response, expressing gratitude for TNFSH’s invitation and enthusiasm for the cultural dialogue. Student representative Wu Yu-Lun from Class 317 also delivered a fluent and engaging speech in English, warmly introducing the school’s spirit and culture and receiving an enthusiastic round of applause from the guests. 

A professionally produced English-language introduction video was screened, giving the visitors a deeper understanding of TNFSH’s history, values, and academic achievements. Princeton students then gave a brief presentation about their own university’s background and academic traditions. To commemorate the occasion, both sides exchanged meaningful gifts. TNFSH presented local specialties such as pineapple pastries and commemorative teddy bears from its 100th anniversary—symbolizing Taiwanese warmth and generosity. A group photo concluded the event, capturing the beginning of a friendship that transcends borders and time.

After the ceremony, TNFSH students led small group tours, guiding the Princeton visitors around the campus and into the school’s history room. There, students explored the school’s long-standing academic legacy and historical artifacts. The Princeton students showed great interest in the exhibits, and active student interactions created a natural and lively atmosphere.

Originally, the evening cultural activity was planned as a visit to a famous Tainan night market. However, due to sudden rain, the school made a last-minute change for safety and quality reasons, opting instead for an indoor cultural and shopping experience at T.S. Mall. Despite the change, the guests remained enthusiastic. The mall’s spacious environment and display of local products offered a different, yet equally authentic, glimpse into Tainan’s lifestyle. The outing also allowed students from both schools to connect more deeply through shared exploration and casual conversation.

Though brief, the exchange left lasting impressions. Princeton faculty and students gained a deeper understanding of Tainan and Taiwan’s secondary education, while TNFSH students practiced real-life English and strengthened their cross-cultural communication skills. Both sides expressed hope for continued academic and cultural collaboration in the future, nurturing globally-minded youth with intercultural competence and civic responsibility. 

TNFSH remains committed to its vision: “From Tainan to the World.” Through meaningful exchanges, cultural encounters, and collaborative learning, the school empowers students to be grounded locally while thinking globally—and to let the world see Taiwan. 

此次活動不僅展現了本校國際接待的成熟經驗，也體現出師生高度參與與熱情。從接待禮儀訓練、導覽志工招募、寄宿家庭協調到跨領域課程設計，整體動員廣泛，顯示本校已有良好的制度基礎與靈活因應的能力。在短短兩天內，雙方學生從陌生轉為熟識，在多項課程與戶外活動中建立真誠情誼。外籍學生感受到台灣教育的開放與多元，我校學生也在實踐中提升了語言能力與跨文化敏感度，展現我校長期培養的雙語素養與國際視野。

This exchange program between Tainan First Senior High School and Carroll High School marks an important milestone in the partnership between the two schools. Since 2019, Carroll High School has been a long-term sister school partner of ours. Even before the pandemic, the two schools had engaged in synchronous video courses, online writing exchanges, and discussions on cultural topics. This visit represents the first in-person exchange, carrying historical significance and educational value for both sides. The delegation from Carroll High School, led by Ms. Yu-Hsin Lee, demonstrated professionalism and great attention to detail throughout the planning process. There was a high level of collaboration and consensus with our teachers regarding curriculum alignment, student pairing, and cultural activities.

This event not only showcased our school’s extensive experience in hosting international exchanges but also reflected the strong participation and enthusiasm of our teachers and students. From hospitality training, volunteer recruitment for campus tours, and coordination with host families to interdisciplinary curriculum design, the program mobilized a wide range of efforts, highlighting our school’s solid organizational foundation and adaptability. In just two days, students from both schools quickly built genuine friendships through various courses and outdoor activities. The visiting students experienced the openness and diversity of Taiwan’s education system, while our students improved their language proficiency and intercultural awareness through real-life practice, demonstrating the bilingual competence and global outlook that our school has long cultivated.

9月10日，韓國萬山女子高中師生首次蒞臨臺南一中參訪，展開一天的跨國交流行程。上午在校門口迎接後，於人文教育大樓舉行歡迎式，本校校長.學生代表康嘉宸與韓國師生代表先後致詞，並進行紀念品交換。本校特別贈送百年校慶紀念熊與鳳梨酥，和台南一中的紀念小熊，讓韓國師生感受到滿滿心意。

隨後，來訪師生在學生導覽下參觀校園與校史室，並參與科學班陳立偉主任的「飛行種子」探究實作課程，與本校學生進行分組合作實驗，氣氛熱烈。下午則前往赤嵌樓、祀典武廟及大天後宮參觀，體驗臺南在地文化。在戶外散步時，也享用了清涼的在地「芒果冰棒」驚呼超好吃、讚不絕口，對臺南留下深刻印象。

這次相遇不僅建立了深厚的友誼，也開拓了同學們的國際視野。期待未來更多交流，再次相聚！

【The First Visit of Mansan Girls’ High School from Korea – Warmly Welcomed by Tainan First Senior High School】

On September 10, teachers and students from Mansan Girls’ High School in Korea paid their first visit to Tainan First Senior High School, embarking on a full day of international exchange. After being greeted at the school gate in the morning, a welcome ceremony was held in the Humanities Education Building. Our principal, student representative Kang Jia-Chen, and representatives from the Korean delegation each delivered speeches, followed by the exchange of gifts. As a token of friendship, our school presented centennial commemorative bears, pineapple cakes, and Tainan First’s signature teddy bear, which were warmly received by our guests. 💝

The visiting teachers and students were then guided around the campus and the school history hall, before joining Director Chen Li-Wei’s Science Class for the “Flying Seeds” hands-on exploration program. Together with our students, they conducted group experiments in a lively and collaborative atmosphere. In the afternoon, the group visited Chihkan Tower, the Grand Mazu Temple, and the Official God of War Temple, immersing themselves in Tainan’s local culture. During their walk outdoors, they also enjoyed refreshing local mango popsicles, which they praised as “super delicious,” leaving them with a sweet and lasting impression of Tainan. 🥭❄️

This meaningful encounter not only deepened the friendship between the two schools but also broadened the students’ international horizons 🌏. We look forward to more exchanges and to meeting again in the future!

今天，來自台灣、日本、韓國和菲律賓的學生代表參加了由日本高津高校所主辦的第二次線上會議，會議內容著重聯合國發展目標，例如平等、貧困、永續發展等議題。以之前的討論為基礎，加上事前的準備，南一中的學生能夠更深入地研究議題，並提供具體的建議，或分享他們的個人觀點。此次國際線上會議是各國參與學校密切合作的成果，高津高校的 Harada老師擔任主要會議協調員。這是一次成果豐碩的會議，顯然地，學生和他們的老師一樣收穫滿滿!

在溫馨的交流氛圍中，學生們首先享用臺南在地特色下午茶。本校特別準備珍珠奶茶、台南經典刈包與古蹟限定小點心，日本師生對於「台式下午茶」感到新奇又驚喜，兩校學生也趁此時自然展開交流，笑聲不斷。

隨後進入全場最受期待的日本文化體驗活動。本次活動分為三組進行：

（二）日本童玩劍玉（けん玉）

（三）阿伊努（Ainu）族圖騰創作體驗

其中，阿伊努族圖騰創作以濃厚民族美學與細緻手作吸引全場目光，作品完成時令人驚艷；摺紙與劍玉活動則讓學生以輕鬆愉快的方式體驗日本文化，現場氣氛熱絡、交流自然。

此次半日活動雖然短暫，但雙方學生展現高度的熱情與友誼，為台日國際交流寫下美好篇章。臺南一中期待未來能再次與日本北海道立命館慶祥高校攜手，共創更多跨文化精彩時刻。

【Visit from Ritsumeikan Keisho Senior High School, Hokkaido, Japan — A Vibrant Day of Cross-Cultural Exchange】

On November 11, Tainan First Senior High School warmly welcomed 42 students and teachers from Ritsumeikan Keisho Senior High School in Hokkaido, Japan. The welcome ceremony opened with a beautiful chamber music performance of “South Wind” by our students, symbolizing friendship carried across the sea. Representatives from both schools then exchanged heartfelt greetings, followed by a short introduction video that helped our guests gain a deeper understanding of Tainan First Senior High School’s educational philosophy and campus culture.

The afternoon began with a delightful local refreshment time. Our school prepared Taiwanese specialties including bubble milk tea, classic gua bao, and special treats inspired by Tainan’s historic sites. The Japanese students were thrilled by this “Taiwanese-style afternoon tea,” and students from both schools naturally engaged in warm conversations filled with laughter.

The highlight of the day was the Japanese cultural experience session, divided into three groups:

Ainu Cultural Totem Crafting

Among them, the Ainu totem activity—which reflects the deep artistic spirit of the indigenous Ainu people—captivated everyone with its unique patterns and detailed craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the origami and kendama sessions allowed students to enjoy hands-on cultural exploration in a relaxed and cheerful environment.

Although the half-day program was brief, the enthusiasm and friendship shown by students from both schools made this exchange deeply meaningful. Tainan First Senior High School looks forward to future collaborations with Ritsumeikan Keisho Senior High School, continuing to create memorable moments of cross-cultural learning together.

交流過程中，雙方學生以英語進行自我介紹，分享各自的校園生活、課程特色與日常興趣。學生們起初略顯緊張，但在輕鬆的互動氣氛中逐漸放鬆，並能自然表達想法，展現出對彼此文化的好奇與尊重。這樣真實而即時的跨校交流經驗，不僅提升了學生使用英語溝通的信心，也讓他們體會到語言作為溝通橋樑的實際意義。

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, with the introduction and support of our school principal, we held our first online exchange with teachers and students from Ina Kita Senior High School in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. This meeting marked the very first official interaction between our two schools and served as the starting point for future collaborative exchanges. Although the session took place online, the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and filled with laughter, laying a solid foundation for continued cooperation.

During the exchange, students from both schools introduced themselves in English and shared their school life, course features, and personal interests. While some students were slightly nervous at the beginning, they gradually relaxed in the supportive and friendly environment and were able to express themselves naturally. They also showed genuine curiosity and respect toward each other’s cultures. This authentic, real-time interaction not only enhanced students’ confidence in using English but also helped them recognize the practical value of language as a bridge for communication.

This first online exchange, made possible through the principal’s introduction, was more than a language-learning activity; it was an important opportunity to initiate international collaboration and broaden global perspectives. Through our interaction with the teachers and students of Ina Kita Senior High School, we discovered shared values and similar youthful experiences across different educational contexts. We look forward to developing deeper and more diverse exchanges in the future and hope that this meaningful international partnership will continue to grow.

活動中，臺日學生混合編組，透過實地觀察與採樣，認識曾文溪玉井段的河川生態。由於冬季為枯水期，水流平緩且水深不高，使學生能在安全的環境中專注於生態調查本身。學生們在老師的引導下，實際進行觀察、記錄與討論，並嘗試以英語進行跨國溝通與意見交流，充分展現雙語學習與科學探究的結合。

透過與日本 SSH 指定學校學生的互動，學生不僅學習到河川生態相關知識，也體會到不同國家在科學教育與環境保護上的共同關注。彼此在合作過程中互相學習、互相補位，逐漸建立默契，讓原本陌生的跨文化交流轉化為真誠而自然的團隊合作。

整體而言，這次生態調查活動不只是一次戶外學習，更是一個拓展國際視野、培養溝通能力與環境意識的寶貴機會。期待未來能持續辦理類似活動，讓學生在真實情境中學習科學、使用語言，並深化國際交流的實質內涵。

The Tsengwen River ecological survey, conducted over two days on December 23 and 24, 2025, was a meaningful learning experience that integrated international exchange, environmental education, and bilingual learning. Participating alongside students from Osaka Prefectural Kozu Senior High School and Otemon Gakuin Otemae Senior High School from Japan, as well as teachers and students from the bilingual experimental class of National Tainan Girls’ Senior High School, greatly enriched the depth and value of the activity.

During the program, Taiwanese and Japanese students were mixed into small groups and worked together to observe and sample the river ecosystem along the Yujing section of the Tsengwen River. As it was the dry season, the water level was shallow and the current gentle, allowing students to conduct the survey safely along the riverbank. With guidance from teachers, students engaged in hands-on observation, data recording, and discussion, while also using English to communicate and exchange ideas across cultures. This provided an authentic context in which scientific inquiry and bilingual learning were closely connected.

Through interaction with students from a Japanese SSH-designated school, participants not only gained knowledge about river ecology but also developed a deeper understanding of shared concerns regarding science education and environmental sustainability. Working collaboratively, students supported one another and gradually built mutual trust, transforming initial unfamiliarity into genuine teamwork and cooperation.

Overall, this ecological survey was far more than an outdoor activity. It served as a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their international perspectives, strengthen communication skills, and develop greater environmental awareness. We look forward to organizing more activities like this in the future, enabling students to learn science and use language in real-world contexts while further deepening international collaboration.

論壇期間，臺日雙方學生針對永續發展（SDGs）相關議題進行多場英語專題報告（Presentation），透過跨校合作與小組討論，分享各自對全球議題的觀察與研究成果。在正式發表後，學生亦接受日本學者森田明彦榮譽教授之專業回饋，進一步強化其批判思考能力與國際溝通素養。

除了學術交流外，本次活動亦安排學生入住當地寄宿家庭（Home Stay）兩日，透過與日本家庭共同生活，親身體驗在地文化與生活方式。在日常互動中，學生不僅提升語言實際運用能力，更對不同文化價值觀有更深入的理解，也建立起跨國友誼。

論壇結束後，臺日學生共同進行城市探索活動，透過生活情境中的交流互動，深化彼此文化理解，將課堂中的國際議題討論延伸至實際社會環境中。

此次交流活動不僅展現本校學生在國際議題上的學習成果，也讓學生在學術發表與文化體驗並重的過程中，培養跨文化溝通能力與全球視野，實踐國際教育「走向世界、與世界對話」的重要精神。

In February 2026, a student delegation from Tainan First Senior High School visited Kuri Gakuen High School in Yamagata, Japan, to participate in the 4th Taiwan–Japan Global Summit (Global Summit – Be a Bridge). The exchange program focused on academic presentations and cross-cultural dialogue, combining forum discussions with homestay experiences to provide students with an authentic international learning environment.

During the summit, students from Taiwan and Japan delivered a series of academic presentations in English on topics related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through collaborative discussions and research sharing, students exchanged their perspectives on global issues. Following their presentations, participants received professional feedback from Honorary Professor Akihiko Morita, which helped further develop their critical thinking and intercultural communication skills.

In addition to academic sessions, students participated in a two-day homestay program with local Japanese families. Living with host families allowed students to experience local culture firsthand while improving their practical language use in daily communication. The experience also enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of cultural diversity and foster meaningful international friendships.

After the summit, Taiwanese and Japanese students jointly took part in a city exploration program, extending academic discussions into real-life cultural contexts.

This exchange program not only showcased students’ academic achievements on international issues but also provided valuable opportunities for cultural immersion, helping students cultivate global awareness and cross-cultural competence through both academic and experiential learning.

歡迎式於小禮堂登場，室內樂團以《卡門：鬥牛士之歌》揭開序幕，旋律昂揚；隨後演奏《南風》，以溫潤樂聲傳遞學校的人文底蘊。致詞環節中，雙方師長互致問候，期許學生拓展視野、深化理解。曾於本校交換的日本學生重返校園，分享「回到第二個家」的感受，場面溫馨動人。紀念品交換則象徵情誼延續。

表演中，臺南一中吉他社演奏〈Wherever you are〉，藤枝東學生則帶來現代舞與吉卜力歌曲合唱，展現青春活力，贏得滿堂掌聲。

隨後，日本學生分組參與校園導覽與英語、科學、AI、藝術及劍道課程，在互動中學習交流。午餐時光，兩校學生圍坐分享生活點滴，情誼自然流動。

短短半日，交流已留下深刻印記。揮手道別之際，不只是告別，更是對未來再相見的期待，也為青春寫下跨越國界的溫暖篇章。

On a warm winter morning, December 2, 89 students and teachers from Fujieda Higashi High School in Shizuoka, Japan, stepped onto the campus of Tainan First Senior High School, beginning a cross-ocean educational exchange. From the moment they arrived, they were welcomed not only with applause and greetings, but with a cultural journey woven through music and heartfelt hospitality.

The welcome ceremony took place in the auditorium, opening with a chamber orchestra performance of the “Toreador Song” from Carmen, its uplifting melody setting an energetic tone. This was followed by “Southern Breeze,” whose gentle music reflected the school’s rich cultural heritage. During the speeches, faculty members from both schools exchanged sincere greetings, expressing hopes that students would broaden their horizons and deepen mutual understanding. A particularly touching moment came when former exchange students from Japan returned to campus and shared their feeling of “coming back to a second home.” The exchange of commemorative gifts further symbolized the continuation of friendship.

On December 4, 2025, Tainan First Senior High School warmly welcomed 95 students and faculty members from Miyagi First High School, marking the beginning of a heartfelt and memorable exchange.

During the welcome ceremony, school leaders and student representatives from both sides exchanged greetings with sincerity and warmth, reflecting a shared spirit of friendship. A gift exchange followed, symbolizing lasting connections, as Tainan First presented commemorative centennial teddy bears and traditional pineapple cakes—tokens of Taiwanese hospitality.

Student performances further elevated the atmosphere. The guitar club delivered an energetic rendition of “Wherever You Are,” creating a moment of shared resonance, while Miyagi First High School’s calligraphy club captivated the audience with a live performance of “Phoenix,” where bold brushstrokes danced gracefully across the paper.

The visiting students then explored the campus and joined hands-on classroom experiences, including science experiments, origami art, and creative crafts. Through interaction and collaboration, friendships grew naturally. Lunchtime conversations flowed with laughter, deepening mutual understanding.

From December 29, 2025, to January 5, 2026, 17 students and 2 teachers from The Haverford School in Philadelphia visited National Tainan First Senior High School for a week-long educational exchange. This marked their second visit, building upon an established partnership and further strengthening the bond between the two schools. The program began with a warm and formal welcome ceremony, setting the stage for a meaningful journey of cross-cultural learning and exchange.

Our school thoughtfully designed a diverse and distinctive program, including courses in Technology and Culture, Home Economics, Living Technology, Music, Art, and Physical Education, allowing visiting students to fully experience Taiwanese high school life. These courses emphasized hands-on learning and interactive engagement, reflecting an inquiry-based and interdisciplinary approach to education. In particular, the Museum Studies course incorporated local history and cultural sites in Anping, guiding students to understand cultural contexts through real-world experiences. In addition, cultural excursions were arranged to sites such as the Tainan Waterworks Museum and the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, enabling students to explore the city’s historical depth and cultural richness.

Throughout the exchange, local host students accompanied the visitors, fostering strong friendships through classroom learning and group activities. The weekend homestay experience further allowed the American students to immerse themselves in everyday Taiwanese life and experience its genuine warmth and hospitality. Although the program lasted only one week, it broadened students’ global perspectives and nurtured mutual understanding and respect, laying a solid foundation for continued collaboration between the two schools in the future.

首日順利抵達仙台。儘管航程中曾因側風影響降落，所幸全員平安，為旅程揭開穩健序幕。翌日，行程迎來核心亮點——與仙台青陵高校的交流活動。在隆重而溫暖的歡迎式中，兩校透過致詞、贈禮與音樂演出，迅速拉近彼此距離，交流氛圍真誠而熱烈。

其中，「瓷器研究跨國合作計畫」成為全場焦點。本校六位博物館學學生以全英文登台發表，條理清晰、表現穩健，充分展現跨文化研究成果與表達能力，並獲仙台教育委員會代表高度肯定，凸顯國際協作學習的深度與價值。

隨後展開的課程體驗同樣精彩。從英文課、劍道體驗，到百人一首與茶道文化，學生在實作與互動中貼近日本文化核心，也在交流中逐步建立友誼。離開校園後，師生走訪松島與歷史寺院，雪覆古剎，靜謐而深遠，為文化體驗增添層次。

南三陸町震災傳承館的參訪，則將學習推向更深的情感與思辨層面。透過影像與導覽，學生理解2011年東日本大震災的衝擊，也看見當地居民在災後重建中展現的韌性與希望。當晚的寄宿家庭體驗，更讓學生走入真實的日本日常。從餐桌到對話，每一個細節都充滿溫度，也成為旅程中最動人的片段之一。

接續行程在自然與挑戰中展開。學生於滑雪場初次體驗雪地活動，在低溫環境中突破自我；夜晚則透過溫泉文化學習放鬆與調適，感受日本生活的另一種節奏。隨後前往一關第一高校進行交流，透過英文簡報、互動任務與社團參與，兩校學生迅速建立默契，展現良好的國際素養與開放態度。

在仙台城市探索活動中，學生與青陵高校同學分組合作，完成任務導向的學習挑戰，將跨文化交流從校園延伸至城市空間。最終幾日走訪會津若松鶴城與大內宿，從歷史現場出發，讓課本中的知識轉化為可感、可思的真實經驗。

In January 2026, teachers and students from Tainan First Senior High School embarked on a seven-day educational exchange trip to the Tohoku region of Japan. Against a backdrop of snow-covered winter landscapes, a profound journey unfolded—one that seamlessly integrated cultural exploration, historical learning, and international exchange.

The group arrived safely in Sendai on the first day. Although the flight encountered crosswinds during landing, all members arrived without incident, marking a steady and reassuring beginning to the trip. The following day featured one of the program’s highlights: an exchange with Sendai Seiryo High School. During the warm and formal welcome ceremony, the two schools quickly bridged distances through speeches, gift exchanges, and musical performances, creating an atmosphere of genuine enthusiasm and connection.

A particularly notable highlight was the “Cross-National Porcelain Research Collaboration Project.” Six students from Tainan First Senior High School’s Museum Studies program delivered a well-structured presentation entirely in English. Their confident performance showcased both their research achievements and their cross-cultural communication skills, earning high praise from a representative of the Sendai Board of Education and underscoring the depth and value of international collaborative learning.

The subsequent classroom experiences were equally enriching. From English lessons and kendo practice to Hyakunin Isshu and tea ceremony culture, students engaged directly with the essence of Japanese traditions through hands-on participation and interaction. These shared experiences also helped foster meaningful friendships. Beyond the campus, the group visited Matsushima and historic temples, where snow-covered scenery added a quiet, contemplative beauty to their cultural exploration.

The visit to the Minamisanriku Tsunami Memorial further deepened the learning experience on an emotional and reflective level. Through guided tours and multimedia exhibits, students gained insight into the impact of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and witnessed the resilience and hope of communities rebuilding in its aftermath. That evening, the homestay experience allowed students to step into authentic Japanese daily life. From shared meals to heartfelt conversations, every moment was filled with warmth, becoming one of the most memorable parts of the journey.

The following days unfolded through a balance of nature and challenge. Students experienced snow activities for the first time at a ski resort, pushing themselves in sub-zero temperatures. The group then visited Ichinoseki First High School, where students engaged in English presentations, interactive tasks, and club activities. Through these exchanges, they quickly built rapport, demonstrating strong global awareness and open-mindedness.

During the Sendai city exploration activity, students worked in groups alongside their Seiryo counterparts to complete task-based challenges, extending cross-cultural learning beyond the classroom into the urban environment. In the final days, visits to Aizuwakamatsu Castle and Ouchi-juku brought history vividly to life, transforming textbook knowledge into tangible and reflective experiences.

On January 30, 2026, a delegation of 10 students and teachers from Kumamoto Kaishin High School in Japan visited Tainan First Senior High School for a half-day educational exchange. The program began at noon with a warm welcome, followed by a shared lunch in the multi-purpose classroom, where relaxed interactions gradually brought the two groups closer together.

The welcome ceremony that followed was both formal and lively. During the experiential learning session, students from Kumamoto Kaishin High School participated in the “Flying Seed Inquiry and Practice” course. Through hands-on activities and observation, they experienced the school’s emphasis on inquiry-based and practice-oriented learning in the natural sciences. This was followed by a campus tour and a visit to the school history room, offering the visitors a deeper understanding of the school’s historical development and learning environment.

The program concluded with a group photo in front of the Humanities Building and a heartfelt farewell at Shengli Gate. Though the exchange lasted only a few hours, the sincere interactions left a lasting impression on all participants.

In April 2026, teachers and students from Tainan First Senior High School embarked on an educational exchange to the U.S. East Coast. The six-day academic program at The Haverford School near Philadelphia formed the core of this journey, complemented by visits to major cultural landmarks in New York and Philadelphia, creating a rich and multidimensional learning experience.

At Haverford, students fully immersed themselves in authentic classroom settings, moving between different classrooms in a rotating schedule. Courses included Modern History, Ancient History, Mathematics, and Drama. Rather than relying on lectures, teachers guided students through questioning and discussion, encouraging analysis and critical thinking. In history classes, students compared social developments across periods; in mathematics, they focused on logical reasoning and problem-solving processes; and in drama, they developed expressive skills through voice and movement training. This open and interactive environment gradually helped students overcome language barriers and actively engage in learning.

Beyond the classroom, after-school activities offered another dimension of American school life. Students joined their peers in basketball, baseball, and frisbee, building friendships through teamwork and shared experiences. Living with host families further extended learning into everyday life—through dinner conversations, casual interactions, and shared routines, cultural understanding became tangible and deeply personal.

On March 25, 2026, the exchange program began as the visiting teachers and students from Japan arrived at the Minzu Road entrance of our school. They then shared lunch in a multifunctional classroom, where a relaxed atmosphere encouraged initial interaction. During the meal, teachers noted a historical connection: Kodama Gentaro, former Governor-General of Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period, once served as principal of Seijo High School. This unexpected link brought the two schools closer and added meaningful depth to the exchange.

A brief and warm welcome ceremony followed, with faculty members exchanging greetings and student representatives sharing their expectations, quickly fostering a friendly atmosphere. During the gift exchange, our school presented a marble artwork titled “Eternal Blessing,” along with pineapple cakes and commemorative eco-friendly chopsticks as tokens of goodwill. A school introduction video was also shown, along with an overview of the program.

Student ambassadors then led small-group campus tours, introducing the school history gallery and key campus landmarks from a student perspective, deepening cultural understanding. This was followed by a Google AI Pro Applications hands-on workshop, led by Section Chief Ming-Feng Kuo. Integrating inquiry-based and task-oriented learning, students used AI tools for information gathering, organization, and real-time feedback, while comparing outputs generated from different language inputs. Through collaboration and discussion, Taiwanese and Japanese students not only enhanced their technological skills but also strengthened cross-cultural communication.

From March 5 to 6, 2026, twelve students and two teachers from Sendai Seiryo High School in Japan visited Tainan First Senior High School (TNFSH) for a two-day educational exchange. On the first morning, the delegation was warmly welcomed at the Minzu Road gate, followed by a formal yet heartfelt welcome ceremony held in the multi-purpose classroom. Representatives from both schools delivered remarks, expressing mutual appreciation and anticipation for the exchange. Representing TNFSH, students Zhang Sheng-Xiang (Class 301) and Zhu En-Fu (Class 217)—both selected for this summer’s exchange program to Seiryo High School—offered welcoming remarks. A school introduction video further deepened understanding, and a gift exchange symbolized lasting friendship. The ceremony also featured a traditional Chinese sheng performance by a TNFSH student, whose elegant melodies highlighted the richness of Taiwanese culture.
