Too busy to hang out with friends

This friend doesn't often go to hangouts or meet-ups, with the reason: “Too busy today!”. Make sure you have time for your friends because having the time to hang out with friends is time well spent because you can make memories together.

Insecurity and exclusion

Often, when you are with friends, you will have some differences of opinions and you might feel left out and insecure. Don't be afraid to speak up so the group knows how you feel - they might not know what's going on or that they're ignoring you. In order for them to improve, they must include everyone in a conversation.

Jealousy

Jealousy is the feeling of competitiveness because your friend (or someone else) is better than you. Make sure jealousy doesn't cause friendship problems. You should be happy and respect that your friend is better than you in some things as no one is perfect although it doesn't mean you cannot improve.

Not wanting to be friends

Sometimes people are picky when making friends and they choose friends by knowing/looking at their race, gender, and religion. Make sure that you can and want to be friends with everyone and treat everyone fairly (unless they are mean to you).

Bossiness

Being bossy isn’t always a bad thing but when it becomes rude and disrespectful, we need to speak up politely and nicely. Make sure that you also aren't bossy.

Not always being there for friends

Some friends are just there for your help and leave once you are done. Someone like that is selfish, and selfishness is not a good trait in a friend. Always try to help a friend in trouble and listen to your friend if he/she tells you about their problems!

Resources:

Tochukwu Ejechi.

I know that some people don't have time or don't want to spend time with you, which could eventually lead to friendship problems. For kids or almost adolescents our age, these problems could occur online or in a classroom. These issues occur when someone is being selfish, bossy, jealous, or too busy. You and other people can get hurt (not physically). When you end up going too far (losing your friend) you could try talking about your mistakes and apologize but if your friend doesn't want to do that then just forget about it and move on. The issue is connected to me because everyone has or will have a friendship like this and we have to earn how to solve it.

I used to think that making friends was simple and would always work but now I think it's a bit harder because some people don't want to make friends or are forced to make friends with you. During my PYPX journey, I enjoyed exploring more about my topic and I loved making my summary for some reason, it made me feel a lot more comfortable with my topic ˙ᵕ˙. The most challenging part I faced while making my PYPX Journal was finding good and trusted recourses and information while trying to find issues in friendships. I overcame this challenge by asking my teacher to help me find good and trusted recourses.

The main learner profile I have demonstrated so far is thinker because I have used various appropriate research methods and my work is organized.

After having more knowledge and information, I will keep on expanding my knowledge, try to improve my friendships, and share my understanding. So the solution is that we have to stop thinking about our insecurities and start thinking positively so our well-being and it friendships won't be ruined.

Our essential group agreement:

Always respect others' opinion

Never be scared to share your opinion

Everyone participates in the discussion

Don't do any malpractice

Give credit to any information and members

Schedule the due date of each group task

Keep up with the time schedule

Theme: How we organize ourselves

Inquiry Into: An inquiry into the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities; the structure and function of organizations; societal decision-making; economic activities and their impact on humankind.

Brainstorming Issues:
We tried to find the similarities and connect between our 3 topics.

I used to think that insecurities and mental health are the same, now I think that insecurities are more of a feeling and mental health is a "base topic" thing that includes the topic of insecurities but also other topics like depression and anxiety.

I enjoyed discussing with my group because we got to explore and plan more about our topic as well as have fun while talking/discussing.

So far there wasn't any challenging parts but it was slightly hard to make the planning for the lines of inquiry because we had to decide on what we were going to do and it can be hard to decide but nothing else was challenging. We overcame this challenge by narrowing down the activities until we choose one or choose two. If we end up choosing to we use a spinner wheel to decide by random.

One of the IB learner profiles I have demonstrated is caring because I can work cooperatively with my group as well try to meet the deadlines of assignments for a more effective way of learning.

My next plan is to use my knowledge and information to make the slides/PPT for LOI 1 and to of course keep using different ways such as making surveys and interviewing people with my group to find more information for my topic.

ATL Self Assessment https://docs.google.com/document/d/16S2kzH-SABaFdGi4xJ8xYC3gLmRi42Z0hxqUo6ywUyM/edit?usp=sharing

Some types of insecurities are insecurities in relationships, social insecurities, body image insecurities, job insecurities, and basic needs insecurities. Normally, insecurities introduce as a lack of confidence, anxiety, and uncertainty. Insecurity often causes negative thoughts about someones ability to fit in with peers, reach goals, or find acceptance and support.

In the early stages of PYP, I thought that you can just do things without a plan and just memorize everything, which is an option, but now I think the best way to do things is with a plan to organize everything in order of events.

This week wasn't fun at all, I couldn't go to school because I was ill and the tasks for preparation just got harder. I tried my best to done my work even I'm home and the online communication sometimes become a barrier. At the end though I managed to push myself to finish all of the work that had to be done.

The learner profile I may have demonstrated is open-minded because I used varied information from different sources to create a conclusion and respected the input of others.

During this long journey of PYP, I have learned more about my topic and how I can become more efficient with my work. I'm not sure what I enjoyed doing most because everything was fun and challenging. I think one of the most memorable events from PYP was doing the interview because it was the only time we got to meet up again besides from school to do extra work and hang out.

Technically, there isn't anything that I want to change because I could just go to the work and change it. I do however wish there was more time to possibly meet after school or during to do more work and to communicate more efficiently but we all have our own personal events so there isn't much I could've done with it.

Before presenting my journey in PYP, I was insecure about presenting my work clearly to other people, now when I present my work I know to make eye contact, summarize information as I read, and speak more clearly and confidently.

This week was fairly difficult, preparing the booth only took a day but it was a lot of running around to get materials, re-reading the presentation at least 5 times took a lot of my time but it did help me understand what to say when I presented and it helped me answer questions. Although it was painful to break my legs and mouth, I had fun preparing everything and presenting to people who were interested to learn about insecurities.

I demonstrated the learner profiles reflective because was thoughtful in finalizing details in my project and I was able to achieve my goals and realize what I can improve. I also think I was a communicator because I presented my findings with adults, teachers, and students from different schools and I believe that they enjoyed the presentation because there was many, many people in our booth either playing our game or listening to us present.

I see PYP as a journey for us students to: Learn how to communicate in groups, research in different ways, plan things out, organize and complete assignments in the best way possible with a certain amount of time, and to present well to adults and peers. I think I have learned all of those things during my journey in PYP.

ATL Self Assessment:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/16S2kzH-SABaFdGi4xJ8xYC3gLmRi42Z0hxqUo6ywUyM/edit?usp=sharing
