2.  After a full day of working with middle school kids, he finally has a free period during the last period of the school day.
3.  He seeks and finds the sanctuary of the small office of the kindest and most spiritual person he knows at his school.
4.  He asks her, " How is that your faith and God is so strong and that your outlook on life seems to be always very positive?"
5.  She tells him a true story.
6.  Without ever changing the positive look on her face, she tells him about her son, Daniel.
7.  In August of 1998, Daniel was trying out for football as a freshman just before the school year started at St. John's College High School.
8.  It was a very hot day.
9.  Daniel was a great, happy, athletic, fun-loving kid.
10.  He was running sprints with his teammates.
11.  He collapsed in the brutal heat and died in a hospital that evening.
12.  His Mom was distraught with grief.
13.  After the funeral, his Mom is working in the kitchen at her home.
14.  Suddenly, Daniel appears in her kitchen.  He's clearly not flesh in blood, but he is certainly more real than a mirage or a dream.
15.  He consoles her and tells her that he is happy and well taken care of.
16.  He tells her that he can be with her for 2 weeks and reassures his Mom that everything is okay.
17.  The next day, the Mom receives a call from her niece, who is a first cousin of Daniel's.
18.  The niece says, "Aunt Vicky, please don't get upset or think I'm crazy.  I was just visited by Daniel.  He told me that everything is okay and that he can be with me for the next 2 weeks."
19.  The Mom enjoys the periodic visits of her son during the 2 week period. She is positive that one day they will be perfectly reunited again.. She finds peace and totally trusts God and has done so ever since.
20.  On the last day of the 2 week period, Daniel visits his cousin during lunchtime at Georgetown Visitation.
21.  He insists that his shy, scared, cousin go talk to a girl sitting nearby.
22.  The niece of Daniel's Mom was finding it difficult to fit in or make any social connections at her new school.
23.  The niece found the courage to introduce herself to the girl sitting nearby.  
24.  The two girls have been close friends ever since.
25.  Daniel returned to heaven.
26.  14 years later, Daniel's Mom told the tired math teacher a story that he will never forget.  She told him he was free to share her story with others.
27.  The math teacher has told the story to a few people and several of his classes.
28.  Sometimes, a story is more powerful than a scripted lesson.
29.  One moral is God loves us and protects even in the worst of times.
30  Another moral is hang around and hang onto the people you meet in life that always seem to have a positive attitude.
