My dad's side of the family comes from France. But my mom's side is a mixture of sweden, british, and german. Her side of the family has always been catholic, but just my mom decided she didn't want to be.
France is apart of europe, and so is germany. America on the other hand is apart of North America.
In the past my ancestors probably became Catholic by the church's response to the Protestant of Reformation.
My ansestors most likely witnessed the priting press being made too.

He didn't want the religion to die, so he created the Council of Trent.
