I chose this book because it looked like a very interesting book, and when in the library it caught my attention and learning more about MLK caught my attention.

This story is about MLK and his life and the events leading up to his death, it also has events about the murderer and there life and what they did leading up.

His involvement led to his arrest and it also lead to the writing of his famous letter. “Letter from Birmingham jail.”

2. The March on Washington(1963)

during this MLK spoke his famous “I have a dream,” speech and it turned into a. Defining moment in the fight for civil rights.

3. The Montgomery Bus Boycott(1955 through 1956)

This event was the launch of MLK’s national prominence as a civil rights leader, his leadership had established his commitment to nonviolent protests.

it created major conflict between activist like Dr. King and those who are opposing of racial equality. This had shaped the world by fueling both MLK’s protests and the hatred that had led to his assassination

it takes place in many places like Memphis, Tennessee, Alabama, Washington D.C, Atlanta Georgia and at Lorraine motel.

It impacted people in ways for example with Montgomery Alabama, it symbolized resistance and change through the bus boycott, uniting many people to go against segregation

we know by looking at how he tells the story, he doesn’t just list important facts, he focuses on MLK and his words and his actions, and the meaning behind his speeches

He is an author who specializes in writing about events of American history.  His background with history, might show context as to why he chose Chasing Kings killers, because he is focusing on historical accurate things, and i think he tries to educate young people who don’t know the full story about MLK and he gives good explanations about it.

He uses pathos to draw readers attention towards MLK and his life and the cause of his death, they use sadness to get the readers interested and thinking about the topic.

He does this by giving clear factual information alongside actual timelines of these events that had led up to and followed MLK to his assassination. He gives specific names, quotes, locations, and specific dates.

This gives the central theme of this book, it shows the powerful impact of MLK’s life and his legacy, it gives the idea that his deaths was way more tragic but it was also a big turning point for people, giving them the courage to fight for civil rights and equality.

It’s on page 234, where it explains the sadness and significance of MLK and his death.

The song connects because it expresses the determination and the hope for racial equality that MLK had fought for throughout his life. The book highlights the sacrifices and the struggles that he went through to get to where he was
