The crazy ideas that Sophocles had thought of to make this story a tragedy is just amazing. When Oepidus goes to the seer to find the murderer of King Leah, and the seer does not want to tell him; it makes you wonder if you had been in that position; would you have told Oepidus? Or withhold the truth? Then when Teiresias (the seer) tells Oepidus the truth about his mother/wife, it's the turning point, and those lines make the audience freak out. Oedipus goes to Teiresias to find out Laius killer and Teiresias angers Oedipus. It's easy to predict what can happen in the story. The way you think about Oedipus changes when he talks to the seer. He is very oblivious to what he has done.
