For example instead of needing a warrant to search someone an administrator can search someone if they suspect they’re breaking a school rule or a danger to students. When she went to court for freedom of speech/protest, she did gain the freedom of speech in school. But the court still Left it up for the school to decide what and what not the students can do and their punishments. In the T.L.O case, she was suspected of smoking on school property and she was searched by the administration. Throught the court case, what was learned is that administration could search without warrant needed. You could see how the students do have certain rights to extents and it’s all based upon the school system.

Students still have the freedom of speech/expression (1st amendment), protection from unecessary searches (4th amendment), and all students are treated equally (14th amendment) under the constitution. From the “Tinker v. Des Moines” court case, the supreme court ruled that students are allowed to express their thoughts by wearing armbands. From the “T.L.O. v. New Jersey” court case, the supreme court ruled that searches in school can only be preformed when the student is suspected of being in the wrong. From the “Brown v. Board of Education” court case, the supreme court ruled that past-legal segregation in schools is now illegal. In conclusion, students have rights in public school, which are granted by the constitution, but are limited for the safety of other students.

Students have the right in public schools to help benefit them. When having rights they have a chance to prove themselves not guilty in certain situations in the school, they can express themselves with what they wear and say. Also it can help them make decisions that deeply affect them.

Yes students have rights in public schools although they are limited. You are limited on what you wear, say, and do. For example you have freedom of speech but it’s is restricted to what you can and can’t say. Also you can wear what you want but you can still violate the dress code. Lastly you can be searched by the principal if you are under suspicion for a crime or involved

All of our rights should be protected everywhere we go. Even in school I believe our rights should be protected and they are. In public school we have rights in freedom of expression, against unconstitutionalsearches and seizures and a slow on the basis of race.

yes, students do have rights in public schools but they are limited.People can wear whatever they want but there are dress codes that u have to follow in a school building. The First Amendment ensures that students cannot be punished for exercising free speech rights, even if school administrators don’t approve of what they are saying. Also Schools cannot discriminate against students on the basis of race, color, national origin. Undocumented children cannot be denied their right to a free public education. So yes students do have rights in public schools.

Students do have some rights, but they are limited by the government and school systems. Schools can search student’s belongings such as lockers or themselves if they feel suspicious of the rules being broken. The school rules have a dress code that limit what you wear, so freedom of expression is limited. They also limit freedom of speech by not allowing offensive statements, threats, or things relating to violence in schools.
