Roberto Landell de Moura was a Brazilian priest and inventor. Thanks to the intelligence acquired through his education and confidence in his talent, he became the inventor of wireless devices, including the Frequency Wave Transmitter. His invention has spread throughout the world and influenced the creation of many other wireless devices we know today.

Roberto Landell was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1861. His father, Ignacio de Moura, and his five brothers, João, Edmundo, and Ricardo, were apothecaries; Dr. Ignacio Landell was a physician; and Pedro Landell de Moura was a merchant from São Paulo. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1886 in Rome and also devoted himself to the study of physical sciences, which opened up a path of creations and inventions.

Father Landell wanted to merge science and religion, believing his discoveries were "a gift from God." But he became embroiled in the centuries-old conflict between obscurantism and science, during which his instruments were destroyed in Brazil by those who accused him of making a pact with the devil.
