I believe that it was Romeo who was mostly responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. This is due to Romeo's weak heart, which led him to falling "in love" with Rosaline, and if this crush had never happened, then Benvolio and Mercutio would not have persuaded Romeo to go to the party where he met Juliet. At this point, Romeo would never have gone to Juliet's balcony, and they never would've gotten married.

Firstly, the feud, obviously, but also Tybalt, for aggravating Romeo and causing him to die, causing Romeo to be banished, also Juliet's parents for forcing her to marry, making her desperate. Lastly, Friar Lawrence's plans tricked people into thinking Juliet was dead, being the major reason for them actually dying.

I believe this because Balthasar in a way interfered with Friar Laurence's plan so Romeo didn't know it was a scheme so Juliet didn't marry Paris. It was Friar John's fault because he was unable to deliver the message to Romeo so Romeo didn't know that Juliet wasn't actually dead, but he is the least responsible for their deaths because he wasn't allowed to leave Verona. And it was Friar Laurence's fault because he did not have a back up plan for if something like this were to happen.

I say this because way back at the party Tybalt shouldn't have challenged Capulet's authority because that's what got him embarrassed. He blamed this embarrassment on Romeo so he challenged him weeks later. I think it was also Tybalt's fault because he killed Mercutio which was Romeo's bestfriend. Causing Romeo so fight and kill Tybalt this getting him banished from Verona and hated by the Capulet's even more. I also think its Romeo's fault as well because he went against his own vision and went to the party. He knew something bad was going to happen if he went and he still went anyways. Friar L. also played a role in this as well.
