The book takes place in a dystopian city where the bill of rights have been revoked. They have been replaced by the Moral Statues. The setting of a dystopian city with harsh laws where even holding hands is considered indecency and is punishable by arrest, trial, and even death is very important because without this setting, there would not be the problems that the characters face.

Ember, a seventeen year old girl, does not agree with the ways of the "moral militia" or the Federal Bureau of Reformation. Ember has a lasting impression on Chase though she does not realize it in the beginning. We see this because of the way Chase treats Ember throughout the book. For instance when he fights those two men for her and almost sacrifices himself. She is always thinking for a solution. She speaks a lot against the Federal Bureau of Reformation, for instance when she " I liked the idea of people striking against the mm."

The Federal Bureau of Reformation is the antagonist. They are the ones who took away Ember's mom. This was one of the main conflicts. Not only is it a Man vs. Man conflict but later it is a Man vs Herself conflict. I know this because she becomes conflicted when she finds out how her mother died.

The theme of this book is that sometimes the person you love can be right next to you the whole time and you do not even know it. I know this because Ember's love was Chase but she did not know it until the very end when he told her. She finally knew when Chase told him how she was home for him.

I thought Article Five was a very good book. It was very believable because there is definitely a possibility of removing the bill of rights. The characters were very believable with real world problems. I personally love sci-fi books... especially dystopian books. I love the writing style of this book. This book was a very fun, exciting book. The characters relationship with one another was funny but also cool. Ember is a very relatable person in the way of her problems and the way she feels about her problems. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. It's a good read for any age, but some of the concepts are hard to get so a high schooler would enjoy this book the most.

Chase, as a leader.

Chase is a definite leader in this book. The way Chase just takes control of the situation as the two robbers jump them shows us that he is a leader. Another example of him being a leader is when he breaks Ember out of the facility. He once agains takes control of the situation and comes out victorious. The way he always is a successful leader makes him a great leader.
