The Survival Game 2023! (Learning Points + Reflections ♥) by Mrs Esther Ng

Dear boys, Hope you had enjoyed playing the Survival Game as I had spent some time to get all the items ready for this game. :) If you have enjoyed the game, do share which aspects of the game you had enjoyed. Is it the role which you like? Or it is something else? If the experience was not as good as you had expected, do also let me know what are the areas of improvement which can be made. Also, what are some learning points from this game? Mrs Ng did not make everyone run around the area for no reason too! Will love to hear from you all. :)

1. I enjoyed the game a lot. Some areas were that we can run and that you can attack people. As running is good exercise for you and that by attacking people it matches what happens in real life.
2. Some learning points are that:
1. Herbivores are powerless to carnivores and omnivores.
2. Humans are very powerful and are able to kill or help animals.
3. As carnivores can easily kill all of the animals so with only 3 the animal population will not easily ger wiped out. For omnivores, this is as there are a lot of herbivores and herbivores have a lot of lives so they are hard to kill and need a lot of animals to kill.
(But, based on a survey conducted by researchers the carnivores are 63%, herbivores are 32% and omnivores 3% of the animals.)
4. Human. The human can easily kill anyone by just telling them to die and they are dead. Which can also lead to mass murder. Plus, the human can also revive the dead and help the injured and the human can send anyone to anywhere and make them do anything.
5. To kick our anyone who breaks the rules and the majority agrees that the person broke them. As .some break the rules and get away with it and continue breaking them. Also, make the animals wait for like 30 seconds to get another box, if not then even if there is a time limit, they can just go to another box beside it and survive.

1. Yes I did. I was happy and excited that I was the human. It gave me many advantages. The best thing about being a human is that I could command other animals to do what I want. Besides, I still dominated the Disease and Natural disaster. I could also get lives and give away lives anytime I wanted. I could also make the animals do silly things, such as chicken dance in the zoo!

2. In real life, life is that way. The herbivores are eaten by the carnivores. It is also hard to survive in the wild as animals. They face threats from natural disasters, diseases, and predation from other animals. It is also hard to find food, water and shelter.

3. The following combinations: Herbivores (10-12), Omnivores (7-8) & Carnivores (3). In the food chain, 10% of all energy is transferred when eaten. Herbivores only eat plants. There are many many plants around, each with the most energy, that they obtain from the sun. There are more herbivores to obtain more energy from the plants. Likewise, there are lesser carnivores and omnivores to prey on more of the herbivores for a successful food chain. This way, having the most herbivores and the least apex carnivores would ensure a successful food chain.

4. The HUMAN! The human (me) could basically just do whatever he wanted to do, including terminating ALL THE PLAYERS FROM THE GAME! They must do whatever he wanted them to do, including giving away lives and etc.

5. Yes. Firstly, natural disaster and disease can kill a human. The human should either have tools to dominate the natural disaster and disease, or just be inferior to it. Secondly, in real life, animals have defenses such as horns etc. Lastly, the omnivores should not be inferior to the carnivores. The omnivores eat carnivores in real life too. The omnivores should be equal to the carnivores in the game.

I learnt that everything in life is connected and i learnt about the food web.
3. This would ensure that there are enough people in the game to play and enough food for the carnivores and omnivores.
If the number of carnivores is increased the the number of herbivores is decreased, the carnivores and omnivores would run out of food quite quickly and the game would not be as fun.
4. The human. The human can do whatever he wants and get as many lives as he wants. He can even put the animals in the zoo! (SOMEHOW he put the DISEASE and NATURAL DISASTER in the ZOO too!?)
5. I think you can limit the number of people and the amount of time allowed for them to spend at each box/supply station.

P.S. For every link between two organisms, there are less energy being transferred from one organism to another. Thus, the population of the organism goes down along the food chain.

Yes. There will be too many carnivores and they will consume all the herbivores for food and they will have no food left.

4. The human. They can protect, kill or "revive" the organisms. Their decisions kill the organism or benefit them.

5. We should have several "stages". When one stage ends, the teacher would have to look at everybody's cards and those without either food, shelter and water will be eliminated. Humans should also be able to move the markers around the boxes so its harder for the herbivore.

Because then there is some variety in the game and it will matter which type of animal you are, otherwise, there would be no reason why carnivores would be better than herbivores.

2) About how the survival of the animals higher in the food chain depends on the survival of the animals lower in the food chain.

3) So that the herbivores and omnivores will not run out of lives too fast.

4) Human.

1. Yes, I enjoyed the game. I liked the whole idea and setup of the game, including the boxes with water, food, and shelter underneath (or nothing at all). It stimulates the real life scenario quite well, with all animals needing to find them. In some areas, it was quite realistic. Those that were not were usually for a reason. I mean, someone can't just, like, 'die' when he was tagged once.
I like my role a lot, but I feel that it can be nerfed a lot.
Most people were also following the rules, hunted others in the right time, and handed over their cards without arguing. This made the game much more fun.
Most people.
2. I learnt that in the ecosystem (real life), everyone has to compete for food, and ultimately, survival. For the same food or shelter, you might need to go through a very dangerous process of death and life. Whether you are eating, hunting or resting, you have to always watch out for potential threats or dangers, like larger predators or annoying humans.
Also, if everyone does what they should do and respects the game rules, it can be very, very fun. However, sometimes things are not stated in the rules, or if someone makes use of the rules to do something toxic, its really bad. Like when you thumbs down pin.
3. The number combination for Herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores is probably based on the fact that more herbivores die in real life compared omnivores, who die more than carnivores. this is because herbivores, well, are herbivores and don't kill other animals, and only get killed. The same theory applies to carnivores and omnivores. Based on the energy transfer through trophic levels, the predator gets only about 10% of the prey's total energy, predators need to consume a whole lot of prey to satisfy their energy needs (or maybe they are just, like, greedy).
Based on the number combinations, herbivores have the highest number followed by omnivores, then carnivores have the least numbers, which makes sense.
If the number of carnivores increased but the number of herbivores decreased, the balance and stability would be gone. Carnivores would dominate the game, and in no time all the herbivores would probably be sent to the RIP corner. Even Fonel the human won't be fast enough to revive them all.
4. The human.
No one has any kind of defense against humans, not even natural disaster and disease (which honestly doesn't make sense but ig). The human can do anything he wants to everyone else, and cannot be stopped. TBH Fonel is quite a nice human overall, but if the human was someone who likes to see animals die, the game would be unplayable.
5. I feel that one suggestion would be to limit the number of animals at each box at a time, and the time they spend at each box. This is to prevent people from camping at boxes where they are safe. Carnivores and Omnivores should also not wait next to boxes, or the game would no longer be fair or fun.
The human, natural disaster and disease are also too OP, and should be nerfed. The animals should have some kind of defense mech against them, especially the human. I feel that it is quite unreasonable to have the human do anything he wants. Natural disaster and disease should also have limited space, as they have a ranged attack. They should also be able do bad stuff to humans, and not vice versa. (real life).

I enjoyed the game very much. It was fun to run around and pick up markers to tick my card, and also try to avoid threats all around me, but like other games, it has its flaws, which I will get around to later.

I have learnt from this game that prey has to constantly run away from predators in order not to get caught, and that even apex predators like the carnivores in this game also have threats to be aware of, such as the diseases and natural disasters.

Thoughtful Mrs Ng purposely set the number of each type of animal to be different for the sake of balance. If there were too much omnivores and carnivores, the herbivores will be constantly losing HP. Likewise, if there were too many carnivores alone, then omnivores and herbivores will constantly losing HP, and then the herbivores will get picked on by the omnivores too. If there were too much herbivores, then it will be no fun for anybody, as carnivores and herbivores will not very need to chase people (Surrounded by Edibles),
And all the herbivores will just be kind of making a “force field” of sorts where it’s all crowded in places except near the herbivore’s predators.

Human is the most powerful. Human has immunity to disease and natural disaster, and in my game, even stole HP from the them. Humans cannot be harmed AT ALL and can do anything at his own will, including hurt and save. Good thing the human was still relatively good hearted in my game, even reviving people, and as far as I know, did not kill anybody.

Now, it gets to the part where I have to say the flaws of the game, and there are many.
First, like said in class, herbivores can “camp” by indefinitely touching boxes, therefore being immune to all threats. This, also like said in class, can be negated by giving the immunity a time limit, say…3 seconds, and after 3 seconds the herbivore has to find another box.
Second, even though this isn’t exactly a problem in the game, we could give the prey ability to avoid getting tagged by predators instead of just running, and so can predators.
For example, there could be a herbivore that if he taps the attacker before the attacker taps him, the attacker cannot move for 1 second. Now, some herbivores might be able to organise to infinitely stun a specific person, so we’re giving this ability a 3 or 5 (I can’t decide) second cooldown, besides, if people gang up to torture a particular person, other predators can just come and tag them instead. I have other ideas such as a herbivore with much more HP, and also a carnivore that has a “false side” of his card that is green while still having one side red (this doesn’t sound like much of a difference, but when you’re actually looking at so much expel at once, you might not notice the trap.
Third, some characters need nerfs. Disease and natural disaster should be nerfed so that they can only shoot when they stand at a specific place, but maybe on opposite sides of the play area, to avoid people just crowding in one area to avoid them. Human should still be able to get hurt by disease and natural disaster, and also by animals who can deal damage, but as long as the human can tap the animal before it taps the human, the human gets to decide the animal’s fate.
Fourth, there isn’t really an objective in the game. I mean, well, you go around eating other animals, but then what? Is it about having the most HP at the end? Or something? I propose having a system where when the game ends, everybody adds up their HP and food/water/shelter points together and whoever has most wins. (Excluding disease and natural disaster because grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
Fifth and last,
Ban Trevor
Yup
That’s the last one
BanTrevorCorp.Pte.Ltd
And maybe Yize too

End
And yes I purposely made this very loving compared to usual as a joke and also because I REALLY want Mrs Ng to see my ideas

Also, we learn that prey must be nimble as not to be eaten by predators while get food at the same time.

These combinations are important as there is balance in that combination: there are not too many carnivores, and there are enough herbivores to sustain the omnivores and there are enough omnivores for the carnivore to feed on. If the number of carnivores was increased and the number of herbivores was decreased, the game would become less fun as there are too many carnivores that would catch more omnivores and the omnivores cannot "heal" because there are too few herbivores to feed on.

I feel that the human is the most powerful character.

1. I enjoyed the competitiveness of the game, and also the fact that the game is quite realistic, as there are stations where necessities were stationed. Also, the human had quite a lot of powers, and I wonder how the human gives lives to animals?

2. The herbivores are very pressured for survival, and the key to survival is either to band together just to all run away the moment a predator comes, or to camp at resources. While I agree that camping might be a bit unfair to the carnivores and omnivores, as they have no chance to eat, the herbivores would die out very quickly with carnivores, omnivores, Kyler the Disease, Yikun the Natural Disaster, and Ronel, the all-powerful Human all trying to kill it.

3. I think this is because this would allow the herbivores to survive, because if there is more predators that prey, the prey will die out, and there will be less chemical potential energy for the predators. They prey will also die out (like the herbivores nearly did).

4. I think the human is the most powerful character. The human has an ability to revive and terminate any animal, and also give them lives, which is very powerful. Also, the human can put animals in the zoo, with is both a good and bad thing. The human can give animals lives when they are in the zoo, and he can also trap them. (Why did ronel trap Disease and Natural Disaster in the zoo?)

5. I think there should be a time limit and limit of the number of people at the resource box to prevent too much camping, and there should be a little increase in the amount of lives to allow the animals to live longer. There should also be a time limit to how much Disease and Natural Disaster can attack. I was at one life because of them when Ronel put me in the zoo and gave me lives.

All in all, the game was good, and I hope Mrs Ng can let us play it again!

1. Yes, I enjoyed the game. I enjoyed running away from the viruses, natural disasters, predators and omnivores.

2. I learnt about how the ecosystem works and how the prey can easily be caught by predators and struck by diseases and natural disasters.

3. To maintain a balanced ecosystem. The herbivores, which are caught more quickly, will have the highest population. The omnivores, which are slightly harder to catch, will have the second-highest population. Finally, carnivores, which can only be struck by natural disasters and diseases, have the lowest population. By doing so, the ecosystem will be balanced, and there will not have too much of herbivores, omnivores or carnivores, as it might lead to the extinction of a certain category.

4. Human.
He can send give an animal more lives, remove an animal's life, or even domesticate an animal. <del>(He can also domesticate a natural disaster.)</del>

5.

Increase the allocated space so that we can run more and it will be harder to get caught.

Increase the duration of the game, so that we eliminate more people and just have just a few people left.

Increase the number of stations of food and water to avoid overcrowding and long queues at the stations.

Only allow the natural disasters and diseases to stay along the two parallel sides so that it is easier to spot them.

Ensure that each person (including herbivores, omnivores and carnivores) is only able to be at the stations for 30 seconds.

Less population of carnivore prey - or in the real world, less food for the carnivores
5. Bigger area would be better.

1. I enjoyed the game and it was fun running around. The game also features a hunting process that me and others enjoyed.

2. The learning points are:
The food chain consists of many organisms that transfer energy through successive stages of feeding.
The animals have to run and not be detected by prey for a higher chance of a successful hunt.

3. The herbivores must be most abundant as there are less carnivores to feed on less herbivores which means that less herbivores will die.

Since most of the energy is lost in the form of Heat when energy is transferred through feeding, there will not be enough energy for the carnivores to survive when they are competing for the same energy source (real life)

If there are too many carnivores, the herbivores will die as the carnivores will feed on the herbivores (game)

4. The human (of course). He can literally kill anyone he wants. Also, he cannot be killed by anything except himself (suicide) and also has infinite range and no cooldown.

5. Here are the suggestions:
1) Create a herbivore corner so that the carnivores and omnivores cannot just wipe out the herbivores instantly.

2) Add more meaning for the resource gathering mechanism. In the first version that we just played, the resources do not really mean anything. A possible fix is to make it such that right before the game ends, those with less than a certain amount of resources will die.

3. The human definitely does not need to be this broken. A possible way to downgrade him is to create a cooldown for the kills and commands to be given. Otherwise, the human can just wipe everyone in the game. The human must also only target one person as it is not realistic in the real world that a human can kill or revive 3 animals at once. The last way to fix it is that natural disasters and diseases can kill the human like it does in real life. The human will still be very strong, but not as overpowered as he is now.

Broken: Very overpowered

1. Yes, I enjoyed the game. I enjoyed catching herbivores (I was an omnivore) and running away from other animals. It is something like catch.

2. Although the herbivores are 'weak' , some managed to survive. This lets me learn that an ecosystem that is sustainable is something like that. (The herbivores don't get overhunted)

3. More herbivores because they are the easiest to get killed/hunted. Less at the top because harder to get killed/hunted.

4. The human. The human can make animals do anything. The human can kill all the animals if he wants. This is where the 30-second rule is helpful. That way the human needs to take longer to kill all the animals.

5. I suggest making a food web instead of a food chain in the game. e.g. Omnivores can eat Carnivores... I mean, Omnivores eat meat too!

Add more living things, such as decomposers, agents of decomposition.

Also, you can make the human less powerful, so that it would be more fair. e.g. Carnivores can eat human, and so on.

About the disease, can you make something about spreading a disease? e.g. Disease infects you. Disease takes 1 of your lives. Disease will hang on to you until you get eaten by another animal. The other animal would have the disease then. If the human gets the disease, human can give the disease to any animal he points at.

About the natural disaster, why does only one animal get affected? That's not how it works in real life. Maybe natural disaster can affect, let's say, 1/2 of the population of animals and human. That, the natural disaster must choose.

For now, water, food, shelter is useless. What if every ten minutes, you call everyone back and you can check everyone's cards.
10 mins - 2 water, 2 food, 2 shelter
20 mins - 4 water, 4 food, 4 shelter
30 mins - 6 water, 6 food, 6 shelter
If the animal does not satisfy the conditions, it will -1 life.

Next, why don't you add different types of food... grass for herbivores, insects for omnivores, deer for carnivores, chicken wing for human...
So that it will be harder to find the food.

And that's about it.

1. I enjoyed the game, especially the part where you get to "eat" the other players, as it was fun chasing and taking the life cards and there was a sense of accomplishment every time I got one.
2. Some learning points are that the number of predators is less than prey and that humans, disease and natural disasters cannot be prevented by the creatures.
3. Herbivores are eaten by omnivores and carnivores while omnivores are eaten by carnivores but not the other way around, so herbivores need to be more than omnivores which need to be more than carnivores.
4. I think the most powerful character is the human because as long as the human points at something, the human can do whatever he wants with the creature and the creatures cannot harm him.
5. I think that
     1. There should be a grace period after some specific actions.
     2. Once in a while Mrs. Ng needs to blow the whistle and when she does that, someone will check if all the creatures have enough resource stamps and if they do not have enough, they will lose 1 life card.
     3. There should be some creatures that are both a herbivore/carnivores/omnivores and a scavenger. Every 100 seconds, the scavenger can go to the graveyard and pick up 1 life card.
     4. There should be a poison card. Basically, whenever the new character (poison) hits a creature with a beanbag, the creature has one life card replaced with a poison life card. Whenever a creature that is poisoned is eaten by another one, the number of poison life cards plus one in the eaten creature will be the number of life cards of that creature that is replaced with poison life cards. (the predator will still get one card from the prey) When a creature has poison life cards in its possession and 60 seconds is up, the poison life cards will be taken away.
     5. Omnivores and Carnivores can tag each other, but in order to see who is the predator and who is the prey, they will have a match of scissors, paper, and stone and the winner is the predator.
6. The human gets a debuff. The human cannot take away all the lives of a creature (animal lives matter) and he cannot revive creatures (not possible in real life)

It is similar to real life, where higher trophic levels gain less energy and hence have fewer members in that level.

Yes. The carnivores would quickly kill off all the herbivores and would then die out too.

4. The human. The human can command anyone to do anything, which is the same amount of power expected of an emperor of the universe (which humans are not).

5. Ok. 1) The human should be part of the game as another creature that could eat the carnivores and omnivores only to ensure that the herbivores can thrive for longer. However, this human has three lives as well and also must wait thirty seconds before another catch.

2) The game can be modified such that after a period of time, the herbivores, omnivores and carnivores will all gain more members if they have at least two members left, such that to win, the carnivores, omnivores and humans must act quickly.

3) Instead of having quite unrealistic Natural Disasters and Diseases, there can be 2 Virae and 2 Bacterium which gain members a minute based on how many people they have "infected". If a bacteria/virus has not newly infected anybody within 1 minute, it will 'die out'. Of course, the virae and bacterium have to tag others as well, and have to wait thirty seconds after one tag. (Limits number of newly infected people per minute to two or one.) See how long the virae and bacterium can run rampant!

4) The teacher can start "Natural Disasters" after 5 minutes, upon which the students in a one metre radius to the chosen "epicenter" will lose two lives, while all the others will only lose one life.

5) Zombie Apocalypses are allowed.
Yes, you saw me right.
During a zombie apocalypse, the bacterium and virae morph into zombacterium and zombirae. They will infect as many people as they can for two minutes. However, during this time, no other creatures can harm one another and must only collect food, water and shelter. If a creature has been infected, it must sit down and not move. At the end of the zombie apocalypse, every creature that has been turned into a zombie will lose two lives.

Wait... what's that groaning sound over there? AHHH! ZOMBIE! RUN!!!!!

Thank you for your patience. Please accept my proposal. I enjoyed being brutally eaten by omnivores and carnivores, and altough the zoo imprisonment was a bit boring, it saved my life from certain death.

2. I learnt how the food chain works, and even though there is no energy transferred in this game, I learnt how energy is transferred from the food to the herbivores to the carnivores or omnivores and then to whatever is at the top of the food chain.

3. As herbivores are unable to eat anything and regain life cards, they have to depend on being able to run away to survive. The omnivores can be eaten by carnivores, so they still have more lives than carnivores, but carnivores only have 3 lives so that they will die more easily to disease, natural disaster and omnivores.

also no it would not affect the game if the number of omnivores and carnivores are increased or decreased, as they can eat each other, and there is no teaming up in the game

4. I think the most powerful character in this game is the HOOMAN. While disease and natural disaster are all quite powerful because they have no way to get rid of them, but humans can cure diseases and natural disaster, and also kill any animal on sight if they want. They can also domesticate them, as what happened to me.

5. I think you should change the number of lives for carnivore and omnivore, as omnivore has 2 different food sources, plant and animal, while carnivore HAS to eat meat. However, in this game, the carnivore has no advantage over the omnivore, and vice versa. So I think that the carnivore and omnivore lives should be the same

1.
I enjoyed the game. I like that the animals all have more than one life (even though it is not realistic, but is essential) because all the animals can have their lives deducted again and again, so having more lives is better for the continuity of the game.
2.
Some learning points I have gotton from this game include:
- in the environment, there are food chains (and food webs) that involve animals that eat each other
- Animals in the environment can be classified into 3 main groups; namely herbivores (only eats plants) , carnivores (only eats meat) and omnivores (eats both meat and plants).
3.
I think that it is because in the natural environment, the herbivores are largest in population, followed by the omnivores and then the carninvores.
It would make a difference. If the number of carnivores increase by, say about 5, and the number of herbivores decreases by 5, the carnivores and omnivores would quickly hunt down and keep taking lives from the herbivores. The same is done for the omnivores after the herbivores become extinct.
4.
I think the human, the natural disaster and the disease are the most powerful. In the natural environment, they can sort of 'play God' and choose which animal to keep, and which to kill (actually, this can only be said for the human but the others are elements of nature)
5.
Some suggestions my classmates and I came up with include:
- a time limit for herbivores and omnivores to be at a box (shelter, water and food). The same goes for the carnivores, so that they cannot wait for a specific animal to leave the shelter and rush up to kill it.
- a rule that omnivores and carnivores cannot wait for prey to finish giving cards to someone else. (I came up with this becasue as a herbivore, I was tagged 5 times in 45 seconds. A certain carnivore was the main cause of it, taking 2 of my lives there. Thankfully, Ronel saved me by giving me one more life. sort of...)
- Humans cannot control the two forces of nature and thus should have lives. Based on fact, humans can die. The forces of nature should be able to kill the human (eventually...). This was suggested by Yikun and I have expanded on it with a suggestion for the number of lives. I think the human(s) should have 5 lives.
- I also think that the forces of nature should be limited to some specific area. (the outer ring was suggested by someone. I think it was Isaac.) Perhaps we can take this suggestion and give them some sort of limit because a natural disaster running around is bad news)
- Now, the last point. Don't all food chains/webs start with a food source? I have a suggestion about food sources and I think one person being a food source would be enough. The food source can be sitting/standing/lying down (you get the idea) somewhere and give out green life cards to anyone who needs it. (In case you are hiring one, I am interested to be a food source.)

Question 1:
Yes, I enjoyed the game. I enjoyed being an OP sentient natural disaster that yeets beanbags at animals to ruin their lives. I also enjoyed watching the animals run around trying to get food, shelter, and water. As a natural disaster, these actions do not make sense to me >:). I enjoyed these areas because it was really fun to torture people with a ranged weapon that steals 2 life cards for each hit.
Question 2:
We can learn that in the wild, food, shelter, and water are not easy to find, and there is a lot of competition for them. Also, carnivores and omnivores tend to prey on herbivores a lot.
Question 3:
There needs to be the most herbivores as they are the primary predator in the food chain. However, carnivores are the highest in the food chain (ignoring the Three OP Sentient Entities of The Survival GameTM), and if there were the same number of carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores, carnivores would quickly prey on ALL the omnivores, and in turn, the herbivores. This would break the survival game.
So yes, it would make a difference to the gameplay if the number of carnivores is increased and the number of herbivores is decreased.
Question 4:
I think the hooman is the most powerful character in this game. The human can do anything from force an animal to give him all their life cards, to make him completely unable to prey on others. Also, he is part of the Three OP Sentient Entities of The Survival GameTM which means that he CANNOT DIE.
Question 5:
I think that there should be some sort of food, water, and shelter requirement, and bonuses for getting each one. For example, getting 2 food and 2 water allows you to go to a station and get 1 extra life card if you do not already have full health/more than full health (from preying). Each shelter you get should allow you to go to a safe place for 10 seconds, to do - uh - something. Also, the Three OP Sentient Entities of The Survival GameTM should get an extra beanbag >:). Just kidding.
Actually, I think that the natural disasters and the disease should have a 5-second cooldown for each attack.
Well, that's it! :D bye

Q1. I enjoyed the part where everyone ran around, chasing other people and collecting life cards, because I had a sense of accomplishment every time I collected life cards. (I only collected 1 life card from Ronel to revive though :P)

Q2. Some learning points from this game is:

1. Life is not fair.

Q2. Animals don't have that many lives, so they have to cherish the one life they have, so they have to SURVIVE!!!!!

Q3. It is because it is more realistic, and the carnivores and the omnivores have more lives to collect.

Q4. I think the most powerful character is the human, because they can both revive and kill at their own will (bye bye and hello to the RIP corner), and nobody can ill them. I have seen Ronel bullying Kyler and Yikun by domesticating them and taking their life cards (the products of their aim).

Q5. Okay, I will tell you that this will be a mouthful to say.

Firstly, it is about camping at the cardboard boxes. It is so annoying! That is why I only collected 1 life from Ronel, and nobody else... I think there should be a time limit and how many people camping there. And that happens THE MOST with herbivores, and so it is hard for the higher ranking people to get them. Also, there could be a rule where even if they are at the cardboard box, the others can still get them.

Secondly, the cooldown for eating should be reinforced. Maybe, everyone has a stopwatch and will have to count their cooldown (apart from herbivores), and yes, EVEN humans! I feel that is is kind of unfair that the diseases, natural disasters and the carnivores and being bullied by the human infinitely. Also, a CERTAIN person does not follow the cooldown for their role. (Not stating names) Even the natural disasters must have a cooldown, or else people like Yikun who are very good at sniping will just destroy everybody.

Thirdly, the disease and the natural disaster should wear a sash and stand in the corner, or else they will stand as still as a statue and wait for somebody to come upon them by accident, then, pshew!!!! Bang! Ahhh! Takes their life card.

Fourthly, Herbivores should be able to "reproduce". Like for example every time they get a set of water, food and shelter, they can collect 1 life card.

Lastly, every few minutes, Mrs Ng can call everybody to gather, and those who have not collected water, food or shelter will lose one life. Yes, even human. However, unlike the animals, humans have to get the food from the animals, so each time they mark down food, one animal at random will lose 1 life. After the gathering, everybody's food, water and shelter will be removed, so they have to collect them again.

However, all my suggestions are assuming that we have a lot of time to play.

Thank you, and I hope my suggestions can be contributed to next year, so my juniors can have a better time playing. Also, the stopwatch idea can be not used, because it will be too expensive.

P.S. I have theory on how the human will dominate the game.

1. Gather all the herbivores and fly to a far away planet.

2. Come back after a while and find that all the omnivores and carnivores have died to disease and natural disaster.

3. Make a vaccine and kill the disease.

Nuke the earth, so there will be no more natural disasters.

4. Kill the herbivores.

You win!

:)

Carnivores like to prey on herbivores, just like the omnivores.
3. As the herbivores could not gain back their life points, it would be fairer for them to have more. Certainly - having so much power in the game gives feelings of pleasure (jk) and with the power to be able to do anything, the result will either end up amusing and cruel.
Another part of the game enjoyed was the part with diseases and natural disasters - bad for everyone, advantageous for the undead, the human and the disasters themselves. The addition of the poor undead who actually was undergoing punishment was fun - a rule enforcer as well as a grim reaper.
2. Learning points - the food chain + food web in real life.
3. The following combinations were used because the carnivores would obviously be able to have all the lives (the omnivores too), so it would be fairer to let the lower ones have more lives and the upper ones less.
4. Improvements:
- Humans should be able to use the carnivores to get them prey for consumption, OR be able to instruct anyone to form food for them.
Have to rush - more learning points tomorrow (Saturday).

I enjoyed the game as I could throw beambags at the carnivores, omnivores and the herbivores and I could only be controlled by the human (which did not happen thankfully - Thanks Gideon 😁).
2. Some of the learning points were definitely the food chain - I got to understand it better through the game (e.g. Carnivores eat herbivores and omnivores, omnivores eat plants and herbivores, herbivores eat plants)
3. If there are more Herbivores and less omnivores and carnivores, there will be a balance in the populations of the animals, like in real life, so that not all animals of the same species will die off.
4. The human is clearly the most powerful character. This is because he can command the natural disaster, the disease and the animals to do whatever he wants. He also is unable to die (other than of old age of course) to anything. He can also send the animals to the zoo and/or take as many lives as he wants.
5. I think you can improve the game by making the props a little more realistic by cutting out cardboard in the shape of water droplets, food, etc and also allow the resources to run out so as to make the game more realistic like in real life.

1. No. The herbivores have no way to regain life cards unless the human gives them some and they can be hunted by everything else so if they lose a life, they're almost never going to get it back. Also there can be two predators who one catches a herbivore, make the life transfer 30 seconds (fast counting), then the other predator catch the same herbivore and repeat. (An loop of death)
2. Carnivores are very powerful and herbivores are very weak.
3. So that the herbivores (and to some extent the omnivores) don't go "extinct".
3b. Yes it would. More people would be carnivores (and omnivores, as there will be people who would have been a herbivore but then the number of herbivores went down) so then the carnivores would have slightly less food (as one or two would-be omnivores got promoted to carnivore level) but there would be less herbivores to hunt and more omnivores to hunt and to hunt down the herbivores so the herbivores will go "extinct" quicker and then the omnivores will follow, which will make any surviving herbivores/omnivores more cautious.
4.

1. I enjoyed the game. It gave us a chance to run around, excercise and have some fun. We also learned things out of it as I prefer this way of having some fun every now and then to take the boredom of normal classes out of as. It is partly fun for me as I am a carnivore, and the disease, natrual disaster or human did not target me.
2. I learnt that the human is still the top of the food chain as it is the most powerful character in the game. I also learnt we need to have honesty as the thrity second rule for tagging is hard to keep track. ( tbh human should not be so overpowered. Natrual disasters still kill humans, 11000 were killed in 2019 alone.)
3. I think you wanted to show the contrast between the amount of herbivores omnivores or carnivores. As the carnivores prey on omnivores and herbivores, we cannot have too many carnivores or the game will not be fun to play.
4. Of course is the human, he can do anything he wants.
5. Remove the thirty second rule of tagging. Set a limit for the amount of times you can tag one person. Eg can tag herbivores 5 times max omnivores 3 times max etc etc. And only let the human take any amount of lives or the human can say go jump in a lake and you have to or he can also make your life miserable by letting you do inf push ups,( PROVIDED GIDEON AND RONEL ARE IN A VERY BAD MOOD) sorry for caps.

1. Yes. I liked that we got to do physical activities like running as we never get to do those is science lesson except for going to the Science lab.
2. Living things need food, water and shelter to survive.
3. So it would be a balanced ecosystem.
There would not be enough herbivores for the carnivores to feed on.
4. The human. The human can control all the animals as he have the resources to do everything, like the zoo.
5. We can make the play area bigger, make hiding places and let the herbivores and omnivores have defense mechanism.

1. I enjoyed the game, because we get to run around, and it also requires me to evade the predators, which I found fun.

2.
- humans have a lot of power over animals
- some communities do not really have a distinguishable apex or top predators.

3. So that it will not be not complicated and it will also be fair to each role in a way.
Yes it will, as the remaining herbivores will be even more helpless as they don’t have as many other herbivores they can use to divert the omnivores or carnivores, and with more carnivores, after they have killed all the herbivores which will be much easier, the game will become substantially more boring, as it is just the omnivores and carnivores left, and they both can kill each other.

4. The human, as he has complete control over all the other organisms and can do however he likes, and he also does not have to run from anyone.

5. The herbivores are too helpless and should have some type of self defence, such as having poisonous or sharp parts on their body, that can also damage the predators when attacked.

1. I enjoyed the game very much. as it incorporates elements of active learning, role-playing, competition, and cooperative learning. The game allows us to actively engage with the concepts we are learning about food webs and chains, which can increase their motivation and retention of the material. By playing the role of different organisms in the ecosystem, we can develop a deeper understanding of how each organism interacts with others in the food chain, and how each organism's survival is dependent on the other organisms in the ecosystem. The game also involves an element of competition, as the carnivores and omnivores try to catch the herbivores. This help to reinforce the concept of competition in nature.

2. Understanding predator-Prey Relationships: By playing the roles of predators and prey, we develop a better understanding of the dynamics of predator-prey relationships, including the adaptations that predators use to catch their prey, and the defenses that prey use to avoid being caught.
Ecosystem Dynamics: The game can also provide insights into the larger dynamics of ecosystems, including how energy flows through the food chain, how populations of different organisms interact, and how human activities can impact ecosystems.

3.
a. The specific combinations of players assigned to each role in the game may have been chosen based on a number of factors, such as the number of students in the class, the complexity of the ecosystem being simulated.

b. The gameplay could be affected if the number of carnivores is increased and the number of herbivores is decreased. With fewer herbivores, there would be less prey for the carnivores to hunt, which could result in shorter games or less competition among the carnivores. However, with more carnivores, there would be more predators chasing the herbivores, which could make the game more challenging and exciting for the herbivores. Ultimately, it all depends on the scale of the game and the strategies players employ.

4. The human. The human has the ability to kill, revive, and domesticate all the other organisms in the food chain just like in real life. The human can also destroy diseases and even terminate omnivores and carnivores.

5. I have 2 suggestions for the improvement of the game
a. There should be a bigger space to play in (ISH, School Hall) and more obstacles so that hiding and chasing can be more challenging and engaging.
b. Herbivores should be allowed to take other forms of defenses other than attacking. This enables cooperation and will potentially help students understand the balance between competition and cooperation in nature, as organisms compete for resources but also rely on each other to survive. I suggest allowing herbivores to defend themselves with traps.

1) I enjoyed the game as I could hunt people a lot. I just needed to catch the people who were slower than me but stay away from the carnivores.

2)Learning points:
The carnivores are the apex predator(aka the boss)
The zoo is the safest place because you cant get eaten.
Humans are very powerful
We can wreck the earth if we want
But it's bad for us

3)The herbivores have no way to regain health so a lot must be needed for the omnivores and carnivores to eeeeeeeat so we need a lot. In real life however it would be like this:
                                     | <-carnivore
                                ||||||||||          <- omnivore
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||Herbivore (da line is out of da page)

The herbivores would be wiped out as there will be too few and they would be hunted down quickly. Also, the EXTRA carnivores would just eat through the prey like pac man and just have a 1 second long buffet.

4) I think that the human is the most powerful. He cannot be harmed and can even control disease and natural disaster and make them do chicken dance. He also has the power to revive stuff. I think he should be rebranded as "GOD OF THE UNIVERSE" and have someone else be the human or something as humans cannot revive anything (so far)

5)Some suggestions:

Hoomans:
They start out as the equivalent of an omnivore and then improve over time. also there are multiple. humans are social animals (oh right yea 10 lives)

Some timings for refrence:
Game start:
1000000ya ancient hoomans with super sad tools
equivalent of omnivore

2 min into game:
500000ya hoomans + fire
humans can hunt omnivore but if they catch one there is a 50% chance(flip coin)that they kill it or if not it escapes.
humans can also hunt carnivore but if they catch one there is a 50% chance(flip coin again)that they kill it or if not it kills them (lost 1 life).

4 min into game:
250000ya hoomans + better stone tools
Hoomans equivalent of carnivores
if they try to hunt carnivore same thing happens

10 min into game:
30000ya hoomans + dogs
can hunt carnivores but same thing happens. (up until AD 0 they have 50 percent chance of killing or getting killed by carnivores so i'm not gonna repeat)

15 min into game:
10000-8000ya hoomans + Farm +herbivore friends+ cities
Now the humans can just domesticate herbivores. To do that, they must repeat saying
NEVERGONNAGIVEYOUUP 5 times to the herbivore but while doing that the carnivores can just sneak up and eat the human . the zoo rules are exactly the same. Totally Legal lol
what do u expect im jacob bruh

20 min into game:
AD 0 hoomans + Bigger cities + finally people think of new stuff +lots of inventions

Humans can now not be harmed by carnivores but still by disease and natural disaster. Now the humans can also domesticate omnivores. To do that, they must repeat saying
NEVERGONNAGIVEYOUUP 10 times to the herbivore but while doing that the carnivores can still sneak up and eat the human.

25 min into game:
middle ages hooman + castle + a lot of wars
Now the hooman can attack each other.
2 humans pick a fight with each other.
to see who wins, see who can gather the most lifes in a set amount of time. The loser gives the winner 5 lives.
Natural disasters deal only 1 damage to the humans now.
But disease deals 3 (oof)
black death be like

30 min into game:
1700s to 1938 hoomans + colonialism +WW1
Now when the hoomans fight the winner gets total control over the loser. The loser can rebel by saying "Rebellion!" so they must battle AGAIN but if the loser loses the he gives ALL the lives except 1 to the winner. otherwise he gets freedom and also steal 2 lives from the 'boss' human

35 min into game:
1939 hoomans
WW2 hoomans +nukes
The humans have to split up into 2 groups:
allies and axis
(now war game)
oh by the way the names dont matter just pretend
in the 5 minutes from 35 min to 40 min, the humans must gather as much resources as possible and persuade the animals (but not disease or natural disaster) to go to their side. after 5 mins the TOTAL lives on each team will be counted. more lives win, less lives lose .all the loser's lives except 1 will be given to the winning humans to split up among themselves(and also the animals if they feel kind)

40 mins and beyond:
After that hoomans
basically boss of world.but cannot kill/attack/command disease/natural disaster.
everything deals only 1 health of damage to them
just dont die
see human cool

Revival:
Herbivores are revived after 2 min
Omnivores are revived after 4 min
Carnivores are revived after 6 min
Humans are revived immediately but have to stay under a 'parent's care(fellow hooman)for 1 min. during that time the baby human cant attack anything.

Herbivores have a 'recharging station'
every 2 min they regain 2 lives. But the station is manned (by the undead?) so the people who camp get yeeted out.

      /﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉\
     | RECHARGING STATION |
     ║﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉║
     ║ O ║
     ║ ╱|╲ Free health 2 per 2 min║
     ║﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉║

some text art up there

but keep the present number of animals.
