I am using my Thinglink assignment to demonstrate my ability to strategically use technology. In this assignment I had to do research online, read online articles, and form a claim based on my research. This assignment demonstrates my growth because in the beginning of the year all I would do was just click on the first link I saw. However, for this assignment I had to make sure the websites were reliable using the C.R.A.P method to see which were actually good and gave me the information I need. Currently, I would give myself a C because even though I am better at strategically using technology, I am still not that great and I feel like I can still improve. My goal for next semester is to bring that C up to B because ill have a whole entire semester to improve on my use of technology and ill probably learn new things to enhance my ability.

Demonstrates Independence

I am using my history notes to show my ability to demonstrate independence. In this assignment I had to read three chapters independently and take notes on them. This assignment demonstrates my growth because I had to do this assignment independently during Thanksgiving break and I could of easily chosen not to do them. I had to look for key ideas and big events that took place during the time period. In the beginning to the semester I probably wouldn't of taken the notes because I hardly did any homework, but now I know that I am in charge of my own learning and taking notes would be a good resource to assist me. Currently, I give myself a C because i have improved in doing my homework and getting my resources and information independently but i'm still struggling a little in discerning a speakers key points and building on others ideas. My goal for next semester in to maybe raise up the C to a B or keep it the same because this is one of the harder traits to do for me to do.

Understand Other Perspectives

I am using my assignment, Socratic Seminar reflection to demonstrate my ability to understand other peoples perspectives. In this assignment I had to explain how my thoughts of the topic had changed as a result of listening to my classmates ideas and their perspective on the topic.This assignment demonstrates my growth because I had to reflect on how my ideas and my classmates ideas were different or similar which shows that I had to understand other peoples perspectives. In this beginning of the semester I think that I wouldn't really care on the perspectives of my classmates but now I know that other peoples perspectives actually matter a lot more because they can change or enhance my ideas.Currently I give myself a B because I believe that I am pretty good at understanding others perspectives and getting new ideas from them.My goal for next semester is to get even better at this trait because I think that it is very important to be able to see others perspective because a lot of new ideas can come from it.

Content Knowledge

I am using my Revolution essay assignment to demonstrate my content knowledge. In this assignment I had to write an essay about a specific revolution, look for good evidence, and have strong commentary. This assignment demonstrates my growth in this trait because I actually had to look for good content and create good commentary in order to get a good grade. In the beginning of the semester, I had a hard time making good commentary and I still struggle a bit today. I am better that I was in the beginning of the semester because i've learned a lot of useful things to help me. This revolutions assignment is a perfect example because it required us to make a lot of commentary. Currently, I give myself a D in this trait because im still struggling and have not yet learned enough things to help me be better at this trait. My goal for next semester is to be better at creating strong commentary and evidence.

Varying Demands of Audience/Task

I am using my On Demand Literary Analysis assignment to demonstrate my ability to vary demands of an audience or task. In this assignment I had to explore the concept of internalized oppression using to excerpts that we were given. We had to see what the tone was and write about it. This assignment demonstrates my growth because we had to read with a purpose and respond to a task. If we had to do this in the beginning of the year I wouldn't really know what to do because i had not idea how to, but for this assignment I feel like I had a good understanding on what we had to do because we had been working on it for a long time. Currently I give myself a C in this area. This is because i'm still not really good at this trait but I am better at it that I was at the beginning of the semester which shows that I have improved in this trait. My goal for next semester is to improve in this area because this is one of the harder traits to be able to have.

Comprehend and Critique

I am using one of my history assignments to demonstrate my ability to comprehend and critique. In this assignment I had to be able to comprehend what the author was trying to claim and I had to critique weather their argument was good or not by showing evidence. This assignment demonstrates my growth because I wouldn't be able to do this in the beginning of the semester because I didn't have the knowledge that I have right now because ive learned new things to help me grow in this trait. Currently i give myself a B in this area because i am able to comprehend what the author is trying to say pretty good as well as critique. My goal for next semester is not to only get better at this trait but to also learn more new tings to help me with this trait.

Value Evidence

I am using my Complexity of the Igbo culture assignment to demonstrate my ability to value evidence. In this assignment we had to look fora quote in the book "Things Fall Apart" and cite it. We also had to do an analysis on the quote and explain the importance of it. This assignment demonstrates my growth because I didn't really know how to cite quotes or evidence in the beginning of the semester as well as I do now and for this assignment I did because through out the year we practiced citing things and learned how to use specific evidence that supported our ideas. Currently I would give myself a B on this trait because i believe that I can value evidence good and know how to cite my evidence. My goal for next semester is to get even better at and valuing evidence and finding stronger evidence.
