What do you feel is a fair minimum wage for employees working in California and nationwide in the U.S., especially those who work in the food service industry?

I feel like the fair minimum wage is $16, especially the ones in food service. It makes good money for handling with food and handling with something to fill others up and make people happy with their food. The higher the minimum wage is the higher taxpayers have to pay so it should not be too high for that either. It should be fair to both people in play.

What are your thoughts on the new Minimum Wage Ordinance that passed by the Seattle City Council on June 2, 2014 where the worker's wages were raised to $15.00 per hour?

I believe this statement is fair. $15 is fair to minimum wage workers in the food industry, it is a lot of responsibility for fast food workers to provide food for people. Like I said before though the more it goes up the more inflation rises and the more taxpayers have to pay, so there fore $15 would be good because it is fair to both if you are given a good schedule

What are your thoughts and personal opinions on the new California legislation signed into law by Governor Newsome that caps the 2023 fast-food minimum wage at $22.00 per hour?

I believe that this is not okay, that is honestly way too much for a fast food worker and that will cause so much inflation and taxes for people involved. Yes it is way more responsibility than retail however that is too much.

Do you think this is too much for an employer to be paying for a fast-food employee (such as at McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, etc.)? What do you feel is a fair wage to be paying a fast-food worker in California?

I do believe it is is way too much for these types of fast food and if you are a beginner that is way too much just to be working for fast food.I believe a fair wage is $15-$16. No fast food worker needs to be paying as much as a teacher is making since there are no credentials needed. Fats food workers do deserve some equal pay and it should be fair to everyone.

Are you surprised to see how low the minimum wage is in many States of the U.S. as compared to that of California, or other States with a higher minimum wage, such as Massachusetts?

Yes I am very surprised. However thats why California is much more expensive than other state. Other states may be cheaper to live in with nicer neighborhoods however their minimum wage is very low compared to California. The other states also higher at younger ages than California so many kids may have more experience.

Do you think this is fair that the decision on the minimum wage should be decided by the individual States, or should there be a nationwide minimum wage salary that is the same for all of the 50 States, and if so what do you feel would be a fair minimum wage for all employees?

No, I believe it should be decided by the individual state just like the laws. Not every state is the same nor should it be. Yes we are a Nation as a whole but not all states have the same population. For example California is no where near the same population and Alaska. Therefore, they need to keep it as individually.
