As an online learner, I am primarily motivated by the flexibility and autonomy that this format offers. The ability to create my own schedule allows me to balance my studies with personal and professional commitments, making learning more accessible and enjoyable. Additionally, the diversity of online resources and the opportunity to engage with a global community of learners inspire me to explore new ideas and perspectives.

As an online learner, I’m motivated by the fact that I can pursue my education in my pajamas with coffee in hand—what more could a busy mom ask for? With a house full of chaos (bless my wild and wonderful kids), online learning gives me a rare and magical thing: me time. When my husband takes over with the kids, I don’t run errands or clean—I dive into my coursework like it’s a vacation… okay, maybe not that relaxing, but still! Being able to work toward my goals from the comfort of home, on my own schedule, is glorious. It helps me stay focused and reminds me that I’m not just a mom or a wife—I’m also a woman with dreams (and decent Wi-Fi). That combo keeps me going, even on the days when my brain wants a nap more than it wants knowledge!

Being a stay-at-home mom homeschooling my 14- and 7-year-old while pursuing my education at Post has been one of the most empowering experiences of my life. The online format lets me be fully present for my children and still chase my own academic goals. It’s not always easy, but it’s absolutely worth it. The instructors are truly invested in our success, and the weekly discussion boards have become a space where I feel heard, connected, and inspired.

If you’re a parent thinking about taking this leap, know this: you can do it. Your dreams don’t have an expiration date. You’re showing your children what resilience, growth, and lifelong learning look like. Whether you’re brand new or returning after time away, you belong here. Keep going—even on the hard days—because what you’re doing matters!!

Why? Because I believe in showing my children that education doesn’t have to look one way. It can happen at the kitchen table, during nap time, or late at night when the house is finally quiet.

🎯 My motivation?

To model resilience and lifelong learning.

To show my kids that no matter your circumstances, you can grow, dream, and achieve.

To create a better future not just for myself, but for them—and for others who might feel like their situation is too hard to overcome.

Every lesson I complete is a step toward a brighter path. Every challenge I face is a chance to teach my children about perseverance, compassion, and the power of believing in yourself.

To all the parents, caregivers, and dreamers out there: you are not alone.
Still I Rise: A Student’s Journey Through Pain and Purpose

This journey hasn’t been easy for me. Behind the screen, behind the assignments and deadlines, there’s a woman who’s had to push through heartbreak, grief, and loss that tried to break her spirit.

I’ve lost some of the closest people to me, back to back. I’ve cried silently while writing discussion posts. I’ve stared at textbooks through swollen eyes, grieving and healing at the same time. There were moments when the pain felt too heavy, but giving up was never an option. Why? Because I see that goal at the end, and it excites me.

Every time I open an email and see a message from my instructor saying, “Great job,” or “You did everything that was asked of you,” I smile through the tears. That feedback is a reward. It reminds me that I’m not just surviving, I’m thriving. It reminds me that my pain has purpose, and my purpose is bigger than my past.

So if you’re reading this and struggling too, know this: You can still show up broken and be brilliant. You can be both grieving and growing. Keep going. Keep believing. We are not what we’ve been through; we are who we become because of it.

We’ve got this.

                  -Amy

What motivates me as an online learner is that it’s the perfect path because it offers flexibility a chance to learn on my own terms while still managing work, family, and life’s responsibilities. My motivation grows each time I picture myself walking across that virtual graduation stage, proving not just to the world, but to myself, that I was always capable. The fear of starting over is real, but the regret of never trying is even greater.

A little poem to remind us all

When the days grow long and the nights feel cold,
Hold tight to your dreams, let your courage unfold.
With every small step, you’re closer than before,
Your heart is your compass it’s what you’re striving for.

In the rush and the noise, find your own steady beat,
You’re stronger than struggle, unstoppable and complete.
So rise with the sunrise, let hope be your guide,
The power you seek is burning inside.

I work full-time and I'm a full-time mom as well. My husband is currently in prison for a crime he did not commit. I always wanted to further my education and learn about law. I did not think I could and still take care of my family. Post University has given me that opportunity. My children see me pushing through and know that a good education is not out of their reach as well. I want to use my education to help others who would experience a situation like we have. I want to change in our system. I can now be part of the solution and not just someone else complaining about something I can not change. I plan to continue my education after I graduate. I want to take some criminal justice classes and then also attend law school, pass the bar, and help people find Hope again. Help reform our system and restore the people's faith in a system they no longer trust. I'm so thankful to Post University for allowing me to take care of my family and still be able to further my education as well. My life is forever changed by this amazing opportunity. Post-university helped me with all the financial aid and everything. The process was simple and allowed me to focus more on classes and life. THANK YOU, POST UNIVERSITY.

What motivates me as an online learner is knowing that I’m not just going through the motions I’m building something greater. I’m showing up for my future, even when it’s hard. I’m breaking cycles, setting new standards, and proving to myself that I can do what I once thought was impossible. Online learning gives me the freedom to grow on my own terms, but more importantly, it reminds me that I’m capable of more than I imagined.

Yes, there are late nights. Yes, there are moments when I want to throw in the towel. But then I remember why I started. I remember that my steps are ordered. That this journey no matter how challenging is part of something bigger than me. I hold onto Galatians 6:9, which says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

This isn’t just about passing classes or earning a degree. This is about purpose. About unlocking doors that were once shut. About becoming who God called me to be. I’m reminded of Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

So to anyone else pushing through online learning right now: keep pressing. Even when it feels like no one sees your effort, God does. Even when the finish line feels far away, remember you’re still moving. Don’t let the weight of the process make you forget the power of your progress.

You’ve got what it takes. Not because it’s easy, but because you’re equipped. Stay faithful. Stay focused. And don’t stop until you’ve finished what God placed in your hands. The harvest is coming. 💛

Thank you Ebony L.Carver

As an online student at Post University, my motivation to study criminal law and pursue a career as a lawyer is deeply rooted in my desire for justice and advocacy. The flexibility of the online program allows me to balance my studies with work and personal commitments, which enhances my focus and dedication. Engaging with diverse perspectives through virtual discussions enriches my understanding of complex legal issues, reinforcing my commitment to defending those who cannot defend themselves.

My passion for criminal law stems from a profound belief in the importance of fairness within the legal system. I have always been fascinated by how laws shape society and protect individual rights. This interest was further ignited by experiences volunteering at local legal aid organizations where I witnessed firsthand the impact that effective legal representation can have on marginalized communities. These experiences solidified my aspiration to become a lawyer dedicated to advocating for social justice.

The rigorous curriculum at Post University equips me with critical thinking skills essential for navigating the complexities of law. Each course challenges me to analyze cases meticulously and understand various legal frameworks, preparing me for real-world applications in courtrooms. Additionally, I am motivated by the prospect of contributing positively to society; becoming a lawyer is not merely a career choice but rather a calling that aligns with my values of integrity, equity, and service. And as a firefighter in my community I am honored to serve my community and protect them from anything or anyone that can cause harm with fires or medical needs. And I am proud to be an post eagle online student!🦅🔥🧑‍🚒👨‍🚒

I can say what motivates me as an online learner and the first in my family to be accepted into a college and currently on my journey to bigger and better things in my life, as a single mom. I can say even though my son stays with his dad, I’m glad that we are co-parenting very well I may say, and I'm very appreciative of it. So I can officially say that's what motivates me as i’m on this wonderful journey of being an online learner. It keeps me on my toes. The more I learn different online skills to bettering my understanding of it, makes me excited for what's next.

My advice to everybody is, take your time, acknowledge the due date, set a time for when you need to study and get everything done, even if it’s a few weeks before, that’s fine. That gives you time to have a better understanding of everything, extra time to study, and time to turn in your assignments early. So you can have extra free time.

I suffer from Social Anxiety. I dropped out of school after 8th grade because of my anxiety; I could not function around others. I was just way too awkward. I got my GED at 15 and tried to go back to school at a local college, but I didn't make it past the 1st week. I tried two more times over the years and never made it past my first semester. Now, with this option for online, I am soaring higher than I ever thought I could. I am currently 4.0. Loving every second, even the parts I don't understand, i.e.. Thesis ugggg what in the heck is that lol I am grateful for this opportunity. I love the DB I can interact with people without fear. I am growing more confident every day. I am almost 50 years old, and I am more excited now than ever to see what my future holds.

This has helped me to be better focused on all aspects of my life and to be able to complete things as quick or as slow as I want within the week for each term. I am very grateful for the opportunity this gives me to be able to be successful, but also to be able to be a full time student while also going to work full time.

For years I've wanted to continue my education but always came up with excuses. I put the majority of my energy towards raising my kids and I've enjoyed being a bedside nurse. Lately though I've been starting to feel sort of stuck and burnt out and the desire to advance my career and do something new has become too strong to ignore. When the hospital I work at had an event with representatives from different colleges telling us about opportunities to advance our learning I took it as a sign. Online schooling has given me the flexibility to still be very present for my family throughout the week and work full time while I go to school. It's keeping me even busier, but I've been enjoying the challenge so far!

Just a bit of a back story .. at 16 I started my journey as a mother.. despite the odds being against me.. I graduated high school on time and was able to walk with a baby on my hip next to my graduating class. I took and still take my education very seriously… fast forward to now.. I have 4 bio kids and 2 bonus.. ages 19, 14, 12, 11, 2, and almost a year .. needless to say .. I put my life on hold and made all the sacrifices I had to in order to care for my babies .. I’m finally in a successful supportive relationship with the father of my last two babies. This opened up an opportunity for me to further my education. It’s the only thing in life that I have that’s just mine.. all the accomplishments made throughout my educational journey. I just graduated with my associates degree in science of legal studies.. staying on the deans list and the honors program.. school has saved my life. I mentally drowning in kids and having access to online education is the only possible way I would be able to attend .. thank you post university.. bachelor’s degree here I come !! Good luck to all my fellow classmates.. keep the momentum and motivation going #postuniversity

What motivates me the most as an online learner is my Auntie. I lost her 2 years ago to breast cancer, and beside my Grandmother she was one of my best friends. I promised her and my grandma both before they passed that I would make something of myself. Beside loving the career field that I am going into I just want to make both of them proud, and stick to my word of making something of myself. Life may be throwing me hurdles left and right, but I am determined.

Being able to set my own schedule and learn at my own pace gives me a sense of control over my education, which is very empowering. I also find it motivating to see my progress as I complete modules and receive feedback from instructors. Knowing that the skills I am developing are directly relevant to my career goals keeps me focused and determined to succeed. Additionally, I enjoy connecting with classmates from different backgrounds through online discussions and group projects, as it creates a sense of community and support. The combination of personal achievement, practical benefits, and social interaction makes online learning both rewarding and inspiring for me.

While I have added one more baby to our crew since I graduated from my undergraduate program, my biggest motivation is my kids. I want to show them they can accomplish anything. I don't just want to tell them, I want to model it and walk the walk by doing hard things myself. I have something to prove to them and myself by continuing when it's not hard, but especially when it is. My husband also motivates me by consistently supporting my goals and passions throughout the last 4 years. The Honors Program has and continues to motivate me with the support and interactions of peers and faculty. My friends I have made at Post continue to encourage and motivate me even when it's hard. Last but certainly not least, what started this whole journey was my passion to become the absolute best early childhood educator I could be. I want to be the one I wish my kids had when they needed it most. I want to be part of positive change in educational systems, especially low-funded programs. That overall passion motivates me to continue every day because every student deserves to have a teacher on their side and fighting for them and their academic success.

My motivation as an online learner is my passion to grow beyond the standards I set for myself. For years, I felt as if I was lost because everyone else found their one thing, their one passion and went with it. I, on the other hand, had multiple passions and had a strong desire to pursue every one of them. It wasn't until I inquired about Post University and began classes that I started to feel like my dreams were not unattainable, they just needed organization, details, and room for growth. With the help of my advisor and other staff members, I realized my passion is in entrepreneurship and business. It's an avenue that no one in my family has truly embarked on and I have every intention of doing so. I want to push through because I want to encourage my son and my siblings that a career is whatever you choose for it to be. Not what your parents, society, or anyone else tells you it SHOULD be.

As an online student, what motivates me most is the ability to take ownership of my learning and shape my education around my personal goals. The flexibility of online learning has allowed me to grow both academically and personally, while staying connected to a supportive and inspiring community.

One of the greatest sources of motivation has been the amazing friends I’ve made along the way. Even in a virtual environment, the relationships I’ve built with classmates have been meaningful and uplifting. We encourage each other, share challenges and successes, and celebrate our progress together. That sense of community keeps me going, especially during tough weeks.

Being part of the honors program during my undergraduate studies also gave me a strong foundation and drive to keep striving for excellence. It pushed me to think critically, challenge myself, and stay committed to high standards. Now, in my master’s program, that same motivation carries over. I’m excited to deepen my knowledge and continue growing in a field I’m passionate about.

Ultimately, every step I take in this journey reminds me of how far I’ve come—and how much more I can achieve.

What Motivates Me as an Online Learner

The motivation behind my pursuit of online learning is deeply rooted in a desire for personal growth, professional development, and lifelong learning. As a retired professional from the satellite and broadcasting industry, I bring decades of experience and practical knowledge to the virtual classroom. However, I recognize that in today’s fast-evolving world, continuous learning is essential—not only to remain relevant but also to contribute meaningfully in new roles, such as becoming an online instructor at the college level.

Online learning offers the flexibility that aligns with my current lifestyle. It allows me to manage my time effectively while engaging in rigorous academic pursuits at Post University. This flexibility is one of the key motivators for adult learners .The ability to learn at my own pace and within my own environment empowers me to maintain a balance between academic responsibilities and personal commitments.

Another motivator is the relevance and applicability of the MBA in Leadership program. The coursework supports my goal of teaching leadership and management principles online. This kind of intrinsic motivation—where the learner is driven by internal goals rather than external pressures—is often linked to greater academic success and satisfaction (Deci & Ryan, 2000).

Furthermore, I am driven by a sense of legacy. After retiring from a successful career, I view education not just as self-improvement but as a means to give back. Sharing knowledge and mentoring future professionals is a profound motivation that keeps me engaged in my studies. As I aim to become an online instructor, I see each assignment and discussion post not just as academic tasks, but as training for my future role.

Tariq Bhatty

MBA Student

Vice President COSE

Assistant Advisor EMH Club

Post University

When I became a mother last year my daughter has been my inspiration and my motivation to reach my goals on becoming a psychologist. I work hard I have determined to achieve and accomplish all my goals and do all my school work. The reason why I chose Post I seen so many commercials where I live at around the time I graduated from high school and I thought to myself this will be a great college to attend. I wanted to be home and work and it was the greatest decision and opportunity ever. When I started post it is so many amazing professors, worker at post that care about you and your dreams and goal. They are determined to help you meet, achieve and accomplish each and every one of them. If I had to choose another online college again I would choose post. They are very professional, it’s work at your own pace and you do not have to rush and they understand if you going through something at home and they work with you to get things done.

My family and my boyfriend keeps me motivated and keeps me going when I feel like giving up at times. I chose Post University because I can do it at my own pace and I can do it from my home. I love Post University because I can do my college classes at home and I don't have to do all my work at once.My kids especially keep me motivated and keep me going because I want to prove to them that when you want something so hard, as long as you work hard and push yourself to the limits you can do anything you want to do. I'm not just earning a degree for myself, but I'm showing my kids determination and setting our life up for success. My family always reminds me that everything is not easy, but reminds me why I'm doing this and reminds me of my goals and how I can set up my future for success.

My son and wanting to achieve my goals. I was enrolled into Post University’s online program for my A.S in Accounting, just 2 months before my son was going to come into this world. Ever since he’s been born, I’ve been more motivated in completing my assignments on time and saving money. I hope to eventually get a hire paying job than just working at McDonald’s. Being a first time mom has been an amazing and different experience and I love it. Seeing him grow so fast has brought so much joy to not just me but my whole family.

What motivates me most is the joy of witnessing how children learn, grow, and develop in their own unique ways. I find fulfillment in being part of that journey—guiding and supporting them as they reach important developmental milestones. Growing up in a large family, I was deeply involved in the lives of my younger siblings and neighborhood children. This hands-on experience shaped my understanding and appreciation for the many ways children develop, and it sparked my passion for early childhood education.

One story that’s always stayed with me was told by my grandmother, who lovingly took on the role of a mother to me and my siblings. Every year on the first day of school, she would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. My answer never changed—I always said I wanted to be a foster care provider like her, to give children the love, care, and security they needed. I also admired my great aunt, who ran her own daycare center. These strong women in my life showed me the power of nurturing and educating children.

Because of these early influences, I’ve always known that I wanted to pursue a career where I could support, teach, and inspire young children—whether as a daycare provider, a headteacher, or someday by opening a center of my own. I’m committed to making a meaningful impact in their lives every single day.

I have anxiety about public places and going to school online has relieved me of that anxiety of attending classes in a pubic university.

Thank You Post University for making my education more fun and exciting.

Hello Everyone,

Online education has transformed the way we approach learning, offering flexibility, convenience, and access to a world of knowledge without the constraints of traditional classroom schedules. Enrolling at Post University as an online learner has enriched my academic journey, empowering me to balance personal responsibilities, career goals, and lifelong learning. In this paper, I will discuss the key factors that motivate me to excel in this environment and how this motivation shapes my academic and professional aspirations.

Flexibility and Control Over My Schedule

One of the most compelling reasons I choose online learning at Post University is a flexible schedule it offers. Advanced Learning Management systems, interactive multimedia, and easy access to digital libraries create and immersive environment that piques my curiosity and encourages active engagement. By harnessing these technological skills, I feel better equipped to understand complex subjects and develop critical thinking skills, which in turn fuel my passion for continuous learning.

Commitment to lifelong learning finally, my experience as an online learner at Post University has instilled in me the value of lifelong learning. Overcoming addiction and achieving sobriety has been one of the hardest and most rewarding challenges of my life.
What motivates me as an online student at Post University is the deep sense of purpose I carry every single day. I’m not just doing this for myself—I’m doing it for my two young adult children and my 3-year-old granddaughter who look up to me and count on me. The diversity here is beautiful—people from all walks of life work, teach, and learn together. That matters to me. It creates a space where I feel seen and valued. Every professor I’ve encountered has been incredibly supportive. They don’t just teach—they take the time to make sure I understand, to guide me, and to help me grow. That kind of dedication means everything.

What I love most about Post is the community. It’s not just a school—it’s a network of people who uplift each other. I feel empowered here.

HELLO EAGLES! Being an online student calls for a different level of self-discipline and focus. What keeps me motivated is the memory of my parents. Knowing that they never received a formal education and wanted that for me encourages me to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. Other days, I want to prove to myself that I CAN. I desire a better life, and obtaining a degree is only part of the puzzle. I hold dear to the quote from Steven Covey "begin with the end in mind". I have a vision board for graduation, and I am going to do everything in my power to get there.

I chose Post because they made it personal from the very beginning, just like the motto says. It is more than words; I found a supportive community. I love several things about this school: the Mascot, the school colors, the Professors, the administrative team support and interaction, and the classmates who have become friends.

Developing a growth mindset would help me keep motivated because I will feel good about things and feel accomplished which I think from experience keeps me going and motivated. Just knowing that feeling of accomplishment to me is enought to keep pushing. It's almost like when u feel good about proving someone wrong, either its a disagreement or in my own experience it would be that feeling of proving to people I can change my ways and better myself since I am a recovering addict, and I am not thay person they once knew or had to experience how I was back when I was in active addiction from drugs and alcohol.

I have been clean and sober for some time now and I know that feeling of accomplishment because I accomplished getting away from all of that and that life style and get my GED and now I'm in college. And let me tell you it makes me feel better bout my self more than any drug could!

Being a role model for my kids and granddaughter. Wanting to better myself even more, so I can give us a better life. Opening my own business so I can leave something for my kids when I'm no longer with them. Which my kids seem to think I'm going to live forever. Opening my own business has always been my dream. And I have a lot of experience in so many fields that I can open any kind of business. I was a medical biller for over 15+ years, I can open a medical billing business. I can open a private school, I was a teacher aid for 2 years. I was a medical assistant, receptionist, transcriptionist, dental assistant. So I can also open up a school for that. I can open up my own nail shop, I was doing acrylic nails for about 4 years before all the medical field jobs. I can also open a school for phlebotomy, my last job which is where I got injured was as a phlebotomist, so I can open a school for that to. Even to be an LMRT. A lot of people tell me I should open my own restaurant since I love to cook and bake. So there is more than one door that has been opened for me by my going back to school to get my bachelors degree in Business Administration and Criminal Justice. I enjoy learning new things so after I finish this journey, I might just go to cosmetology school to open a nail shop to make extra money. The good thing is that I have a lots of patients and I love learning.

What motivates me as an online student in Early Childhood Education is my deep passion for helping young children grow, learn, and feel supported during their most important developmental years. I’ve always had a natural connection with children, and after spending time helping in daycare settings and caring for younger relatives, I realized how much of a difference a caring and knowledgeable adult can make in a child’s life.

Pursuing this degree online allows me to stay focused on my goals while balancing other responsibilities. I’m inspired by the thought of one day creating a safe, welcoming classroom where children feel encouraged to explore, express themselves, and develop a love for learning.

My long-term goal is to become a certified early childhood educator and eventually open my own learning center. I want to create a space that not only supports early learning but also provides a strong foundation for families in the community. The knowledge and skills I’m gaining now are preparing me to lead with confidence, compassion, and purpose. That vision is what keeps me motivated every step of the way.

What motivates me as an PMHNP student at American Sentinel University School of Nursing at Post University, is my family, especially my granddaughter. Thinking of my future and the impact that my education and career will positively have on my family keeps me going. What I appreciate about post is the staff's encouragement regarding school/personal life balance. As a nurse with over 20 years in this profession, I felt the need to return to school to pursue a Master's degree. My former student advisor, January Cornish, was so patient with me and guided me towards the right path that was best for me. My current student advisor, Nicole Tuthill, has been an amazing support system, a tremendous advocate and my cheerleader. She will never know what her support means to me. She is always available to me when I need advice. Post University is lucky to have her as a representative of the institution.

As a veteran of the US Army, I am taking advantage of the Eagle program. This program helps me with tuition costs and textbooks. I am so grateful for this program.

My inspiration and the motivating factor for me to further my education and better myself daily starts with gratitude for all of the things I am blessed with today.

I have had a very rough time in life for a very long time. I am 47, homeless, have sight impairment and a traumatic brain injury and am a survivor of domestic violence.

I decided one day that I would not allow someone to devalue who I am or what I can accomplish. When we are abused and outcast from society it can be hard to remember that we are worth our dreams. It can be almost impossible to remember that you are not less than just because someone didn't see your value. After thinking for a moment, I made a decision. It occurred to me that if I allowed these people to ruin my life, they would win. They do not deserve to dampen my spirit or put out the fires of my passions.

I started small with a certificate. Now I am getting ready to start on a bachelor's.

It has not been easy to learn or do homework. I wonder every day where I will be that night. Sometimes accessing power proves to be impossible. Some how I have managed to complete my assignments and maintain As and Bs.

It is better to have a late start in life than to never pursue your dreams.

I am investing in myself now.

Hello Post Family,

What motivates me as an online student at Post University is the flexibility it offers. I love that I can work at my own pace without the pressure of logging into live virtual classes multiple times a week. This setup allows me to manage my time wisely and truly focus on the quality of my work without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

Why did I choose Post? The answer is simple: the academic excellence and strong Psychology degree program spoke directly to my educational goals. On top of that, Post made my transition seamless by accepting all of my transfer credits, no hassle, no stress, just full support.

What do I love about Post? I love the intentional care and support for online students. My advisor calls me every week just to check in, encourage me, and make sure I have access to any academic resources I may need. That kind of personal touch makes all the difference and reminds me that I’m not in this alone.

What keeps me going? A promise I made to myself when I entered my fabulous 50s, I committed to finishing what I started and getting my degree. I refused to let excuses or delays stand in my way. I became my own cheerleader, and let me tell you, it’s been one of the most empowering things I’ve ever done! I celebrate every term completed because it means I’m that much closer to the finish line.

Even in those challenging moments, I remind myself: “You got this. Take a deep breath and tackle it one assignment at a time.” My graduation date is August 2026, and I see it clear as day. I believe in myself, I’m proud of my journey, and yes, I’m shouting it out now: “YOU GO GIRL!”

I'm doing this for ME… and I LOVE IT.

Let’s keep going, Eagles! 🦅💜

Twanita

The first day we spoke, she was positive and seemed genuinely interested in my life and opinions. She spent 3 hours on the phone with me talking about school and my Dogs. I have a love for my 2 fur babies that I cannot compare to any other love I have ever felt! She had no clue if I would get financial Aid and choose Post University, yet she still made me feel like she genuinely cared. I can still text her anytime, and she will get back to me one way or another and refocus my mental health or worries. I love both my first two teachers and classes. I will not lie, though, I am only in week 4 and terrified that I have a midterm or final every month for the next 4 years. That is a lot of pressure for a perfectionist. I am self-taught by YouTube University on how to make products for my three soon-to-be four businesses. The only piece I am missing is how to market to the entire USA and eventually the world. I have built two websites I hated, and my social media marketing never goes as far as I expect. When I sell my items at flea markets or to people I meet out and about, I have a 90% return rate, which is very high.

When I started in the Fall of 24, I wanted to learn more about horses and my love for them. I could work with horses and with like-minded people who love horses too. The BA in Equine Studies piqued my interest, and I wanted to learn more. So I enrolled online to get my degree started. Being out of school for almost 38 years, I wondered, can I do this? I talked to Post University because I wanted to be in their program online, and I was accepted into the Equine Studies program. I was in a win-win situation for getting my life on track. Online Learning has made me confident in many class achievements. I discovered that I was brilliant and could learn all kinds of subjects. I am in their Honors program and enjoying each class I have had or am in now. I like all my teachers and the friendly staff here at Post. They keep me motivated and keep me thinking, too. We all have a story to tell, and those life experiences motivate someone to learn online. My family is my biggest supporter. They fuel my learning and my success in this school. No matter your age, you can always learn something new and achieve your goals. Horses have always been the love of my life; they also made me go back to school and learn something new. I am Proud to be a Post Eagle.

My drive to pursue higher education stems from the very values I’ve instilled in my children. With a daughter about to graduate from law school and a son preparing to enter college, I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of knowledge and perseverance. For years, I’ve encouraged them to strive for excellence, embrace learning, and build a future rooted in purpose. Now, I’ve decided it’s time to follow my own advice—not just as a parent and mentor, but as a lifelong learner. Their dedication and achievements have reignited my passion to grow, evolve, and challenge myself professionally and personally.

Post University has been great about making it personal. For decades, I have made excuses not to graduate with a degree. I built a great career and learned a lot, but there was a void in my life, knowing that I never finished what I started in scholastics. Professor Koshes, Dr. L., and Professor R. Martin, to name a few, have provided me with true insight to be more effective in researching relevant subject matter to support my ideas with facts. Going back to school seemed scary since I had procrastinated for so long. For students contemplating whether or not to further their education, Post will make you feel comfortable without allowing you to slack. I look forward to more in-depth discussions and involvement with the Honors program. My first experience in the meeting was enlightening. I was inspired by the testimonies of students trying to manage their time at school, with children, and at work. Thanks to the entire student body for giving me valuable feedback on the DBs.

The purple screen glowed with a question that made me pause:

"What motivates you as an online student at Post? Why did you choose Post? What do you love about Post? What makes you want to keep going?"

I am known as "Chris" to her classmates and professors—took a deep breath. These weren’t just questions. They were reflections of her journey.

My motivation? It was rooted in my own past and aimed at the future. As I am working toward her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Entrepreneurship with a minor in Marketing—not just for myself, but to show my children and grandchildren that you are the only one who can change your future, regardless of your past.

The reason why I, chose Post University because it offered more than flexibility—it offered belief. A belief that no matter your age, your background, or your setbacks, your dreams still matter.

What do I love about Post? The support. The encouragement. The way my professors call me “Chris” like they’d known her for years. The way her classmates cheered her on, even from miles away.

And what keeps me going? The fire inside her. The promise I made to myself long ago. The desire to prove that dreams are meant to come true—and that even if life has grounded you, you can still reach for the stars.

So I kept climbing, one class, one challenge, one dream at a time.

Thanks,

Chris🤠

My kids and my granddaughter motivate me to continue my education. I want them to be proud of me for more then just being a mom, nurse, guidence counselor at times. I want them to know that if mom can do it at 51 so can they no matter what age you are. Why I chose Post? Well honestly I don't know. I was applying at different online schools and Post just caught my attention and it was so easy to apply and the people I had spoken with were so kind and understandin

What motivates me as an online student at Post University is the opportunity to turn my life experiences into purpose. I've overcome many personal obstacles, including the loss of both my parents, and those experiences have taught me the value of strength, perseverance, and education. I’m determined to succeed—not just for myself, but to inspire and support others, especially children, through my chosen field of Early Childhood Education.

I chose Post University because it offers the flexibility I need to balance education with my personal responsibilities. The support from faculty, engaging online platform, and career-focused programs made Post feel like the right place to pursue my goals. I wanted a university that values personal growth and academic excellence and Post delivers that.

Being part of the Honors Program has motivated me even more. It pushes me to think critically, go beyond surface-level learning, and challenge myself academically. It’s not just about earning a degree—it’s about becoming the best version of myself, both intellectually and personally. I’m proud to be part of a university that believes in me and gives me the tools to grow.

Hello everyone, my motivation comes from my mom, I lost her 4 years ago on my Grandsin Birthday. She has always push all of us to do great things in life. Always stand up for yourself and the right thing. When I finished high-school I thought about joining the Marine Corp, but changed my mind. I have face many challenges since starting college. I almost lost my baby son last year, the same day I started school, I also started back working. When my son was sick, I traveled many days to the point it put me in the hospital. Besides my mom and kids, I try to motivate myself. You can do whatever you put your mind to. Never give up on your dreams or anything. It might take you a little time, but the journey isn't over. I haven't been in school in about 30 years, but one thing about it, you're never to old or young to learn. The instructor's keep me motivated, I can say I have had a good experience with most of them. So put your eyes on the prize and keep pushing forward when it seem like you just can't take it anymore, pray for strength and he will guide you forward in the right direction. Keep yourself motivated, and I assure you things will keep going forward in the journey of a lifetime.

                                           Cecilia Rush

I am a full-time mom to two cute little girls, Virginia and Betty, ages 5 and 3. I am also a preschool teacher at an adorable little private school in my town. I've worked in childcare for many years... but in 2024, I started teaching the preschool class where I am now, and I felt very inadequate as a teacher last year. All the other teachers (K-3rd grade) have this sense of professionalism and confidence that I could not match. I felt that I was just "playing teacher" all day. Then I realized... I am the only teacher there without an education. Each day, I felt like I was totally "winging it" and hadn't a clue what I was supposed to do with these kids and this curriculum. Thank you, Post.

Today, I reminded myself it's not starting over, I'm picking up where I left off. And this time, I'm returning stronger, wiser, and with a heart that finally knows how much I matter. For so long, I've put others first. Family needs, responsibilities, and the weight of being the strong one all took priority over me. I let my dreams sit in the background while I showed up for everyone else. I still want to finish my degree, not just for the accomplishment, but to prove to myself that I can do hard things and see them through. I owe it to the younger me who was so close, the version of me who shut down when life got overwhelming. I want to make my mom proud. She's not here to see it, but I feel her in everything I do. Getting this degree is a tribute to her, her belief in me, and the love that still guides me. More than anything, I want to show myself that I can finish. That I don't have to give up when things get hard. I can hold space for my dreams, which are just as valid as anyone else's. This isn't about perfection. It's about completion. It's about reclaiming my voice, my power, and my purpose. And I promise myself this time I will not quit!

As a dedicated mother of seven children, I have always put their needs first, ensuring they have the support and care they deserve. My husband, my rock and partner in every sense, has been instrumental in encouraging me to pursue my academic goals, even when it meant juggling multiple responsibilities.

The Power of Flexibility

The flexibility of online learning has been a game-changer for me. I can attend virtual classes, complete assignments, and engage with course materials at times that fit my schedule, whether that's during naptime, after the kids are in bed, or during my lunch break. This autonomy has enabled me to manage my time effectively, prioritize tasks, and make steady progress toward my degree.

Setting a Positive Example

What motivates me most is the prospect of setting a positive example for my children. By pursuing higher education and working towards my career goals, I hope to show them the value of hard work, determination, and lifelong learning. My husband's unwavering support and encouragement mean the world to me, and together, we are creating a brighter future for our family.

A Supportive Online Community

Post University's online community has become an essential part of my academic journey.

What motivates me most is my children. I started my career as a Registered Nurse at the age of 20. I went to college right after high school and could not wait to start my career and be able to help so many people. in 2006 I became ill and none of the doctors or specialists could figure out what was wrong. Ten years later, on the brink of death, I happened to be sick in the right place. Long story short, I was diagnosed with Addison's Disease, an adrenal gland insufficiency, and had to give up my passion, my nursing career. I tried so many things, and due to illness, I could not work and provide for my family. I was about to throw in the towel and give in to disability when I received a phone call from Post. That was a phone call that changed my life! I cannot remember her name, which really bothers me, but foggy memory is a side effect I have learned to deal with. She helped me realize that I could turn something I love into a career. Maybe I could not be a nurse anymore, but I could take that passion and turn it into a reality. Learning is a passion of mine also, so I took a chance and entered the criminal justice program to become a crime scene investigator. During the time I was unable to work, I was able to throw myself into my studies. I struggle at times, but then I will make a one hundred on my paper and it motivates me to keep trying because it is going to pay off. My daughter cheers me on and tells me not to give up and has even let me place her in the middle of my "crime scenes". Getting an invitation to the Honors Program was also very motivating. It made me feel like someone noticed my hard work. Last term I received a 100 in one class and a 99.8 in the other. Each week when I checked my grade and saw that I had made a one hundred on my paper, it made me push harder to make sure that I kept that grade. I have never ended a course with a perfect grade before, and I must say it was a very big motivator for me. Another motivation is knowing that I am not in this alone. Even though I am taking classes at my own home, my advisor or instructor is just a phone call or email away, and always eager to assist. I love seeing other students succeed and achieve their dreams. Whenever I enter a new course and see a familiar name in the introductions it makes me smile. It makes me feel like I am really in class learning with other real-life people that are fulfilling their dreams as well, and that is what motivates me. I am looking forward to graduation where maybe I can meet the people I have spent so much time with over these years.

What keeps me going is the fire inside me—a quiet, steady flame fueled by hope, dreams, and the belief that I deserve a future filled with purpose.

After everything I have lived through, school is not just about earning a degree.

What motivates me as an online student at Post University is simple: I’m here to grow, speak up, and make a difference, not just for myself, but for the people and causes I care about.

I went back to school at 60, not because I had to, but because I wanted to. I’ve spent years working, raising a family, and paying attention to the world around me. Now it’s my time to sharpen my knowledge and use it with purpose. Education gives me the tools to understand how systems work, from business and law to economics and policy, and that allows me to question things, speak up, and advocate for real change.

I’ve always been someone who cares deeply about people, especially those who are struggling or being left behind. Whether it's watching the government freeze funding for programs our communities need or seeing people misled by headlines and distractions, I want to know what’s really going on. Learning helps me cut through the noise and get to the truth.

On a personal level, I’m also doing this for my family. I want my son and grandson to see that growth never stops. That no matter your age or situation, you can always choose a new path. This journey is about showing them and myself that it’s never too late to rise.

So, what motivates me? Living with purpose. Gaining the knowledge to speak out. And proving that I can still create impact, in my own way, every single day.

What motivates me as an online student at Post University?

To be honest, what motivates me most is the freedom of being able to do my schoolwork anytime, whether that’s bright and early before my first coffee or at midnight while wearing fuzzy socks and a face mask. Having 24/7 access to resources and the comforting knowledge that if I get stuck, there’s help around the internet of nets corner (or at least one Teams click away) makes me feel supported and capable. Also, I’m determined to earn my degree with Honors, because why not go all in? The level of guidance and support of my professors (who are basically my academic fairy godparents), I know I can make it happen.

Why did I choose Post?

OK, let me fill you in about myself. I’m not from this country, I am proud to say I am Brazilian/Italian born in Peru, however, I landed in Baltimore back in 1998 and now I am an ATL Peach who has traded crab cakes for peach cobbler. 🦀🍑 I’ve always believed that many Up North schools bring a certain energy and quality to education that fits my vibe. Post offered the exact degree I wanted faster, because patience is not my strongest virtue, and every single person I talked to on the staff was genuinely kind and helpful. It just felt like a place that would see me grow, learn and achieve goals as a real person, not just a student ID number.

What do I love about Post?

The Financial Aid and Education Advising teams deserve their own reality TV show. 🎬 Because they’ve been lifesavers, cheerleaders, and occasional therapists when I needed help figuring out how to afford school and plan my academic journey. I like how I can reach out with any question, big or small, and get real answers without feeling like I’m bothering anyone.

What makes me want to keep going?

The drive in me is like a shooting star, focused and ready to take on any obstacle. I’m locked onto success, and there’s no turning back. I can almost see that moment when I have my degree handed (2027) and I have the power to change not just my life but the lives of others. I want to make an impact in companies, communities, and maybe even start a business of my own (coming soon - my empire 👑). Everyone says, “the sky's the limit,” but honestly, we're selling ourselves short. However, the universe/opportunities to learn and grow are limitless; the only ceilings and blocks we hit are the ones we build ourselves. So, I’m here, pumped and determined, because I must prove myself and inspire others, that no matter how old we are (40th club joining soon, est 7/20/1985), we can still chase our dreams and become greater than ever. I am ready to be the best version of myself, and then some.

~G.Ghersi~

What motivates me as an online student at Post University is the feeling of finally walking in my purpose. At 50 years old, with two grown sons in their early 30s, I decided to go back to school, not because I had to, but because I wanted to. I wanted to prove to myself, to my children, and to the younger generation watching that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Life doesn’t come with a timeline for success, and if you’re willing to put in the work, amazing things can happen.

Growing up, people naturally gravitated toward me for advice, comfort, and emotional support, even strangers. I used to brush it off as just “being a good listener,” but deep down, I always felt a calling to do something more with it. Choosing to pursue counseling and mental health as a career finally feels like the right path, and Post University has been the perfect partner in that journey.

I chose Post because from the first phone call, I felt seen, heard, and supported. They didn’t just treat me like another enrollment number; they treated me like a person with a story, with goals, and with value. As an online student, flexibility was crucial, but it was the community and encouragement I received that sealed the deal.

What I love most about Post is the support system. The professors are engaged, the advisors genuinely care, and there’s a strong sense of belonging even from behind a screen. Being named to the President’s List twice and the Dean’s List once in my first year reminded me that hard work pays off, no matter your age. Being a part of the Honors group has only pushed me further to keep striving.

What keeps me going is simple: I want to leave a legacy not just for my kids, but for anyone who has ever doubted themselves because they thought it was “too late.” I want people to know that with heart, discipline, and faith, you can rewrite your story. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited for where I’m headed..

I finished my bachelor's degree in PR in 2015, and some of my classes were in person, and some were online. Being an online student is an excellent advantage since everybody has the chance to work and manage their daily schedule. I am a mother of three, and I can schedule the study based on my priority list. I finished the ECE social degree in 2022. I have been pursuing a master's degree in education since 2024, and it's been a wonderful experience and challenge. However, the classes worst it and I am a proudly 4.00 GPA student.

My 8-year-old daughter is the driving force behind my decision to pursue my education online and is the light that guides me through every moment. Whenever I see her curiosity, determination, and joy in learning, I’m reminded of the importance of setting a strong example. I want her to grow up knowing that no dream is too big, that perseverance can overcome any obstacle, and that no matter where you are in life, it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Her curiosity, kindness, and belief in me fuel my determination to keep going, even when it’s hard. Every assignment I complete, every late night I push through, I do it with her in mind. Attending school online allows me to balance my parental responsibilities while still investing in my future—and ultimately, hers. She inspires me to keep going, even on the toughest days, because I want to show her that growth and learning never stop.

I initially chose Post University because of the flexibility it offers. Learning on my schedule made it possible to pursue my education without sacrificing time with my daughter. But as I’ve continued my journey, I’ve discovered that Post offers more than convenience. From the incredibly friendly and supportive faculty and engaging coursework to the sense of community and encouragement I’ve received, it’s become more than just a school—it’s a place where I feel empowered to grow and succeed. And it is very clear that this is what Post University also wants to see. What started as a practical decision has turned into a profoundly fulfilling experience.

What motivates me is my beautiful children. They deserve the best version of their parent. I want to elevate in my career and earn better pay. In turn, I want to put them into better schools and afford them better educational opportunities. Thanks :)! I love Post University <3 because of the online connectivity community. There is constant web video meetings where you can interact with other students, alumni, advisors, and even the leader of your school department. I actually saw the dean of the School of Education and Public Service (I was too psyched, this was cool :)!!) I saw his face clearly on video and he spoke with me one on one. It was just surreal like I was meeting a celebrity. This shows me how much Post University cares about their online students, showing hospitality over long distances <3 <3.

What motivates me as an online psychology student at Post University is my deep desire to understand the human mind and to help others heal, grow, and thrive. Psychology isn’t just a career path for me—it’s a calling. I’ve seen firsthand how mental and emotional challenges can affect individuals and families, and I want to be someone who makes a real difference in people’s lives.

The flexibility of online learning allows me to pursue this dream while managing other responsibilities in my life. Every course, every discussion, and every assignment brings me closer to becoming the compassionate, knowledgeable, and empowered psychologist I strive to be. My motivation is rooted in purpose, service, and the belief that healing begins with understanding.

What truly motivates me to be an online student at Post University is my daughter, Chelsie. From the moment she came into this world, everything changed—I had someone watching me, depending on me, learning from me. I want her to grow up knowing that no matter where you start or what life throws at you, you can rise above it. You can go after something better.

Life’s thrown its fair share of curveballs my way. I’ve had to be tough, resourceful, and resilient—but now I’m choosing to be educated, too. I’m not just doing this for me—I’m doing it for us. I want a career that lights me up and gives us stability. I want to show her what strength looks like when it’s backed by determination, not just survival.

Online classes give me the power to keep moving forward without missing the moments that matter most..Honors Day, Friday night football games, school related activities and etc. I’m proving to myself (and Chelsie) that growth doesn’t always happen in a classroom… sometimes, it happens on the couch at 1 a.m. with a laptop and a dream. Thanks Post for this wonderful opportunity.

What motivates me is the little girl inside of me, who always wanted a better life, and always wanted to show off her creative abilities and talents too many people around the world. I am easily inspired by seeing other people who come from where I come from, or look like me, make it out to be very successful in any career field that they choose. I am inspired by the heart effort my mother put in to provide for us my whole life. She truly is my rock and my best friend and I just want to give her back all she gave me. See what goes on in my local communities definitely pushes me to strive for more because I know that I am not only aiming to succeed for myself but I’m also aiming to succeed for others all around me no matter the background or their income status. I believe God gave me that gift of empathy and being able to relate to so many demographics, which later on taught me to be cultural amongst others, because at the end of the day, we are all human. When I wake up in the morning, I think God, because overall, he gives me the most high motivation that no one on this earth can probably ever give me in once I learned that I had to be still in create a personal relationship with him, my vision of life sort of changed. He has allowed me to be more appreciative and understand that I am running my own marathon so without him, I would not have this much motivation. I do it for the young black girl coming up in poverty, and I do it for many others, who went through so many struggles, and I know that the life that, I struggled in before I’m not going back to that I have to make it and whatever I do because there’s no other option but to try and keep going because if you don’t try it off it won’t happen at all and I truly believe and I know that I am going to be successful, and I manifest that every day and I speak positive affirmations over myself. Motivation is one thing but discipline is another and that is very important so keep striving and keep going is my mentality.

I am an older adult that decided to go back to school and go after something that I have always wanted to do is get my Human Services degree. I never thought that I would be doing as well as I am specially being an older adult, it has taken me some time to get use to the different programs that we have had to use but with some practice I have been able to do it. I have made honors and that has made me feel so proud of myself. It also helps when your family is totally supportive of you. Doing online classes is so much easier for me because I can do it at my own pace and if I have problems I can look things up for myself and usually get a better understanding of things. I am so glad I was given the opportunity to be enrolled in Post and given the chance to follow my dream. I can't say that it has always been easy but that struggle has always been a learning process and I will make it and get my bachelors within the next year.

Losing my mom and becoming an amputee motivated me to go back to school. My family has motivated me as well. I worked in the medical field for over 30 years but chose to go into the field of psychology. I love to listen to others and what they have endured in life. Ultimately, I want to go into the field of addiction. So many people are losing their lives to addiction. Especially the younger generation. One day I hope to make a change in the world of addiction. Knowing what I want to do in this world also motivates me to continue with online classes at Post University.

Thank you,

Catina Roberts

What motivates me the most is my four children, especially my youngest, who will be four in October this year. He is Autistic, level 3 non-verbal. I am doing this for him to provide the absolute best care possible for him and the rest of my kids. I am his only advocate, and he inspires me every single day. I couldn't have asked for a better college than Post University, but I'm thankful I was referred by a friend this past spring.

What motivates me the most is the desire to improve my life. I’ve been through a lot and I know I can’t give up now. Post seemed like the perfect school for me because they allow me to complete my work at the times that suit me best. I don’t feel stressed with the way Post is organized. I selected this course primarily due to the flexibility it offers in scheduling. This allows me to pick class times that fit seamlessly into my busy life, making it easier to balance my studies with other commitments. I appreciate how that post allows me to work on my schedule, whenever it suits me best. The key to my motivation as I move forward lies in the progress I’ve made in my classes. I have consistently impressed myself with my performance and the depth of my understanding. Each achievement not only boosts my confidence but also fuels my desire to continue striving for excellence in my studies.

Sincerely,

Christapher Giroux
