What is happiness?(ft. The little Prince)

In my unprofessional opinion, one obtains happiness when they find something they love. You can't see what makes you happy with your eyes, you see it with your heart. The fox from the little prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, said ," It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”I strongly agree with this statement because your eyes are used to rate/value things that don't matter while your heart see what is important. The little prince is a great book to read at any age that teaches lessons that everyone needs.

Happiness can be easily attained, but in many ways it can also be taken away. This website shows ten every day routines that can take away happiness. One routine the website shared was,"paying attention to other peoples lives instead of your own." If you pay attention to another persons life it give you a feeling of jealousy or can make you envious. Sometimes that feeling can motivate but other time that feeling can bring you down. In the end your perception is the key to happiness.

Synthesis Between "The Pursuit of Happiness" and "The Great Gatsby.

Chris Gardner was a man who went from basically homeless to now having a net worth of 60 million. He is the protagonist of the movie "The pursuit of happiness". The movie is about a man was who was a single dad, jobless, almost homeless who sought out to find a job in order to support his son. At first he was trying to sell his own inventions to hospitals, but he later was offered an internship as a stock broker. This internship changed his life and now he is worth 60 million. Both Chris Gardner and Jay Gatsby are both people who started off as poor but worked hard to become successful and rich. One trait they both had in common was using their poor financial situation as motivation to change their lives and become successful.

What is more important, happiness or success?

In my opinion if you are happy I think that itself is the most success one can have. If you become successful and are not happy is that true success? to me there's no point to being successful if you are not happy. For example, If you work hard everyday and earn money you could be considered successful by other people but if your not happy you could not consider you yourself successful. So in conclusion, I believe finding your true happiness is more important than achieving success, unless your success makes you happy. A good quote I found that also influenced my opinion is:"Happiness is the only answer there is because success is something that should only come when you are doing what you love, not the other way around.

To me, happiness is intangible. Happiness can be found through tangible things like friends money and different objects. Happiness is a state of mind when a person is feeling their best. So even though happiness is an intangible thing, You can find/obtain it through many tangibe things.

People obtain happiness in ways that are unique and special to them. Some find happiness through music, others through sports, and many find it in family. At the end of the day, happiness is different for every person and it is what the person wants it to be based off of their individuality.
