         <description><![CDATA[<p>Phonology is important for English Language Learners because it helps them recognize and differentiate the sounds of English which is essential for students to speak, read and write. ELL's may struggle with adapting to phonemes or phonemic awareness which may impact the students fluency and understanding of the language. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1) Sing it: Students can sing, move and dance to a phonics song which can help them memorize in what they are learning. </p><p>Differentiate: Beginners will learn each letter the sounds the alphabet makes. </p><p>2)Rhyming Activities: In small groups or large groups, have students repeat words after you. For example, sit/bit. </p><p>Differentiate: Look at the last syllabale of the word, ask students if the letters match and do they sound the same. </p><p>3)Sound Chain: Give students a key sound and have each student find a new word in which makes the same sound. </p><p>Differentiate: Let students repeat previous words before coming up their own. </p><p>4)I Spy: In a group, look around the room, choose an object and separate the syllables. For example, I spy with my little eyes a ta-ble" </p><p>Differentiate: Give students visuals with the word written as a references in what we will be finding in the classroom.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>With the help of Morphology, students can develop vocabulary, reading comprehension and are able to decode words. With the learning of phonology and the prefix, suffix and root words, ELL are able to learn and infold the meaning of new vocabulary. Morphology can also increase their learning in grammar and writing. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1)Word Building: Students will use root words and affixes to create a new word.</p><p>Beginners:  Match letters and words with cards </p><p>2)Sorting Game: Students will sort out words by using -ing and -ed </p><p>Differentiate: Students who may not be at the level can start off with visuals and sounds the letters make. For students who are advanced can explain the meaning of the word. </p><p>3)Big Suffix Sort: In small groups, students will be provided with word flash cards and a word bank. Students will then place the word to a two suffix word and explain why. </p><p>Differentiate: Include a word bank for words to be either a noun or adjective. </p><p>4)Rock Paper Race: Divide students in teams, lay the cards out and one student from each group will pick a card up and if they have the same card they will have to rock paper and scissor to get another card for their team or will move on. Animals with the same vocabulary and language must match each card. </p><p>Differentiate: Visuals for students who may not understand the meaning of the words. For advance students, create sentences. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>
