It just feels like every meeting and event is a little too long... we often ask students and staff to dedicate 2-3 hours at a time that feels late in the evening or upwards of 7 hours to an event, and I think there must be a way to reduce those demands or spread the work over perhaps more frequent, shorter meetings. I learned that this topic is kind of contentious--people have vastly varying opinions on this issue--but personally I think the shift toward collaboration, toward amplifying the impact of our work, and toward growing and learning from each other RATHER THAN a focus on competition would send a positive message about how to do good social justice work in the real world to our young leaders.
