This photo shows the process of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. In other words, the process in which plants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, which humans need to live. I believe this is a plants most important role in our society and environment. Without plants, we would just be left with the oxygen in our atmosphere. Once the clean air runs out, all life on earth would be doomed, left with no choice but death. Overall, plants have a very important role in our society and environment.

This video uses easy to understand illustrations and jokes to explain photosynthesis in a easier way. The video first begins to go into what photosynthesis exactly is and why it is important. Next, it goes into the process of photosynthesis, breaking it down into it's 2 stages. This video was really helpful for me, because it allowed me to visualize the process. When reading the process of photosynthesis, it can get muddy and confusing with all the complex steps, reactions and compounds all involved in photosynthesis. Therefore, seeing a visual and a less complicated explanation, really helped me fully comprehend the process of photosynthesis.

The tropical rainforest biome is in danger of ecological change. Deforestation has taken is engulfing the tropical rainforest biomes, like the Amazon rainforest. This biome accounts for half of the oxygen produced in the world. With consumerism growing, the need for tree's and land is growing. When deforestation occurs, the earth's oxygen supply and the land is being harmed.

The Neotholic Revolution was the main transition from a hunter-gatherer society to a agricultural and the beginning of a civilization. During this, the exchange of technologies, plants, animals, and ideas occurred. This had a major impact of the formation of societies. For example, the introduction of cattle in new areas improved agriculture, as the cows could be used as an easier way to plow soil.

During the Third Agricultural Revolution, the use of irrigation was a factor that transformed the world into a global society. Irrigation is when water is collected and then held or sometimes transported to the crops, to use to water the crops. This was an important new technology, because it meant you could grow crops in new places you previously could not for reasons such as rainfall. With more places to grow crops, the yield would increase providing more food and raw materials for the growing population.

When it comes to the most influential chemical derived from a plant, morphine comes to mind. Morphine is a pain relieving drug mainly used post surgeries. The drug keeps people out of great pain for extended periods of time. Morphine is derived from the plant Papaver Somniferum, also known as poppy. This drug is the most influential, because it is important in curing pain. Doctors and patients no longer have to worry about pain as a side effect of a procedure, because chemicals like morphine can used to resolve the problem. Pictured below is the chemical diagram.

I chose this picture because I believe pollution is becoming a huge problem that so many people are unaware of. Most of the trash humans produce is sent off to land fills where it is buried into the ground, or even burned. This is ruining ecosystems, and even our air quality. Most people don't see this landfills, so the idea of "out of sight, out of mind" really plays into effect here. I think that if nothing is done now, then the amount of waste on earth will continue to grow, until we are basically living in a huge trash can. There needs to be more recycling and less waste starting now.
